Another Sign of the Quran’s Divine Origin?

/ bloggingtheology
/ freemonotheist
I read from 'The Gospels and Jesus (Oxford Bible Series)' by Dr Graham Stanton of Cambridge University www.amazon.co.uk/Gospels-Jesu...
I have always been impressed by the extraordinary convergence of the Quranic teaching about the status and role of Jesus and the majority view of western New Testament scholars on the same issue. Unless the Quran has a divine origin how can we explain the remarkable agreement between those historians whose life work is to uncover the truth about the historical Jesus with the Quranic statements about his status, role and teaching? Was Muhammad just very lucky to get it right, just as he was most fortunate in his understanding the evolution of the embryo and spot on concerning the physical origins of the universe?
Is this extraordinary convergence yet another sign of the Quran’s divine origin?

@Christina Adam which 31 quran? When Christians are asked to show examples of differences between the 31 versions of quran they don't show it instead they show the 10 qiraats which is already accepted by all Muslims as authentic ways of recitations which has unbroken multiple different chains of reliable and trustable teachers or narrators which goes back to prophet muhammad pbuh. And above that written preservation but mainly oral transmission.

Yes, you might want to check out some scientific pages related to it. For example, the Roman doctor Galen 500 years before talks about the same stages of embryology that are often claimed to be a scientific miracle: www.answering-islam.org/Quran/Science/embryo.html And, have you ever looked into any of the scientific errors in the Quran? I have studied astrophysics and when I read the Quran can see quite a few (like the verse that says that Earth and sky were torn apart at the beginning, but as everyone knows the Earth didn't exist at the time of the Big Bang, not for some 9 billion years). It also talks about 6-day creation (wrong) and 7-heavens (wrong, this comes from the ancient cosmology where people thought that the Sun, Moon and five visible planets each had a celestial sphere or heaven). The Quran says that stars are missiles for the devils (67:5) and in 13:13 Allah looks like Zeus. The Sun also sets in a muddy spring in the Quran, as confirmed by Muhammad in sahih hadiths. Also, have you read some of the sahih hadiths? What do you think of these: sunnah.com/abudawud/12/127 sunnah.com/muslim/1/36 sunnah.com/search?q=religion+kill+him sunnah.com/bukhari:2658 muflihun.com/bukhari/52/220

@@muslimeen1930 TAWHID (oneness) VS TRINITY - WHICH ONE IS FACT?🕵️ (Let's Investigate) God is one. Of course. But...🤔 INVESTIGATION THE TRINITY IS RIGHT ACCORDING TO QURAN QS 56:57 WE (NAHNU) have created you, so why do you not believe?🧐 QS 7:11 And WE have certainly created you, [O Mankind], and given you [human] form. Then WE said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblees😈. He was not of those who prostrated. "WE"?😬 QS 28:30 But when he came to it, he was called from the right side of the valley in a blessed spot - from the tree, "O Moses, indeed I am Allah , Lord of the worlds." "I"?😬 How to debunk Islamic tawhid/oneness and to prove The Trinity is right. 1) if Muslims say, the WE means Gabriel/Jibril also speaking, we can easily say that Muslims are doing shirk, coz angels can't create humans. 2) If Muslims say the WE (nahnu/na in Arabic) in the verses is about Royal We/Pluralis Majestatis, not exactly plural and tell Christians that Arabic grammar is different to understand, so we can easily say that Muslim god is controlled by Arabic culture and understanding and it concludes Muslim god is no more than an Arab god, not almighty God. 3) If Muslims tell you that the WE means Allah created while angels helped the process of creating human like getting the dirt, we can say that Muslim god is a weak god coz he couldn't get the dirt on his own. 4) If Muslims show you many verses about oneness of their god and disregard the verses I showed you above, we can easily say that the verses I quoted are fake, so automatically Quran is fake and not the word of God. 5) If Muslims still insist that Tawheed is correct, challenge them to erase the word NAHNU/NA/We from the verses. Will they dare to? The Trinity accepts the I and the We for God. By accepting the Trinity (the We and the I for God a.k.a the Father (God), the Son (the Word) and the Holy Spirit are one, automatically you confess Jesus Christ is Lord (RABB) and Savior.

Brother Paul salaam alaikum, I want to make a correction concerning the verse you quoted. In the Arabic text in the Qur'an Jesus did not say that Allah knew what was in his heart nor did jesus knows what's in Allah's heart is a wrong translation, it's attributing human qualities to Allah. In the Arabic it says that Jesus said "you know what's in my inner self and I don't know what's in your inner self. Nowhere in the Qur'an did Allah state that Allah had a heart which in arabic is called Qalb if we really want to compare it to the word Nafs(i) which literally means "myself" in the case of Jesus and yourself i.e Nafsik(a) referring to Allah. It is erroneous and misleading from the one who translated it and we don't want to liken or make similitude called in arabic Tamtheel of Allah Almighty to His creation in any way shape or form. The following translation reads was follows. And (remember) when Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): "O 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Did you say unto men: 'Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allah?' " He will say: "Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my inner-self though I do not know what is in Yours, truly, You, only You, are the All-Knower of all that is hidden and unseen. (English - Mohsin Khan)

@@funkycacahuete2933, Jesus was crucified by the urgings of The Jewish high Priests who had resented His (Christ's) claim as being The Redeemer. The Romans had taken over Jerusalem and so The Jews pestered Pontious Pilate, The Roman Governor, to imprison and kill Jesus whom they saw as an imposter. Pontious Pilate questioned "what did this man do wrong?" he did not want to hurt Jesus and did see the injustice. Pilate gave into The Jews due to the amount of unrest taking place. Pilate himself ended up committing suicide.

If he is god, why isn't he able to simply forgive sins of his creation instead of allowing them to kill him to forgive their sins? Is this an attribute of perfection or craziness? Such actions go against greatness, and god almighty is far far away from this crazy stuff, he is perfect, and he is ONE (Exodus 20:3, Mark 12:19, Quran 122) And your question is wrong, it is like saying is god able to create a rock so heavy that he can not lift? Such question itself is wrong. Because being perfect means not doing anything imperfect. (Or using your logic, he can have sex, drink alcohol, sleep, have biological children and grand children...... etc ???) Quran, 17:43 Exalted is He and high above what they say by great sublimity. 17:44 The seven heavens and the earth and whatever is in them exalt Him. Indeed, He is ever Forbearing and Forgiving. 19:35 It is not [befitting] for Allah to take a son; exalted is He! When He decrees an affair, He only says to it, "Be," and it is. 10:68 They have said, " Allah has taken a son." Exalted is He; He is the [one] Free of need. @Christina Adam 1- Quran was memorized by the companions of the prophet as millions of muslims right now do all around the globe. Those verses that speak about stoning do not exist because the Quran does not mention this as a punishment of adultery; you can check the fourth chapter entitled as women. You found your claim in Bukhari 's book and it is written 200 years after the death of prophet, so I dont believe the hadiths that exist there if they contradict what the Quran says. This is the criteria the prophet put for us to realise whether a Hadith is authentic or not by the way. 2- Utmhan burnt false copies of Quran because ordinary people who live far from the arab lands started to write their own Quran which made them make mistakes when reciting it. As a result, Uthman burnt all the copies that exist at their hands in fear that those errors will spread and the islamic community would be divided. All the companions of the prophet accepted that decision including Ali and other knowledgeable companions, and a perfect flawless copy was published. 3- The seven Qurans that Uthman sent to different regions were accepted by the consensus of the companions and many conditions were fulfilled to write them perfectly. In order for any verse to be written, there must be two companions that memorized it by heart and a corresponding written verse from the texts that prophet left before his death. Also, there is a version of Quran in UK that belong to the time of the prophet (pbuh) and you can check it; it is identical to the one that we have right now. 4- Hafs is a way of pronouncing the arabic words in Quran like Bristish and American English; a mode of recitation not a different text. and in the Islamic world, everyone can use any mode of recitation that he/she wants. For example, in Africa they use Warsh and not Hafs. therefore, no one is imposing anything on anyone and this is a losing argument that you are using. 5- those 5000 variations that you are talking about stem all from the same root words of Arabic, for instance when talking about God we can say either malek (sovereign of the day of judgment) or malik (king of the day of judgment) and they convey the same concept about the mightiness of God and add a richness to the meaning of the verses and this why Quran it not an ordinary text, but a perfect revelation. 6- there are no satanic verses in our holly book, for me personally, I dont believe in that incident at all and I am not obliged to believe in a story that a person reported after centuries, regardless of whether he is a scholar or not. I believe that Quran is flawless revealed by God and that s my creed. The Quran does not include any satanic verse and the verse that you have cited does not exist in Quran, stop lying on people. The following verses are the only pure words from almighty God that exist in chapter 53: (53:19) Have you ever thought about al-Lat and al-Uzza(53:20) and about the third deity, al-Manat?(53:22) That is indeed an unfair division!(53:23) These are nothing but names that you and your forefathers have invented, for which Allah has sent down no authority. God in these verses is refuting the claims of idol worshipers . Finally, the words of God are so clear and so preserved as God promised in the Quran.
