Animation PreProduction - Adobe After Effects tutorial

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Before you make awesome animation you must plan awesome animation, and this is how. We talk briefly about the steps for organizing and honing your project from script, A/V Script, storyboard, and animatic. Along the way all the crap should be filtered out before you waste time making bad motion graphics.
If you have any questions just let me know in the comments.

    Great! For self taught guys like me (not "self" taught, actually. Guys like you are the teachers) this is a really useful tutorial. Not many animators show you how to think and plan things before the animation process, so thank you, Evan. Have a good day.

    Your stuff is always awesome and informative, man. And your humor makes it much easier to digest than dry tutorials. Keep 'em coming. By the way, do you use Element 3D or Cinema4D (lite) much/at all ?

    I don't do much in 3d to be honest. I tend to skew more to 2d and flat style. Also I try to avoid 3rd party plugins that many people won't have access too. Now that C4D is included though I might start talking a bit about that down the road.

  • @VFXProductionsTokyo
    @VFXProductionsTokyo10 жыл бұрын

    What I do on C4D is barely manage to launch it. Anything you do - absolute bare minimum basics - will delight a lot of people. Maybe just some of the smallest ways we 'have' to use it it some cases in an AE workflow. Fingers crossed. You rock !

    Hey man, I used to do just storyboards but I'd struggle with other elements of pre-comp. This really helped me out, not just for AE, but film design and general thinking. I've been watching your videos while learning AE and you earnt yourself a new sub! :D Do you do tutorials based on comments? Becuase I could use your help.

  • @ECAbrams

    matiilup that's usually how compression works. You can have a small file or high quality but not both at the same time. The colour space of h.264 is good enough for youtube videos though so long as your bitrate and colour channels are high enough.

    Thanks for laying that out. I am struggling with an Ad I need to make for my NYC trip, and this will help structure my production of it better. Now, you want to give me the idea part of what I want to put in it? Besides NYC pics/video. My words are failing me this week :(

  • @ECAbrams

    @ECAbrams

    10 жыл бұрын

    What else needs to be in there? Map, photos, videos, that's a trip. Though videos of what and photos of what is another matter. Explosions? Infographics of fun vs milage? An odometer? A speedometer? A pedometer? The statue of liberty fighting king kong? Boobs? Butts? I don't know, I don't go on trips.

  • @LetsGoRoadTrippin

    @LetsGoRoadTrippin

    LOL... I love some of those ideas. I didn't expect you would actually respond. Speaking of boobs, did you know that it is LEGAL for a woman to go completely topless in public in NYC? As long as it is not for commercial use. You are free to interpret that as you wish. I might stick a map in there, that would probably be good. I think you need to get out of your no trip slump and go on this one. ;) Check it out! www.letsgoroadtrippin.com/2/post/2014/01/explore-nyc.html

    i love motion graphics BUT OMG it takes alot time to come up with something worth watching and lonnnnng hours working on the same project and people need to know that a clip of 2-3 mins takes weeks and sometimes months (if youre trying to put 3d in it like me)

  • @ECAbrams

    @ECAbrams

    What kinds of things are taking months? I suppose if someone is fine to be billed for the hours it's more power to you but it seems like there must be faster methods.

    well 90% of my work is done in cinema 4d and i try to mix 2d and 3d for most of my work and before Cineware it was hard but mostly time consuming and then add the render time and may be it takes more time for me because i track live footage but overall stll takes alot of time, And i really hoped that were better and faster methods but there isn't .

    Stop lying. I know you're a genius and you don't do any of that stuff. You just turn on the computer, light up AE and pump out a brilliant animation without any forethought. Why are you trying to slow us down and confuse us with using pens and paper and all this extra stuff? Shame on you Evan, Shame!
