As someone who did stop-motion animation for four years, I resonate with this whole video My biggest reason for quitting stop-motion was that nothing _ever_ goes as planned. I can live with the tedium of small precise motions, I can live with accidentally bumping into the camera, I can even live with not being able to alter frames afterwards. But the thing I _cannot_ live with is the myriads of tiny complications which eventually snowball into "the entire latter half of this scene needs to be rewritten to get it to work", because nine times out of ten whatever I come up with at that point was worse than what I'd initially planned.
I hope Rob got a raise for sitting there painstakingly in the same position

In 2010 in my senior computer class we had to do a project with film. So I decided to do a stop motion with the white board at the front of the class. I tied a dry erase marker to two fishing strings with an adjustment height string and slowly moved the marker around while tapping twice on the cameras record button and drew lines at a up close of what it was drawing. And at the end of the video it zooms out to the marker spelling The End. My computer teacher still uses that video to teach his class today.

Rob: join jazza studios, they said. They’ll pay you for doing what you love, they said. His hand: *imma end this man’s whole career* 😂😂😭😂
Jazza: Rob's arm is dead! Rob: *stares nervously at camera*
I've always had big respect for stop motion animators. I think I first learned how it was done as a kid and I remember just being blown away by the amount of work this takes. Of course now you have predictive programming that cuts out a lot of the work but wow!
Have you ever considered doing an animation where with every frame the animation gets more detailed? For example: you start with a stick figure an at the end there is something really epic.
@noahshad09
Жыл бұрын
This is the most vague example I have ever seen
@kanetashadowfall4569
Жыл бұрын
Oh yeah and it was super frustrating because you have to draw each and every detail per frame and not to mention it was in 24 frame per second and the amount of mistake and undo's i did made me abandon the project
The fact he came back the next day to actually enjoy the animation is really relatable to be honest. After I’ve animated something that took a long time, I always feel like I can appreciate it more after I haven’t been staring at it for the past 3 hours.
The narrative went from "they can make friends!" to "everyone dies"
I love the blending of real and drawn. I might have to try something like this! And well done to Rob…such a great arm model!
Everyone else: That stop motion animation is amazing! Animator vs animation awesome! Me: What equation did Jazza use? Does he know that the answer is just V0W⁶?
I wasn't expecting a casual Ainsley voice popping in like that- you spooked me a lil bit. Really cool video- Rob was a great hand model and the animation was super fun!
Animation has always seemed super insane to me on a creative level because you're not just working with space, you're working with time and have to be consistently aware of it's passing on almost a meta level of awareness. Just so many things to juggle artistically.
Stop animation is underrated the amount of work that went into this for just a few glorious seconds of animation
Well done boys. Rob, I am quite sure he could have ordered a prosthetic arm, obviously your company was most enjoyed.
I can't remember the last time I saw a Jazza video that was just inspiration and not a sales pitch for something.
I have litterally made it a goal for me to be better at stop motion this year ,and this method with the board looks even better than using playdoe I love it😍
Rob: The prettiest model out there

Great to see jazza doing more stop motion. I've been a stop motion animator for the last 10 years and the frustration I see here is the same I feel most days haha but as ever you make something phenomenal
The animation turned out so great! Love this video and was really fun to see the vlog too. I know Jazza did all the drawing but Rob, hand model extraordinaire, is the star of this one.
I’m getting flashbacks to just binging Alan’s “stickmen vs. [BLANK]” all the time.
I am such a fan of the whole stick figure animation. This video was very satisfying to watch. Thanks for you and your for putting in quality time and effort.🙂
another version, with a realtime hand, and the stickfig after, means you can do alot more, have the hand out of frame many times so you can add and subtract scenes, and different attacks on each other.
Props to Rob!! It was all worth it mate, for that sloppy high five at the end xD
I'm sure others have mentioned Alan Becker, but this reminded me of him. A collab between you two would be epic someday =) Also, poor Rob! I'm sure that day seemed to last forever to him.
Can we appreciate how jazza gets straight into the video 😊
Jazza is the only person I know that really haven't lost his inner kid, it is so cute to see him hype when he try something new and it ends to be what he wanted 🤗
You're telling a story with that and it's not always going the way you planned. Now you know what a writer goes through when a character starts to change the story. You always have to remember the personality of the character and sometimes event's that you put in the story cause you to go outside that and it's a whole rethink and edit. The end product is so worth it because even with the frustration, you do it because you love it. 😁👋💖
They all seems to be growing beards, first jazza, then Rob, now Dave. Waiting for Jen to start growing one now..

Animator VS animation style, that's really nice!
That animation was just perfection. It was so short and "sweet", it made me laugh 😁
i would LOVE to see you take on sculpting and painting an anime figure. i fully believe you could achieve results as amazing as some of the magic cube figures. i.e. the shinobu, mitsuri, and rengoku figures.
1. Fricken love ya Jazza! 🤩🎨 2. A good thing I learned to do for Animations is to make a flip book because it's technically the same thing just on paper. That way you can see how your scenes look already, redo what you drew on the paper onto the screen, and you can see what needs to be fixed in between. But at least it helps for beginners! 😁😁😁
I don't know if Rob was hamming it up for "the bit" or what but I'm actually concerned about him. Be careful with your employees and what you ask of them, Jazza! It's hard to say no to your boss, you know?
Admit it, rob is the real hero here. THANK YOUUUU ROBBB!!! ✨✨✨
There was a website I use to love to death that had stickman games and animations. I’d spend hours laughing with my brother and watching them, fascinated by the way it worked. This video reminded me of how much I love this style, so thanks Jazza for helping me remember the things I had forgotten :)

Did Rob know what he was getting into? Great animation!
Animation starts 12:55
This reminds me of my second attempt with the Sketch Collab event. I was trying to do a ballerina animation but stopped part way thru to experiment with another animation idea. Of course all that hard work was trashed when my original frames got erased and was jumbled with the frames from the experiment. Had to do a new animation from scratch (on the day it was due) and barely got it done. A fascinating watch that brought back lots of memories.
Just finished a jazza vid, love that there's a new one now!
This reminds me of Animator vs Animation ❤️ amazing throwback
The final result is incredible! Well done!
Not only do I LOVE your art and creativity, but especially your spirit and never-failing ability to make me smile/laugh as I watch each video!
Hey Jazza I have an interesting proposition for you: I was goin through some old toys and found a bunch of small army men. They are bad quality and most of their weapons are flimsy or broken (also my dog got a hold of some of them so some have less limbs). Obviously I didn’t care for them anymore but I didn’t want to create a bunch of waste by throwing them away so i thought about selling them. I then realized nobody’s gonna want these crappy things. I thought for a while and some how you crossed my mind this is a weird offer I know buuuuuut do you want them. I was thinking you could fix them up and give them a nice paint job and maybe make a zombie-military diorama with them. I would’ve done this myself but I lack artistic ability. It’s okay if you don’t cause this is very random idk why I thought you would want these crappy army men but anyways......uhhh think about it..........maybe sorry for making this such a long comment. Also I love your videos byeeeeeeee

I have to say this video is.. somewhat in reverse from what I would like 🙂 If you stated "ok today we will do stopmotion animation or something, here is the result and then - we did it this way. I would enjoy it several times more, than to see the process, spoil whole "story" and then see it again :-)
Currently going through some tough times man so I be been drawing/painting like crazy my mind just goes free + Jazza’s attitude is actually helping even if it’s a little and I just wanna say thank you for that :,)
The animation is so satisfying and those dynamic actions are soo good.❤️ There will be always change of plans in story board while progressing, thats true 😅, new ideas will comes to mind frequently...
