Netrebko is at best, an ok singer...I'm being generous...She's usually sloppy..in her singing and acting, if one can call it that.

Bravissima Anna! Grande interpretazione sentita e commovente espressione di un’eccellenza come davvero poche ce ne sono . Eccezionale davvero.

Sensational! Her sound is as always, simply gorgeous. Some phrases from this aria reminded me of the Duchess Elena's aria from Vespri Siciliani, we heard it live at La Scala in February with Marina Rebeka. She was also extraordinary but Anna's voice is simply divine. Bravissima, Diva Anna! ❤ and it would be nice to hear other singers from this seemingly beautiful production - Francesco Meli, Elina Garanča, Michele Pertusi. What a great theater, a shrine of the opera, grazie!

I don’t know anything about this singing but too me it sounded beautiful not perfect as there’s no such thing.

Good singing but far from perfect. Exquisite voice and the usual breathing problems when singing late Verdi. I like her very much, though. She is a fantastic singer overall, a true diva.

The great Elena Obraztsova used to teach that an opera singer should open their mouth like a cobra, not like a suicase. Here we see a perfect example of the suitcase technique.....

She was a mezzo, often a contralto, her great role was The Countess in La Dame Pique. With that part you can almost speak, not sing.

Lise Davidson sang much much better in.

Netrebko sings the high notes with great tension, almost shouting. She abuses the low notes and the chest voice. Verdi's idea is contrast high and low notes, not dominance. Not for La Scala!

Dear Sir: Madame Netrebko is a very talented lazy and conceited woman. There are high and low voices. The low singuers must train her ability to reach high notes, it is achieved thanks to daily work of many hours of training. If the singer is a hard worker and a stubborn athlete, she gets it. But with high voices it is almost impossible to sing low (an example of Caballe singing Tu che le vanita is almost an exception). Netrebko could be a diva, but she hasn't gotten it because she is lazy and conceited. Answering her question if there are important voices in current opera. I think so, but they don't succeed in the most important opera houses, because they don't have Madame Netrebko's physique. And that speaks badly of the audience, because the public is very superficial, nothing educated and is not capable of appreciating the singing in itself. Best regards. @@orlandofurioso2034

How is this perfect? Muffled sound, as usual from Netrebko, hollow lower register, thin upper register, expressionless singing and lack of phrasing. This is not what an exciting performance is about. How La Scala keeps engaging such singers is beyond me. This should be a stage for the best, not for the average, past their prime (if there ever was one in this case) performers.

When Caruso came to his native Naples (just to die there) he gave a couple of performances and public (all like you) was saying:"It is not even good.Onestly : it is bad". Well, Caruso died shortly thereafter and, what? was he forgotten? was he listed among the worst singers of his time? and so on. And if Netrebko will, like Lady Diana, die in the car crush tomorrow, will she be listed as bad singe of her generation? Have you watched her in Il Puritani? in Manon? in Elixir D'amore, in Don Pascuale? in Anna Bolena? In Lucia di Lamermur?, in Il Trovatore? and so on And her Mimi , and her Violetta....? these all are bad for you?! And, incidentally, who are you to judge her ???? Are you upset that direction of La Scala had not consulted you concerning suitability of Anna for the opening night performance of Don Carlo? I would advise you to take regularly lots of laxatives. Then, hopefully, you will have less ugres for farting in public.
