I like slow. Slow and steady wins the race. My favorite form of chess is classical.

I would love to meet Anna in a heartbeat, or simply interview her as an aspiring podcaster/streamer myself! In all seriousness, your channel has rekindled my love for chess. I used to play religiously as a teen, and fell off later in my life, but this has made me want to pick it back up and play and learn more. And I, too, have my own opening I have created that only works if my opponent allows it lol! I nicknamed mine the Phalanx based on how it's shaped and formed, only if it gets fully executed.

Anna, I truly enjoy watching your games, especially the reviews of the contests. It has me getting more interested in chess than I have been for many years. I really LOVE the commentary from Pia. The blitz games are cool, but it's often curious to me in the longer competition games, when you slip up by seemingly not having learned all the core openings. Have you ever put in the time with your parents, or have you forgotten the openings? I certainly cannot play at your level, but it just struck me as interesting. As to when the clock is getting low, we all start getting stressed watching, because well... it's Anna! Most of us truly want you to win all the time!

agreed. it would help if anna could pick up her early mid game slightly but she is still incredible at chess

anna has had so much practise having to go fast when in time trouble she's actually better at bullet than longer forms

Somewhat true, but who says that's a weakness? On speed chess, perhaps but it's not an issue with classic. As Bobby says, "All I am interested in is good moves!"

You play bullet chess well! Your time failures come in tournaments where you have time to think, and you end up taking too much time... then you lose! Happens time and time again! Again, bullet chess is not your problem!

The "TOO SLOW" crowd are just empty talkers on the internet. You have succes, and envy by people who have been and still are failures comes automatically. I would never bother to watch a channel I don't like and write bad comments for hours.

I have no idea why some chatters call you a turtle based on the amount of times between moves. You are more like a tortoise which is slower. Heh.

The other day I tried to find out what the song was by googling some of the lyrics, but I couldn't find it. I have done this before with songs she plays but I rarely find them. I like her taste in music.

It's silly that people get upset with you when you don't play your best, of course, but they only do that because they really want you to win! Usually people only get mad like that at their favorite sports teams when they lose. If people weren't genuinely pulling for you, they wouldn't care when you lose.

All I say is...Anna can do no wrong...and I am stupid.

first game proves it... dont get me wrong @anna i think you are extremely good at chess... you just, for some reason, take your time(sometimes A LOT of time) towards late early or early mid game... So much so that your opponents get an advantage on you by over a minute(in 5 min games) and ive seen over 30 minutes in a 1.5 hour game... and thats just within the first 20 moves... i think you overthink slightly in that late early game stage... And before you say it, you would beat me, im only 1800-1900 range, but i watch alot of gm's play, and one thing they have in common is they are smooth the first half then use their time for tough situations 3/4ths of the game in... and maybe if a million people are saying the same thing, atleast consider that they may have valid thoughts instead of getting upset and challenging everyone... people like you and just want to see you do well(including me)
