This should have probably been the main feature of the 50th Anniversary Box Set Last Year. It would have made it more attractive to buy. With that being I think this gimmick works quite well because it's The Dark Side of the Moon.

Hi Nick, good wee video. I bought a copy yesterday simply because it's different from all the others. Firstly it's two discs, and secondly, it's a really cool picture disc that you can actually play without losing sound quality. Of all the vinyl pressings and different copies i have on CD it will never sound as good as my copy did back in 1976 when i bought it as a 16 year old just getting into rock music. This was when this album sounded its best. You could stick it on the shitiest record player and it would still sound absolutely amazing simply because of the sound quality due to the mastering and mixing at the time. I had albums by Uriah Heep, Yes, ELP, Black Sabbath, all the early soon to be mega selling bands of the 70's but none of those bands albums could touch the sound quality of DSOTM.

I had the Japanese 50th Anniversary pressing as well as the Clear Vinyl UV artwork copy arrive on the same day. Love the album!

It looks pretty cool. I have the 2016 pressing but I might pick this one up also if it's still available.

I have an original and the 2016 release. I haven't decided on this new version, but I am looking for a 30th anniversary edition in near mint condition.

I know over the years I had a few Dark Side albums. As it turns out right now I have none. So I did buy this. If I only could have one copy…this would be it.

yep.. 50 bucks is enough to drop on it. it's looking GREAT for sure and I like it for around 50 not a lot more, but if the price is inflated much beyond that i'd buy the 50th in the standard offering at around 33 bucks.

I grabbed this one as well but, unfortunately, it arrived with a scratch on Side A resulting in ticking for several minutes. Too bad the scratch wasn't on Side B or D, lol. Went to ask for a replacement on Amazon but it was sold out. It went back in stock and I was able to request a replacement. That was a few days ago and it hasn't shipped. Looking at Amazon now and it looks like it's out of stock again.

I bought this one and although it sounds great, I hear constantly some pops and clicks on many quiet parts, does anybody knows if this happens on the black normal copy of 50th anniversary? Or is it a quiet one?

Nick, yes, we as Pink Floyd fans have a problem, just like John Coltrane fans have a problem with new copies of Love Supreme or Dead Heads. I bought the last copy in my locL record store on Record Store Day. Oh, and yes, I bought this copy as well, along with many other copies to include the MoFi. There is even a Pro-ject Pink Floyd Turntable.

The only PF album I ever owned was UmmaGumma and that left me with such a bad impression of the group I never listened to anything else by them, this includes DSOTM. Oh well.

Hi A great album deserves this. It looks awesome. TDSOTM is not my favourite PF album, but it deserves so much attention and variations. I keep hope that one day Atom Heart Mother and Meddle get the remix treatment. These are my favourite PF albums. Enjoy the music and take care.

Does this mean we can be looking for yet another reissue of Rumors? It's like a race to see how many times we can get diehard fans to buy the same record over and over again. To be honest, I haven't bought any other copy than the original, which I got in 1973. I may have mentioned this before, but DSOTM I think is Pink Floyd going commercial. It is a great album, but before this, so much of their stuff was so far out there, you know?

Word of advice. Don't keep it sealed. I'm on the third copy. Scuffs scratches and black spots.

I always thought these releases were for people who haven’t bought the album yet and want to obtain it. The people who are rebuying this album over and over and over again really need to look inward & figure out why they are doing it.

Not a big fan of DSOTM here. I think is just a good 70s album and I´m happy with my semi beat up original copy. There is a hundred albums I wish they could reissue instead of this one specially from the krautrock, punk, post punk, metal or rock en español genres. This DSOTM copy looks nice though.

Don't need it. Don't even need to hear it ever again.

A pointless release.

The last time i bought DSOTM was 1973, its time for a fresh copy. If it sounds as good as you say, ill be good with the high price. I ordered 3copies. One for myself, the others for gifts or sale. Its a beautiful thing. Thanks forthe review. I never heard the 30th album but i think im going to like this. Later....
