Tama naman po yan maam.I strongly agree.But,hindi sa lahat ng tao pati sa ibang bansa ay understandable ang mga sentences na yan.Kasi meron pa rin karamihan lalo na deto sa atin sa pinas na mas gugustuhin at madali nilang maintindihan kung deretsang sabihin na condolence.Nowadays sa buong mundo mas lalong gustuhin pa nila na almost shortcut na gagamitin nila.Even in emails.So sad but that’s the reality.

Kung ganito yung way sa pagtuturo ng english im sure madali mo lng ma'catch up yung topic. Yung pagtuturo ng english na may halong tagalog is malaking tulong talaga para sa aming mga filipino para madaling matutunan ang salitang english. Kahit anong pronunciation o enunciation pa yan maiintindihan yan ng puti kasi hindi sila judgemental pagdating sa accent. Mga Pinoy lang maarte sa accent. Mga taga-France nga halos imugmug na lang yung English nila naiintindihan pa din.

Haha, mahirap talaga pag isang meaning lang ang alam sa isang word, just like "Sorry", pati yung word na "Afraid", naalala ko pinagtawanan din ako nung ginamit ko sa sentence like, "I'm afraid I had to do this...", sabi ng friend ko, bakit ka natatakot? hahaha, tandaan natin na nag-iiba din ang meaning ng words depende sa pagkagamit sa sentence, so this time 'I'm afraid' as a phrase means something else, hindi dahil takot.

Indeed. It is much appreciated though. That's why I didn't replied to those who told me that when I lost my father years ago. It doesn't sounds sincere to me when they told me only "condolence". though, I appreciated their effort to tell me "one day, you'll be alright."

This is true if the expression is done in a written form and if we strictly follow the prescriptivists. However, Philippine English is accepted in the linguistic perspective. Hence, when we say “condolence” orally, I think it is still acceptable in the Philippine context. Sociolinguistically, pwede din naman. 😊 Great contents, Ma’am! Pre-service teacher here major in English... this topic means a lot to me.. surprisingly, I realized na mali pala talaga ako since then I usually using " condolence" if someone in my friends family member was recently died or relatives. Now I know how to use condolence/S in a proper way. Thank you talaga. ❤️❤️❤️

Loss = Pagkawala Lost = Nawala or Natalo (past tense ng "Lose") Lose = Talo Loose = Maluwag

Ang karamihan pa sa mga Pinoy na laging mali ang pronounciation ay example: Ang Video( Vi-de-O ) ay nagiging 'Bidjo' KZread( Yu -Toob ) ay nagiging 'Yu Tsub' Fish ay nagiging ' Pis' Fact ( Fa act) ay nagiging 'Fak' (pag narinig ng native English speaker mapagkakamalang bastos ang nag sasalita nito.. and so on....
