My first exposure to Ann Margaret was the Flintstones with "Ann Margrock"😅 I just remembered being able to tell that she must have been based off a real person so I asked my mom " who is Ann Margrock?" She was like "you mean Margaret"? I was like "no they said Margrock"😅 Image me being smart enough to recognize a character being based off a real person but not pick up on the fact that the Flintstones always added "rock" or "stone" to any name🤦🤣

Ann Margaret helped Tina Turner after she left Ike. She and Tina's 'Rollin' duet is my favorite. Ann held her own. I respected Ann all these years as she never spilled much about her relationship with EP. She did say in one interview that she wanted a career and hers was just taking off when she met EP. EP didn't want his wife to work, but they parted as friends. Ann had a lot of good people around her in her hometown in the US which kept her humble in my opinion.

In the late 1970’s I saw the Stunning Ann Margaret riding her Harley Davidson in Hollywood. She was wearing what appeared to be a black leather outfit. Her red hair loose around her face. I was walking down the sidewalk when I saw her. Years later when Little Richard was performing at a venue I was working Roger Smith & Ann Margaret came in & I served them their drinks. Afterwards they went to his dressing room. They were friends of Little Richard. Loved Little Richard especially towards the end of his life. What an epic battle he fought to overcome himself & this world. I believe he conquered the ‘Old Man’ & was Victorious. What a Man he was in his last years. 🌷❤️🌷

They both looped a lot of movies and by age 7 or so I was head over heels for Ann-Margret. Sure, I'd seen other movies like Bus Stop and West Side Story along with a lot of film noir and adored Gene Tierney, Mamie Van Doren, Marilyn Monroe, and Natalie Wood, but there was just something about Ann-Margret that beckoned like the demigoddess Calypso herself. I have an autographed 8 x 10 from her and every time I see it, I'm still star struck.

@@traceylennon1204 I seldom got home that soon because both my parents worked until early evening and my friends and I usually stayed at the school doing homework, playing at sports, or rifling through the huge public library across the street. Unless my memories are too hazy, in the late 60s & early 70s channels 9 and lower were mostly talk or game shows, news, and sports. On Saturdays, 11 & 13 used to show a lot of sci fi and monster movies while their Sundays were usually dominated by classics. That's probably an oversimplification, but tended to be the pattern in the San Diego area back then.

Growing up in the 90s, I always saw Anne in the tabloids, and honestly thought she was already so old then…I was a kid, so someone in their 40s or 50s looked like 60s or 70s to me. Now I’m 42 & like, geez she was probably not much older than me back then😂 She’s actually only 5yrs older than my dad. I can’t believe some people now don’t know who she is…she’s a legend!
