Answers to FAQ’s Anal Glads I clean the anal glands at the owners request. It is important that the dog itself express their anal glands. The anal gland is a muscle in the dog’s rectum and the more you manually do it the more you’re teaching the dog not to use it’s muscle. Honestly groomers really shouldn’t express anal glands. If the anal glands are compacted a vet should be doing it but if your dog is having issues with anal glands you should add fiber to the diet. Music Unfortunately I can’t use the complete shop noise because we play music in the background that I can get copy written for so I have to drown out that music with something or no sounds at all. If I put in background music I can leave a little shop noise in. So, I will always add music unless it is not necessary to do so. “Roughness” During the bath I speed up the time to trim the video shorter in length so, things may seem “rougher” than they actually are because what you’re watching is a bit distorted. Also, when you hear me firm with a dog it is to train them for safety reason so they do not get seriously injured now or in future grooming appointments. Scissors & Matting I didn’t use scissors because they are way more dangerous than clippers. Clippers I can pull away quickly but shears are very sharp so if the dog moves I could’ve cut him/her really bad. Groomers are actually taught never to use shears to cut out a mat because it’s so dangerous. I’ve seen so many instances where people (owners and groomers) have cut dogs bad because they were trying to cut the mat out quick and actually cut the dog. Voiceovers Voiceovers go hand in hand with the music. My viewers like to know what is going on and what tools I am using and why. We also like to discuss topics related to dogs so I will talk about that in my voiceovers. I will always do voiceovers unless it is not necessary to do so. Video Angles I switch up my angles so that the majority gets a view they like. If you’re looking for a head mounted view that is typically Wednesdays or point of view could be Mondays or Fridays. Stationary camera view is either Mondays or Fridays Coddling Dogs/Puppies I don’t coddle dogs during grooming because grooming is a serious matter dealing with sharp tools that can injure a dog greatly. If a dog or puppy is throwing a tantrum I will not stop to hold or comfort the dog because they don’t understand like we do. They consider that rewarding. So, by me “comforting” them during a tantrum or spastic moment, it is actually backfiring and training them that if they act up the groomer will stop and they will get what they want. Which is how dogs end up getting hurt during grooming and hating it. So, play time is for before or after grooming and never during. Assumptions This final one is not a question but more of an assumption some people have. Some people assume, because I didn’t put it in the video, it didn’t happen. Just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. As groomers and editors, we cut out a lot of “unnecessary” content so what you are watching is NOT actually how the day went. So, if you have a question of whether or not something happened during the process that is NOT in this pinned comment, please feel free to ASK and NOT ASSUME. Shampoo/Conditioning I do NOT use a lot of shampoo. The bottles that I use are mixing bottles and are predominantly water. I thoroughly wet the coat and scrub them really well which creates the nice lather so they are actually clean when I am finished. Ears Yes I clean and pluck ears but only when necessary. If a dog has clean ears, there is no need. If a dog has matted ears and matted hair in the ear canal, I won’t pluck the ears if I have to shave the ears down to avoid hematomas. Yes I put cotton balls in the ears for certain dogs who are prone to ear infections and I use happy hoodies for senior dogs or noise sensitive dogs. If you ask me something that is in this section, I will respond, refer to the pinned comment. Also, know I have very sarcastic humor and in general a sarcastic person (not in a bad or annoying way lol) so if you comment something sarcastic or smart mouth, I will reply with something sarcastic in return 🤣🤣 Thank you all for the constant love and support and I’ll catch you in the next video 🙏🏾❤️❤️ For The Luv Of Dogs 🐶

Jokes aside, I’ve been debating for years if I’d want to get a purebred poodle to assist in my future therapy practice. If I did, this would have to be the coat type of that dog. Though I like the look and feel of both the fleece and wool coat types, they both seem like so much more work to maintain in comparison to the smooth and wavy coat. I couldn’t imagine brushing through a wool coat 4-5 times a week. 😵‍💫

@@TwiceSmittenOnceShy I mean they are something else lol. These dogs lol especially the puppies 🤣🤣🤣 Tbh me and my partner are thinking of getting a poodle later on down the road. It’s just sooo much work with keeping the long coat because I honestly would want to keep it. 🤣

@@TheLuvOfDogs I’m absolutely with you both on that one. If I had one I’d want exactly what you did to Lulu, except add clean paws and that’s it. That’s an insane amount of brushing and combing. What, like at least 5/7 days a week to maintain it? Although, I guess since the daily maintenance stacks, it should take about the same amount of time each day since you’re not allowing mats to form 🤷🏾‍♂️

Nothing worse than most of those grooming channels. Making jokes about dangerous behaviors because they’re afraid to be stern because of the criticism. Giving dogs treats through muzzles while they’re aggressive-praising them just to get views. It’s awful. Can you imagine if kids behaviors during hair cuts etc. biting and screaming thrashing over regular care?!? Behavioral training is a must for ALL breeds of ALL ages. But people really think the only training they need is house training! And then people wonder why dogs are the #1 killer of humans! Over 4.5 million people are attacked by dogs a year 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 People have poor emotional boundaries and call it “empathy” like umm noooo… these groomers do not deserve to put up with the bullshit these owners don’t wanna deal with

Lol omg this actually made me giggle. Yes I remember you and not in a bad way. Listen, I understand everyone’s comments. One thing I will say, if I didn’t scrub the faces the way I do a lot of dogs would go home with tear stains built up and just gunk around the eyes. The reason I scrub the way I do is because of how bad I’ve seen dogs eyes get. If it makes you feel better, when I rinse the faces I rinse it with cool water and that soothes the eye if the soap ever irritates it. But, fingers crossed I’ve never had a dog with any major reactions to soap on the face or any real issues. Any dog that I’ve had that had issues with face wash had prior issues or is sensitive to scent so for those I use hypo with no scent but I’ve been pretty good so far 🤞🏾

Lulu is fine and she was not hurt. I explained in the video that her owner says she is the same way even just by looking at the brush. Dogs have tougher skin than humans. Lulu just doesn't like to be brushed and is an alpha. A lot of dogs are like that. I've worked with dogs for a very long time, you are more sensitive to it than she is. Trust me

Ok, one, I never jerked her neck, two she doesn’t even have a tail she has a numb so kinda hard to jerk that, not that I would lol and three I never hard pulled her leg lol. Idk what you were watching but maybe try and watch it over again. Also, spitting in a dogs face is disgusting. Wow, y’all really see what y’all want 😂. I blew air in her face. I talked about it in several of my videos as a way to get the dog’s attention span away from what she was trying to bite at. Can I ask you a question, would you prefer I let the dog get hurt and fly off the table or bite the dremel and the roof of her mouth gets ground by the dremel and she gets rushed to the vet? Doesn’t that sound….a bit harsh?? Hmmmm 🤔

You thought I was mean to Lulu because you exaggerated what was actually happening in your mind. I never pushed Lulu. To push something is an action that is harder than actually moving them similar to shoving. Pushing, you use with all your might. Never once did you see that in the video. So let’s not use words to “fluff” your comment to make it sound exaggerated. As far as how I talk to the dogs, I don’t put on for anyone like the groomers I watch on here. I am who I am on and off camera. It’s funny because me and my boss were just talking about that lol. People just find it funny and entertaining. I’m not trying to entertain anyone this is who I am. If you don’t find it funny or entertaining that is fine because that is not my goal. Breaking down your comment, it’s interesting because you can tell you said things that would “hurt” the average person but it kinda show who you are. Now who’s the mean one 😌 Now, if you don’t like me, you can simply watch another KZread channel 😚 Have a bless day ☺️
