SPOILERS STOP READING NOW IF YOU HAVENT OR DONT WANT TO KNOW: crystal and charles do not "end up together", crystal breaks up with him as she is a living girl growing up and charles stays the same forever and she moves to america to sort of distance herself from the ghosts and be more normal. The comic run ends with Edwin admitting to the audience he has a crush on Charles. That was the most recent run of comics till Doom Patrol which is the back door pilot for this new show ALSO written by Steve Yockey in which Edwin is once again admitting to audience and another character (Larry) that he has romantic feelings for Charles. Charles in that episode is also not shown to have interest in Crystal. SO i agree it seems obvious in the SHOW that PayneLand is endgame.

I think they’re definitely planning on making them endgame. I think this because when Edwin realizes that he has these romantic feelings for Charles he puts his hand on his heart/chest. At the end of the 8th episode when the two boys hug, we see that when Edwin pulls away Charles puts his hand on his heart/chest. So I think this is opening the doorway for Charles to realize his feelings or I’m just reading to deep into it.

YES omg I saw that too and thought I was going insane for thinking it could be foreshadowing

I personally think that if the seasons go on Charles will eventually develop feelings for Edwin, the way there are snippets of scenes Charles is seen taking interest and seeming a bit jealous and also when he says the reason he likes Crystal is because of them ( Edwin and Crystal) being similar really marks the possibility of the relationship between them that might evolve as the season go on.

Honestly, best thing I like about this edit is how you didn't actually show the part where Charles 'rejects' Edwin - instead, you showed all of those times where Charles fought ruthlessly to make sure everyone around him but ESPECIALLY Edwin was safe, because despite romantic feelings they really do love each other. Plus, this song is so fitting to them I really can't

Very nice edit. :) If this does get a season 2, and I sincerely hope that it does, I wonder how this relationship will proceed. Charles tells Edwin that he "can't say" he's IN love with him, but does indicate that he, in fact, loves him more than anyone else. There's no doubt as far as that's concerned --- Edwin and Charles are each other's first priority, and they will do anything for each other. Something that sticks out to me though is how Charles adds something along the lines of, "We have forever to figure out what the rest means." That makes me feel like this isn't resolved and they still have things to unpack. We know that them finally opening up and being honest with each other has brought them closer. But in a hypothetical second season, will they continue with a platonic relationship while Edwin finds another love interest? Will another love interest be cool with the fact that Edwin may continue to put Charles first? Will Charles come to the realization that he's IN love with Edwin after all? The brain rot is real over here.
