With how physical the refs have allowed teams to play, the mavs may have an edge. Dallas have become a fantastically balanced team in all facets. The used to rely on the 3 but seem to be attacking far more.

knee injury might fuck the mavs this playoffs. hopefully luka can do something (💉) to get it into good enough shape quick. his shooting is completely related to his inability to get comfortable on the jump, especially when the knee is key for setting a good position for the body, like the 3.

@@2boldboman274 yeah we’ve seen it with JV in the last series. But he doesn’t really need to guard them tbh, he just has to disrupt the lobs thrown at him. Gafford and lively aren’t really threats offensively outside of pick & rolls and being lob threats.

They had stretches in the clippers series where they both couldn’t find their groove and it affected the entire dynamic of the mavs offense. Obviously they picked up the slack in the second half’s but it’s something to keep in mind.

Okc thunder thrives playing rush ball, and the Dallas mavs are unfazed when they try to rush them, this will be interesting

Don't forget DJJ guarding Shai will be an absolute dogfight, leaving him more tired than usual- and having to pass more. Having gafford and lively to back him up is just icing on the cake. PJs length will be great at the perimeter, and if Kai and Luka continue the defensive steals this looks like Dallas in 5.

Rebounding and paint points is will be the X factor that pushes Dallas into the WCF. We get too caught up with the 3 ball today. Basketball has always been about getting boards and scoring close to the hoop. It’s more consistent. Mavs in 6, maybe 5.

Mavs in 5. The regular season series is scewed. When both rosters were full, Mavs won a blowout game. Other 3 games are : -Luka didn't play - Mavs lost a close game -Kyrie didn't play - Mavs lost a close game -Last game of the season both Luka and Kyrie sitting out to rest before PO: Thunder full won a blowout. If it drags to 7 games, OKC can win on freshness ... Mavs can win games so they can fold this one early not letting it drag to be aphysical showdown in 7th game.

I live in Dallas it’s only a 2.5 hour drive, so many mavs fans were going to go to okc that Ticketmaster won’t let you buy tickets with a Texas zip code. I’m sure they will find a way around it and it’ll be a pretty even crowd

And we didnt even have Lively during that game and thats the healthiest lineup we've ever had in the regular season. Luka would exploit OKCs size difference. ​@@domro6583Just imagine DJones shadowing Shai. Usually, Shai has an advantage against other PGs because he is longer but not against DJones. If DJones can be disciplined enough against Harden, who perfected foul baiting, imagine what he can do against Shai. Or the mavs could put a bigger stronger PJ Washington on him. Or a savvy Exum. And the biggest difference will be rebounding. You just can't give too many 2nd or 3rd chances to a team with Luka and Kyrie on offense. The scary part is Luka and Kyrie were below their usual selves and yet were able to take care of the Clippers on which should have won game 4 if PG didn't have that awesomely defended, falling away, time running out 3pointer

-OKC's favored strategy is force TOs and run, but Mavs is the best team by a mile in limiting overall turnovers and are very good in limiting and defending fastbreaks. -Mavs favored strategy technically is PnR, but in reality, they can do a lot of different things on the court and they do it very well. That's why Clippers failed to contain their offense in the latter part of their series. -Mavs offense is way more dynamic by having multiple options (they can efficiently post up, PnR, bully ball, fast pace, and they can also do 5 man spread lineups). -OKC loves to spam the 5 man spread, kickout and drive, until a shooter becomes free or a driving lane becomes open. -OKC's defense is very good at man to man particularly with LuDort. Chet is a bonafide rim protector that intimidates a lot of teams that don't have physically imposing bigs. -Mavs defense is very good at man to man, switch, zone, and they too have bonafide rim protectors in Gafford and Lively. -Mavs will be the physically imposing team in this series, and OKC struggles against teams that out muscles them particularly Chet. -Shai will have a hard time getting into the basket and score as DJJ, PJ, Maxi, and Josh Green can match his speed (as they've shown against Harden and PG). He will still get his points but it will be way harder than the Pelican series. -Luka is a very strong physical guard that should have no trouble against Lu Dort. In their recent matchups, he did very well against him. Not sure whether he will be 100% against OKC, but if he is, no one in that team can ever hope to stop him. And even if he is not 100%, he should still be the best player by far in this series. -Kyrie will be unstoppable in the 3rd and 4th quarter of this series (as he shown against other teams with similar builds to OKC and even against OKC themselves). -Mavs has the best offense and defense in the clutch, meaning that any close games near end time should favor the Mavs. Conclusion: This will be BULLY BALL of epic proportions. Mavericks will clamp and destroy the young Thunder in 4 to 5 games.

It’s going to be tuff on both sides but from what I seen as OKC’s weakness is defending the bigs in the paint. The Mavs don’t have an inconsistent CJ McCollum or a B.I. … I mean they’re the 8th seed

without injury to both teams, I believe the Mavericks will win the series in 6 games because of their size(length), deeper roster, style of play and experience.

OKC is a highly skilled team but the will struggle on the boards and interior defense. Right now they are built more for the regular season than the post season

I'd LOVE to see a Mavs/Knicks Finals... but the Knicks aren't being the Celts. Knicks went 1-4 im their reg season series with the Celts. Their ONLY win was also only because the Celts had the 1 locked up so their starters were on limited mins and they were just trying to get through the game without an injury in a meaningless game for them. Celts absolutely have the Knicks number. A Mavs/Celts Finals would be 🔥 as well though and super competitive.

Mavericks will prevail this series and they make the series as Lob series! Luka MVP

Every single expectation that has been set for us lately has been shattered. This is going to be a tough fight, but mavs will take this. J. Kidd has that championship coach and player, experience, they also got Kyrie with championship experience plus Luka(you already know who Luka is). OKC is just too young for this., maybe next season.

Weirdly enough this will actually be my first time watching the thunder play 😅

I expect another fantastic series that could go either way. Picking Mavs in 6.

Mavs in 6 but it will be a super tight series. Thunder and Shai need another year of experience and Luka’s due for at least another conference finals appearance. He and Kyrie are too good of players to lose to an inexperienced team like this even if Luka’s a little hurt.

The lack of rebounds is on purpose. They focus getting back on defense rather than rebounds

@@morgan2552t clippers are a very solid team. Luka wasn’t even at 100% and mavs didn’t have 3rd best scorer in THJ either. Mavs still won 4-2 not playing as good as they usually do. Luka won’t have another poor shooting series

Kyrie is going to save the Mavs again this series.

We will see in the upcoming series how good really is Chet. I have a feeling he'll disappear in this series. Not gonna step up to the occasion, and his weaknesses exposed.

7-2 since February 2022. Thunder beating up your Mavs for two years now! Scored combined 1086-1021

The NBA postseason is a mountain. Rarely do you see a young team like OKC make it to the top without paying some dues for 2-3 seasons. Mavs in 6 if they stay healthy.

All about Luka's health and how disciplined Chet can be with him and Kyrie driving into the paint. If he gets in foul trouble lobs will be raining. The Thunder really need their role playing shooters to keep the Mavs honest otherwise Shai is going to find out this is not the porous defense he's used to.

Everyone saying the mavs are gonna win need to understand despite what you think from personnel the Thunder have a better defense than the clips and better offense than the mavs. But this should be a great series.

I'm guessing OKC in 6. Why? Everyone else is guessing the Mavs so I'll do the opposite. This is going to be a tough test for OKC because the Mavs are significantly better than the Pels without Zion, I can't wait for the series to get underway to see if OKC can surprise everyone.
