This is an awesome video Matt! I’ve been thinking of switching to mullet from a full 29 inch set up to get some extra mobility and playfulness a 27.5 has. This video really gave me some important tips and things to look our for. So thank you!!!

Appreciate it dude! It's definitely a great way to change up your ride and have pretty much a brand new bike with only having to get a new rear wheel :)

I built one of these almost identical to yours because I thought looked stupendously cool, except I did a 150mm fox fork. The Remedy mullet is such a ridiculously fun trail machine. By far the funnest bike I’ve ever owned.

Niiice, I was definitely thinking about the 150mm fork to balance out the geo, but the 160 ended up working great too! Glad you enjoy the bike so much!!

I’m surprised he didn’t have to get a new fork. I have a 2020 trek remedy 8. I have a lyrik fork. Will this form handle a 29 wheel? Also, the fork can be adjusted down to 150mm

you need to make sure your fork can fit a 29er wheel. remedy comes stock with 27.5 forks so you’ll need to get a new one to fit a mullet style

I don't agree with you in the use of the flip chip in the high position... You already raised your bb puting a bigger wheel on the front, so if you use it in high, it will even higher the bb from the ground... And that explains your lost of snappiness in the curves... Try it in low and tell us what you felt. 😅

I agree here. I already run in the high on my Remedy when in NICA season. When in low I def can tell when pedaling up. Steering feels a little floppy. I think maybe 29 fork in 150mm is the sweet spot. That basically puts the heights back to stock. Especially if you are running the 2.6 tires and then go to a 29" 2.4. At that point, the height of the 29 over the 27.5 is negligible

    @@cjsutterer4804so Low setting with a 150mm 29er fork is what you’re saying?

@@juanotb1103 Actually a 150 29er fork would make the bike basically be back to stock for head angles and BB height with just a little more BB drop (which would be good in my opinion). Then you can run the flip chip in high or low and it would feel the same as with a stock setup, just a little less travel and a 29er front wheel.

Bro i hate to let you know that your whole understanding of flipping the chip to accomodate a 29' wheel at front is wrong. it's not my intention to direspect you also so i will not correct you but you might want to do more research on that..

I appreciate the feedback! This is the conclusion I reached with the research I did, but if you have deeper knowledge regarding the use of the flip chip in a mullet setup, I'd love to hear your insight! (No disrespect taken!)
