Lurker1979 too bad they only listen to the stuff that's been played in the show and almost nothing else. None of them bother to delve deeper into and honestly, Shigatsu barely even scratched the surface with classical music(colloquial) but hey, I can respect the fact that they didn't go only after the big cats and the most known stuff.(the stuff that was played was not obscure but wasn't the overplayed stuff)

+abdolwahed alwaer i agree and disagree the same time although the anime had an impact to me towards classical I've always liked Beethoven, Bach, and Mozart I remember my older sister listened to classical music when she was still studying

I've heard so many violinist playing this piece, but hers is by far the most packed with emotions, genuine and natural, nothing trying. It's named "Love's Sorrow", but I could hear no painful regrets, only the recalling of memories, both bitter and sweet, both deserve to be remembered and treasured.

I'm really glad that they made Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. It did not only make people get interested in classical music, but that was the only anime that made me laugh, cry, and got me utterly heartbroken all the same time. I am also a violinist like Kaori and I can relate deeply to her feelings, especially to her intimate love with music. Oh God, I'm crying right now, I just hope that the ending will not get so so sad :

it's was really really bad...make me feel so sad

I could be just some weird person for posting this, but I certainly can feel the passion she put into this. Not many violinists I've met would play a song with their feelings, and put their all into it, but this woman has moved me in such a way that I could possibly feel her emotions when playing this melody.

The whole point of music and especially of the romantic era such as this piece was to express emotion so whoever doesnt can go * themselves if theres no emotion theres no music its just sound

After seeing this, I now realize that I confuse playing loudly for playing passionately. It really takes a lot of skill to pass emotions such as love and tenderness through a violin. When I think of how I play this piece, it just sounds angry and pompous. *sigh* I have a lot of work to do....

I feel ya man, the only piece I've been able to put emotion into was the Swan Lake Finale and that was because it was meant to be dramatic and loud. I've been playing this piece all week trying to figure out how I'm going to inject the right emotion. With time, I guess.

Equilia mostly in music school, we were taught to be as precised as what is laid in the sheet, without knowing the story of the sheet, so we don't know how to show the emotion when we play a sheet

to be quite honest, i came here from your lie in april. however, this interpretation of this piece is absolutely amazing and as i write this, i have goosebumps. she plays it with so much passion and emotion poured into it-- i aspire to be as good as she is and be able to convey my emotions through a piece like she did with this song.

at frst part the music is slow means ur alone going with ur life and find someone you fell for u pursue him or her and music stops scond part is kinda jolly hapy means u are in relation happy fresh love birds and third part is sad slow again means quarells in relation same way it goes up n down n finally ends smooth - love sorrow 😊 well the piano version gives the story more clearly though

This, Loves Sorrow, was written after he created Loves Joy. If you listen to the other one, its very similar, and the happy tones in this one would reflect that song. They make a beautiful pair.

Nadira Nan W I always imagined the song's story to be between two lovers, destined for love but to never happen, not separated by families, but by death, the happy parts of the song are simply the memories of the lovers, kind of cliché but meh, I like it

Anne is so underated its sad. We see videos with millions of hits that are absolute junk, and this beauty doesnt even have 500k in views yet

Her interpretation of the piece is just magnificent, the slowed down tempo and each long sustaining note draw out the most beautiful emotions

Even though I love the complexity of Rachmaninoff's version, the subtlety of the violin makes this one to be perfect.

I’ve always loved classical music since I started piano (I was 5 (I’m now 15)) and this piece was apparently the first piece of music I ever heard as my parents played this while I was still being “developed”. This piece has always stuck with me and I even played it for my grandma the night before she died. This piece will always be in my life and I hope it continues.

i played the violin for 2 and 1/2 years but I stopped playing going into quarantine, this makes me want to pick it up again!

Hauntingly beautiful performance. It's amazing how much emotion the artist conveys throughout. And the Molitor has such a crisp sound.

Her music like reaches out of the video and smacks you so you focus on her HAHAHAHA. Also!!! She kinda looks like Callie from Grey's anatomy ;D

This is simply brilliant. I'm aware of no other rendition that does justice to the spirit of this piece the way Meyers/Uchida do. I listened to this clip dozens of times now.
