My favorite Annihilator song. I can't get enough of these crazy Canadians. They're amazing.

Aaron Randall was one of the cool and groovy Annihilator- singers.

Gotta love the alternate ending they do here. The Alice In Hell reference on the studio version is cool, but I like this at least as much.

This is the best version of Annihilator. Bassist Wayne Darley and guitarist Dave Davis gave this band a punch and kick like it hasn't had since their departures. Dave Davis was easily Jeff's equal on guitar and perhaps even better. Wayne's an awesome bass player as well. Oh yeah....the song kicks ass.

that drum riff he pulls at 4:45 is insane!

I love the quirkiness of this song. Only a metal genius like waters could make a song like this metal.

STWOF to me is by far the best Annihilator album. They did a lot of lukewarm stuff over the years. But this one has fantastic Metal songs in it - not just awesome guitar playing. No Zone, Knight Jumps Queen , Don't Bother Me, this one ... great stuff.

I didn't say Jeff wasn't any good. If he wasn't, Mustaine wouldn't have wanted him in Megadeth. I agree Jeff's an awesome guitarist and so is Dave. I've watched Dave before, during, and since Annihilator as I've known him for 25 years so I do know what kind of musician he is. That's why I made the comment and I stand by it.

Yes, I agree with most of you; great band! :D And I find this album their best, although Alice in Hell is also really good. ^^

I agree that annihilator is a follower band. But as a guitar player i think that what they released is o so great. And they brought some new stuff to the sceen... Better drums then metallica for instance.. ^^

even I was a big fan of Mustaine AND Waters..i think Mustaine was major-Pissed, when Waters said NO to him...as well Waters mentioned, he couldnt be in a band, without writing his own stuff. He was the head of his band since beginning sure...but...if he would be in Megadeth..that would have been VERY interesting!

I have the same problem..ANNIHILATOR is in my opinion the best thrash metal band ever..intelligent lyrics ,,=awesome guitars.....

Listen to their earlier stuff like allison hell or never never land, its better (musically) than obituary and it holds its own against death. If you like stuff like this then check out coroner, they also kick ass.

Alice in Hell was a great album and Set the World on Fire is growing on me

This is true, it would have been interesting to see what sort of stuff Jeff and Dave would have written together. Im thinking their sound would have been closer to Chris Polands material. But im glad that Marty got the job over anyone else. He definatly added alot of tasteful flavor to the solos probably more so then Jeff would have but either way Jeffs a great guitarist but their newer albums arent that good, it sounds very generic. I miss the stuff he did with this particular lineup

I love me Some Metallica !! But Musically This band does things that baffle my musical senses !!! LOL They ARE GREAT!! OH AND RANDY BLACK IS ONE OF THE BEST DRUMMERS OUT THERE!! HE WENT ON TO PLAY WITH PRIMAL FEAR!

They're only underrated because they're canadian, but I guess that doesn't make sense if you take rush into consideration so... I don't know.

yea, they kicked ass with their earlier stuff but nowadays they seem to be going straight down. Their latest album, METAL, had SO much potential (with guests like Alexi Laiho or Steve Kudlow, not to mention Arch Enemy vocalist Angela Gossow) yet it sucked royally, i personally only like 1-2 songs from that album and that's only for the instrumental parts.

@AmateurGuitarist15 i think they basically have different styles. I see Metallica as a traditional heavy metal band, and Annihilator more like a trash metal band. But I do agree on the fact that metallica is way more popular than Annihilator, maybe just because they have a better marketing dept... And yes,.. JW could play any of metallica´s songs with hands tied in a dark room.

hmm, not bad...very musical early thrash...i like it cuz its not too heavy but not straight up rock plus its got JUST a pube of tech, but not too much like a lot of modern bands....never really got into their stuff, any recamendations on where to start?

'Metallica wouldn't be a big as their are if they didn't write more radio friendly stuff' I disagree. It's their work's quality, not the 'radio friendly stuff's' popularity what show us the greatness of any band. IMHO.
