Bravo Luca I’m playing the devils advocate and while I agree with Tim, I can also understand why she refused as celebrities are not obligated to take a photo with you and they do have their right to their privacy and space. She wasn't named in "Devil wears Prada", if you recall - that was a caricature easily recognized based on her reputation from long before the book or film, earning her the nickname, "Nuclear Wintour". Since she has been reported to have these negative personality traits from many people who worked closely with her for many years, the impression is more lasting and likely to give more insight, (albeit obscured by exaggeration) than judging by a five minute edited interview where she knows she's being watched and judged. It is good to remember that what we know from fiction is just that: fiction. When it is based on reality - such as Lauren Weisberger's book was based on a non-fictional account of her experiences, written first as a 100 page manuscript - it does not mean everything is factually accurate, only that is one person's experiences, from her point of view, satirized for entertainment. Judging by accounts and her own actions and words, is Anna Wintour critical, demanding, decisively uncompromising, intimidating and self-entitled? Highly likely. She's a lot more than the sum of the negative attributes, as well. She's human. Any account or interview cannot encompass one's entire personality or portray everything Anna Wintour is and does.

This year was probably my favorite of the Met - Rihanna always brings it, Zendaya, Lana del Ray, Chadwick Boseman- RIP, Blake Lively, Ariana Grande, Amanda Seyfried, SZA oh! there were a bunch more who really killed it that year.

A few years back my friend was working on a set in LA as a stylist. He said everyone there was instructed to not make eye contact when she entered the room.

Her voice is so infectious

I kinda like that shy, withdrawn demeanor she carries. She's actually quite an attractive lady.

She is a beautiful charismatic woman but she is no McQueen. She has no great contribution to the world of fashion, and her fame was based on who her husband is/was. Definitely not deserving to be placed in the hall of fame or anything.

HARVEY was guilty of that, he tainted the brand and he no longer profits from it: Georgina divorced him, and now it's no longer funded by him: she doesn't deserve to be punished, she didn't endorse his behavior, she's shown she doesn't condone it and she's done the right thing. Also, her fashions are very feminine and well-liked. I get that's not everyone's thing but, nothing is. No one invented the wheel in fashion and no one gets to label what is art.

Two things: 1. My fave look of this year’s gala was from Kate Bosworth, who wore what I interpreted to be Mary Mother of God/girl having her first communion. 2. I am glad that Scarlet Johansson wore a dress by Marchesa. Georgina Chapman was not the abuser, Harvey Weinstein was. Georgina should not be vilified for the abhorrent behavior of her husband. I’m glad Scarlet wore Marchesa’s design in support of Georgina. The ‘MeToo’ movement is really loosing its credibility if they are now attacking people who are actual allies of the movement.

There's the #metoo of the people and there's the me too of the media who'll jump on any chance to judge and condemn to get page views. Some decades ago it was all about "Christian" morality and prudeness, judging outfits and song lyrics, warning against videogames leading to violence etc. Nowadays it's "woke" morality, nitpicking behaviors and statements and everything passing some inclusivity test. It's all a game to them and a shame they tarnish the normal people who espouse these values by making them seem crazy and in constant outrage. It's good when celebrities try to tone down the crazy rather than joining the blame choir to get moral points. Ms Chapman is a human first, either married to a potential monster and questioning her entire life and choices or the wife of a man being condemned for things he didn't do or whose crimes are made to look worse than what they were. She at least deserves to be left out of this.

In the end, Zendaya and Cara Delevingne were best dressed. There is a fine line between being in a theme and dressing as a theme. Rihanna will forever be the queen of the Met Gala for her 2015 and 2017 looks, but her look this year was like dressing up for Halloween. It was like “what is the theme? Alright, I’ll dress like that, and as exuberant as possible, so everyone sees me.” This is what Lagerfeld managed not to do with Chanel: falling into the clichés. Because then it’s just costuming, and not really dressing for a theme. At the Met, you can ask for the best high fashion there is, round looks, that are thought out and on point to the last curl of hair. Looks that embody quality, real style. Last year and in 2015, Rihanna did that. She wore great clothes, perfect looks, and original touches. Gigi Hadid’s look from last year is another perfect example: the train being in diagonal with the side of her head where the hair was let loose, and on the other just the leg with, in diagonal, sleek back hair and no sleeve. Everything was calculated, the colours, the roundness, it was such a perfect look. But this year, Rihanna was just a girl on a costume party. And don’t get me started on those other people who now have extremely lots of money, and buy the most expensive things what have no style whatsoever. The cheapness was popping, indeed. But then, this year, and last year, Zendaya and Cara really killed it. Zendaya is the one I adore because she always is so refreshingly creative. Changing hair, people’s perceptions, not portraying a theme, but a philosophy, a way of being, a certain type of person she embodies that evening, and has her own story, beauty, opinions, life. She will never follow the rules, and still forever be superior to all those celebrities who pay for followers. Cara, on the other hand, is extremely bold. Her 2017 silver skull look was certainly the best red carpet look I’ve ever seen. She just always is so intriguing, because though we don’t know what she wears, we always stop because it is beautiful, as strange as it may seem. Cara’s look this year was just as good: extremely freeing, showing lots of skin, but everything under a net, actually not showing anything, being very “catholic”. Sad, that Anna isn’t seeing the best dressed.
