Chapter 29: A Final Apcolypse

Kiana knew about the Herrscher of Void. She knew about the destruction she nearly caused, and she knew she could cause it again if she were to lose control. She went to Arc City to escape, to protect all her friends from a new catastrophy, not to save the city. She didn't knew about the place, she didn't knew anyone. She spent her days roaming the street, homeless, hungry, alone, chased by honkai beasts. Destruction followed her and would hurt civilians. She contemplated suicide, hoping her death would put an end to the circle of violence. Then she learned about the bomb. About the consequences for Arc City as a whole if it were to detonate. She knew the honkai energy irradiating from the bomb would cause her awakening, trigger the very thing she had beeing attempting to escape. It could kill her, it could kill everyone she knew. But she was the only one with a small chance to prevent the catastrophy. So she went in anyway. To save a city she had no connection with. Just because she had a chance to make things better. She went in knowing fully the risks and the consequences of her actions. She was terrified, but she went in anyway. Kiana is a fucking hero.

I'm not undermining Kiana's character development, but your story telling make it seem like she was lonely throughout this chapter. Fu hua really helped her push through and helped her keep Sirin submerged and not take over of her again.

She had some major character growth. She went from an overconfident dolt to a reasonably confident cool-headed and calculated person. She is still reckless because that is in a Kaslana's blood just as much as terrible culinary skills are.

The Japanese dub is just an excuse for me to rewatch this masterpiece

@@juzyx At this state there's no point to bring her back. 1. She'd still die from the artificial stigmata implanted within her. 2. Overusage of honkai energy destroying her. In the Final Lesson CG, you could see purple lines appearing on Himeko. Which means a lot of Honkai energy was used. Her body might just vanish after falling.

@@kayquexavier It's impossible. Sirin also tried to do the same thing but failed. Her "mom" she "revived" turned into ashes after a few moments. To truly revive someone you must fully understand what a soul is. Which is why Sirin failed.

I never realized even after 2 years but at 4:08 it showed Kiana flying directly in front of the moon, a reference to Mihoyo's first game and foreshadowing for way ahead in the story. I can't believe I missed this detail when I first read this part.

it’s been three years and yet NO one has done it like her.

Kiana feels like a bratty little sister who we get to watch grow up over time. The game does a good job with getting you attached to the character.

To bes honest, the quality of the game is really good but what always pushed me away was all the mecha shit and how overloaded some of the interfaces are.

It's payback, Kiana is basically doing the same

When the somber music starts showing the city without power, I imagine life support being completely destroyed and that humanity is doomed, hearing and seeing many people tear up knowing their time has come, when the music starts picking up on the rhythm a spark happens on the cables, the people look at it, more and more sparks appear everywhere and they can only look at them. Until when the music reaches its peek the entire city just blooms back to life, at that point you can hear them cheering in tears and loud to their savior(Kiana)

I really love Japanese version but in the Chinese I think that Kiana sounds older and more mature. (Same for Seele)

Fun fact: no matter how grown-up Kiana is, we will forever call her *Tuna*

this kind of cgi animation quality would be hella expensive for an entire anime season but I would even settle for just regular anime quality(with perhaps a sprinkle of this every now and then especially on major battles) as long HI3 gets an anime adaptation about the main story(just in case someone mentions the cooking show).

I start playing this game seriously because of this cutscene and yesterday at 17 January 2021 I finally get through this chapter and cutscene. The goosebump is real and it's awesome to see Kiana finally able to use full Hersccher mode. Honkai Impact 3rd is really something when it comes to story base game. I'm not sure if Genshin Impact can do the same considering they both have different type of cutscene.. HK3 cutscene is base on CGI (3d + 2d) which makes the animation looks great and feels like Anime while Genshin Impact animation is full 3D graphic and Animation.

Firefly in 2.3 be like:

If Honkai Impact ever get an anime with Sawano Hiroyuki's ost.. my life will be completed..

Unpopular opinion here, but I prefer Dian Tao as Kiana over Rie Kugimiya. Like I LOVE Rie in almost all her roles, except Kiana. Just compare the delivery of how Kiana reacts to Himeko's Himeko's appearance in this short. The Chinese version just has so much more solemn emotion, while in the JP dub she just sounds kinda surprised? I just think Kiana's JP voice really doesn't suit her character, especially with her current characterization.

Honkai Impact 3rd is without a doubt the first true game that can be called such for mobile. Lore, graphics, gameplay, everything is worthy of praise

even better, when she's trying to extract the Honkai from the device, the corruption gets so bad that her hands turn purple and black, ever since this cutscene, she has worn gloves and once she becomes Herrscher of Finality, her hands are visible again, showing that the Honkai is quite literally at her fingertips. they played 4D chess with this foreshadowing.

Say what you want, this game is extremely underrated and deserves so much better

Kiana has changed so much throughout the story. All of this is so amazing and I love it so much!

The animation is so much awesome. I really love it. +plus knowing that Kiana saved this world and kept her promise to Himeko make me More Proud of her. And im happy thats shes my favorite character since ive the first time ive played

Kiana is truly an inspirational character, but dang did her story hurt a LOT at times.

2:24 seems like a parallel to the Reburn CG 3:59 Kiana rising from the clouds parallels the first cg which has her falling from the clouds. 4:22 As for the moment the bomb exploded, it parallels Himeko’s final strike in the Final Lesson CG. Although it’s just a speculation. As for the OST “Starfall” is kinda reminds me of “Girl inside”, “Reburn”, “BeFall” and “Nightglow”.
