Anne Boleyn Q&A Session with Claire Ridgway
Claire Ridgway, owner of this channel and founder of the Anne Boleyn Files and the Tudor Society, celebrated 10 years of the Anne Boleyn Files with a live Q&A session. This was a chance for viewers to ask Claire their questions on Anne Boleyn, her family and life.
Message from Claire: Thank you for all the wonderful questions. I'm so sorry that I could not answer all of them but I will definitely read them through and use them for future video ideas. Thank you!

Definitely awesome. Thank you dear lady for sharing your vast knowledge of Tudor history 🌹
Browsing "The Anne Boleyn Files" during this COVID lockdown time and ran across this post that I'd not seen. So Claire, you wanna' know if I liked this Q & A format? Darn right I did! Several questions posed I'd pondered myself, plus several were asked that I'd not been smart enough to formulate on my own. I feel like my head is swelled with Tudor knowledge right now. And someone named Daniel didn't like the Q & A format? There's always one in every crowd. It was a fantastic program. Thanks.

Very interesting
The Tudors was a visual feast. I really appreciated the fact that people like Eustace Chapuys, Charles Brandon, William Compton and Thomas Tallis were featured. Thanks for this video! Look forward to more xx
It's Sunday morning here and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who joined in the chat yesterday. I really appreciate everyone's patience as I'd never done a KZread live chat before, it was all very new! I just wanted to clear something up that was bothering me when I was trying to sleep last night (my brain was all 'abuzz'). When I talked about Percy and Anne, I didn't mean to use the word "betrothed". I don't believe they had a formal betrothal or precontract, but I do believe that they planned to marry and that this was stopped by Wolsey before any actual legal contract was made.

The sweethearts were torn apart for a marriage that fell through. Very sad. Ironic that Anne was then eligible for the very person who prevented her love match!

I watch your videos here in New Zealand and really enjoy them ,what passion you have for your subject, just wish I could join one of your tours .
Hi from New York! I definitely enjoyed this, it was very informative and it's always a pleasure to hear you. As a High School history teacher I love that you use primary sources and really take the time to carefully answer questions that people ask. Keep up the good work!
Love your program. Claire Ridgway, and your expanded, detailed life of Anne Boleyn, her relatives, friends and peers. I identify with her, in that I was born with an extra nail on each little toe. Not just that, but she was a fascinating person. So sorry she suffered such a tragic end.
Even though I’m not watching this live, I still love the laid back feel to this open conversation about Queen Anne Boleyn. Love all your vids. I’ve learnt so much about the Tudor era and think everyone who likes Tudor history would definitely think the same too! 👑
I would love to see more live , I think you did a fantastic job!
That was fantastic 👌🏻 The questions asked and answered were excellent! I could’ve easily listened for ANOTHER hour or two. 😆
Love your talks about Anne Boleyn. She’s one of my heroines!❤️
This was amazing and you should definitely do this again! Can you do a video talking about Henry’s leg injury the plagued him in later life?

I would also like to more about that subject. I'm sure that that must have contributed to his ill-temper. I can't imagine the suffering he must have endured do to that injury.
Yes, please! I would love to see another Live Chat. Thank you for taking the time to do this. Just getting into another of your Anne Boleyn books. Enjoying it! Watching this Q&A on Wednesday. the 27th. Missed it Sunday. Too much going on. Cheers and Best Wishes for continued success.
This was awesome. I was able to watch most of it live but had to cut it short for an appointment, so I finished up after it closed. I think you did a great job, you are very generous with your time and knowledge.

I love the bells. And I imagine they go off every hour. Sometimes the timing of the bells is so perfect.
Thank you Claire for sharing your wealth of knowledge. I’ve learned so much from you. 👍🌺🌺🌺. Oh yes, and I love to hear those bells!
Wonderful Q&A! I love the bells. Thank you!
Just discovered your channel today - I'm going to enjoy watching through all your videos and love the bells by the way! 😂
I love these questions and answers thanks Claire again for the truth!
Since, you now live in Spain please consider doing a video that talks about Spain's reaction to Catherine of Aragon's death on Jan. 7, 1536. What did Spain know or what did they ever find out about how she was treated? Thank you for your consideration.

Hi Claire and Tim, I really enjoyed the live chat. I'm from Oklahoma. I hope you do more live q and a's. Love your videos and books! Really appreciate your work!
I’m so glad I found this channel. Thank you.
Definitely and thoroughly enjoyed the live vlog. Thank you!
I wasn't able to watch live which in one way was a shame but in another way, I didn't mind too much because I had my beautiful daughter and gorgeous grandbaby girls with me until today but I have just watched it all and thoroughly enjoyed it. I think you are wonderful and I love all the videos I've seen so far. You've really sparked my interest in Tudor History. I hope you do another live Q and A session in the future. Also, I'm glad you can't do anything about the bells; they certainly do ring at opportune moments and I love that. Thank you for giving your time to educate us all like you do. Best wishes, Ann :)
Yes, please do more of these. Thank you for the informative videos.
Oh Claire I loved it loved it. I have become a real fan my only sadness is that my mother his not lived to see this
SO much to enjoy on your channel. Just took possession of your books on George Boleyn and Anne Boleyn. Great reading ahead.
I watch your videos all the time and I’ve learnt so much! It’s made my interest on tudors and Anne Boleyn grow so much and you’re such a lovely person to listen too and I genuinely get so excited when you post a new video! X
Excellent. Had to miss it live due to commitments, but caught up later and loved it all. I have a question about Henry's leg ulcer. When and how did this happen and how might it have impacted his self image as noble young prince and virile young king? Also how might this have changed his interpersonal relationships and even his monarchy. He was in pain all the time in his later years. This challenge must have changed him as a person. I'd love to learn more about this. Thanks so much.
Hi Claire, Thanks again for you live Q&A last night. You did exceptionally well as I knew you would. I enjoyed just listening to the questions and answers and the fact that people all over the world were connected to you and to each other through Anne. Also thanks for sharing your dream with us and how you turned something very frightening into something very positive. Can't wait for the next one. Cx

Yes. Enjoyed this
Hi from Mississippi! 😊 Just now catching up on this chat. Yes, please do more of these! Also, I can’t believe someone said they didn’t like the bells and asked you to stop them! As if you could. So rude.
I had to watch after the live event, as I was away attending a theatre performance. But I did enjoy this Q&A, as it added to my understanding of Anne Boleyn and Tudor history in an entertaining way.
Yes, I enjoyed this session!!!
Loved it. Thank you
Hi from Tennessee 🇺🇸 I so wish I had been able to watch live, but thoroughly enjoyed your Q & A. Please do another soon!
Love It! Please make more Q&A videos Claire. More, more, more!
Brilliant as usual.
I watched this just as a video, not a live session. I tend to have a short attention span, so prefer watching a video, as I tend to get up from them frequently. On the other hand, I can see how a live session would stimulate more conversation on the topic with more questions, so good in that way (what can I say? Classic Libra response).
Hi I'm from Essex England, really enjoy your videos Claire so glad I found your channel and love your quizzes you give your husband 😂 x
Regarding Henry VIII's jousting accident (as you said, he had multiple accidents) and the possible impact a traumatic brain injury might have had on his temperament, I recommend the documentary Inside the Body of Henry VIII. TBI can cause anger, irritability and aggression. Experts do a virtual forensic exam using historical records of the time. They debunked the belief that Henry VIII had syphilis. They also discussed the affects of the ulcer on his leg. The treatments were barbaric. Chronic pain can negatively impact a person's mood and behavior. Especially as the ulcer limited his physical activity. In short, just looking at Henry VIII's physical injuries and symptoms, these likely contributed, partially, to his increasingly unpredictable behavior.
Thank you! Do another Q & A!
I absolutely love your Channel ! I have always been fascinated by Tudor History and Henry the Eighth and Anne Boleyn, e.t.c e.t.c , I find your Channel very Informative ,so Thank you !

Of course we have enjoyed it. Very interesting.
I have loved watching your you tubes on Anne! Montana USA! Great content on the Q and A!
Hello from Louisiana. I have been obsessed with th Tudors
Fascinating listen, thank you 😊
Perfect timing by the church bell. It was as if it were reminding the person complaining about the bells, "I'm here!"
Hello! I'm very late to the party but you were lovely and fascinating as always. I hope that you will do another live again and that maybe I can catch it in real time!
Aaah! I got home about 15mins after the live stream was over. I'll have to make some time to watch it.
I really enjoyed this and would like to see more.
I enjoyed the question and answer session and would like many, many more! Thank you. Stella Obonna Baton Rouge, Louisiana
I really enjoyed watching this,, even though it was not live for me,, I think it is Terrific Bravo well done,,
I missed the live feed and watched it 13 hours later. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole 90 minutes and would love to see you do another. If i was to have asked a question it would have been about Anne's accent. As she spent a lot of her life in France, would she have spoken in a slight French accent. The BBC programme Wolf Hall had her doing so.
Edmonds Washington, north of Seattle! Love Tudor history.
Almost a year late, but I really enjoy your videos. Please do more. Happy New Year 2020! 🇨🇦👏🎉
I missed you live due to work. I am loving your channel! My names Summer and I'm from roswell, NM USA.
Loved the q and a.
As always you are engaging and enlightening
Loved it👍😊 please do it again it made My day🤗
My question would be, why has no one since especially in our time, dare overrule, declare, Anne´s sentence for null and void? Why are people in charge scared to do so? Another question would be, why has the royal house not spoken of this horrid abuse of royal power? Why has the royal house not said, listen this case needs to be opened up and re done? what are those in charge scared of?

I suspect that it is so far in distance memory that they see no need to go through the expense & research that the task would entail.
Great feed Claire! Thanks so much!!
Thank you for uploading this because I missed it. I have the flu and was asleep. :( I really wanted to ask about what you thought Anne & George's views on the reformation really was? I have read a lot into it & I'm curious if Anne really was passionate about having the bible in English and what was going on in the Catholic church that they witnessed..was it just the English bible or did they have different beliefs on mass etc. Okay, I'm going to actually watch the video. Hope you go live again soon!
Late watching but YES I ABSOLUTELY enjoyed this ....more please
hello from Lima, Peru. I adore this!
I am a little late to the show but I just want to say is I love your history about Ann and Henry . I actually have you on auto play while I'm cleaning my house . O and this is my hubby profile but he loves you too. Thank you so much
6:20 The thing about the guard being killed was probably in reference to the dramatization of the coronation parade on the show, The Tudors, where there is an assassination attempt and instead, someone misses, and a guard behind them is shot.
Greetings from Lancaster, PA, USA. This video was very enjoyable! I look forward to seeing more! I, also, am interested in the Tudor period. Have you seen "Wolf Hall" which is about Thomas Cromwell? The last episode showed Ann being executed with the sword. Claire Foy's performance was excellent - I was experiencing some of the fright she portrayed.
