Unique is a heavily utilized word for maternity nurses. My favorites from the maternity unit were a set of twins. They were named Todasia and Tomari for today and tomorrow.

I told people I was planning to name my son DingBang.
My brother and his wife came up with Jasestafer. The would dead pan say that Jason and Jennifer were their favorite names but put together it's a great name for either a boy or a girl. I'm surprised so many people fell for it but the two are great a keeping straight faces.

I can’t react because I’m from the land of weird names -Turkey. My grandmother was called “Diamond” I am called “Supreme” 😅 I’ve met with people called GrayWolf, Moss, Sea, Ocean, Joy, Cloud, Flower, Rock, Warrior, Eagle, Space, AprilRain, North.. Our last names are everyday words like my own means “Flagbearer” We also have made up names like “Gülse” father’s name’s first two/three words: Gül and mother’s names’s first two/three words: Se. Unfortunately very common in Turkey. Like Brad + Angelina Angebra. Anne+Adam Adanne.

Honestly a lot of English names are like that, but they come from other languages that influenced English-speaking cultures so it's less obvious.

@@Trueneutral1071 if English isn't your native language, Teresa most likely sounds like TEH-REH-ZAH (I don't really know how to write sounds, maybe more like TEY-REY-ZAH?), so it's a bit hard to get the joke if you don't hear it (I had to try and imagine how it could sound similar after reading your comment)

The joke is that regardless of whether or not the person is saying the name(s) correctly, she’s still going to keep ‘correcting’ them-just to mess with them, like she did here. It makes people uncomfortable bc they want to get it right, esp. bc they aren’t names you’d hear everyday (at least not in the US or England, can’t really speak to anywhere else). If you know B99, it’s similar to the Nikolaj/Nikolaj joke. Also, boiled down/combined, the names = Hungry bellies
They should name the baby San Francisco at this pount

@@nickjones5222Now that's a hard one actually.You've got a point there.I was born in Oslo Norw.to a Norwegian/Danish mother & Russian/Finnish father.I still don't identify as a Norwegian,nor Russian person.Hardly Scandinavian.Mostly grew up in North West Europe so I identifiy as a European from Oslo I guess.🤔Father of my children is half Norwegian,half Estonian,his mother grew up in Germany but he was born in Austria.He identifies as a Norwgian tho'...I know ppl.from Scotland for instance who don't identifiy as British...To me a person from England is English,a person from Ireland from Irish & so on.Since I was born in Norway Ppl.tell me I should identifiy as a Norwegian,Scandinavian.It's annoying especially since they don't know much about my past/ upbringing in general.Some ppl.will probably think of you as a Brit but if you told me you wanted to be identified as English for instance,I'd respect your wish.Most "Scandinavian ppl."identify with their native country.As there is no such thing as a Scandivian passport.Not all ppl.from Europe identifiy as Europeans either.Just realised I made a whole topic out of this🙄☺🥴But I found your view somewhat interesting.
