Strange to see kids like this. Kids from my university are terrifyingly well informed and active. Even about rights of the gaurds, andworkers employed by the university.

It's very sad to see the students are unaware of the reality.

So sad to see the shift in the thought process of Bengal. It looks like the state has lost its intellect. The sensibility and rationality that the youth of Bengal carried in the 70s have now become the story of the past. It's sad to see jobless youth but most unfortunate is to see the misguided and ill-informed youth. Modi is sensible for women is the greatest farce and those who believe this without even questioning are the abyss of hopelessness.

Most of these students didn't answer the questions asked by the reporter but they gave a general reply instead of actually answering the question. This way,their answers seemed to be all made up in advance. For example, they didn't answer the questions related to Manipur and Revanna.They spoke well only about Bengal related issues.

I also feel that NL needs to probe at least on certain thematic, use the opportunity to let them know how women's safety has gone for a toss... There were several responses on women's safety improved. Using probes to elicit focused views will help. Opportunity to provide them space to revisit their views...

Let me inform you that they all learn french and most of them migrate to France.There is an Alliance Française in Kolkata where the courses are very expensive.These Chandannagar students dominate there because they come after learning french from school level.They are the ones who go to France.In fact this Institution is totally controlled by Chandannagar and outsiders pay lakhs of rupees and don't learn a thing.All the Chandannagar people I've met till date..and there are many,are hindutwa agents and Modi bhakts.They even troll and threaten other learners if,during a discussion they criticise the Central Government.The French Government which is mostly Islamophobic also encourages immigration of these people.

Having some basic knowledge when you try to explain the history, is good. From Serampore till Bandel, there were 5 different European settlements in different times. Serampore (Srirampur) was a Dennis settlement, the first printing press of India was set up here. Chandannagore was a French settlement. Chinsurah was a Dutch settlement. Bandel was a Portugese settlement. All were lost to the British, except Chandannagore. While India got independene in 1947, Chandannagore and Pondichery were made independent and part of India in 1954.

As for as employment both the govt i.e central and state are failed to make any impact. Especially state govt has become a curse for the youth. Education system is totally collapsed.
