Animate Your Ai Characters. My Super Secret Software Tools of Choice.

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Let's get those Ai character creations out from midjourney and off those comic pages and panels and get them into a visual story with motion. There are a lot of different ways and a lot of different tools one can use to animate 2d ai art generated characters and there are also a lot of different techniques used to animte 2d images.
In this videos talk about the 4 categories of software you could choose, the pros and cons of each one when related to animating your ai art generated comic characters and which ones I would suggest starting or using.
Then i go over a few techniques and point out some things to look out for for when preparing a ai character for animation. Finally we talk about generation prompts and why I think game engines are the future of content creation experiences featuring ai art characters.

    Rendering and animation is out of the scope of what I do with my AI work, however I've passed your videos on to my high school students who are into this stuff and it's starting conversations. Thanks for your work Aaron. You're at the forefront of this AI/New Comic Workflow wave that will shift industries.

    Amazing video, thanks for sharing. Adobe Character Animator is the best in my opinion. No need for frame by frame stuff, and you can save replays and use hotkeys to perform different animations. Is it possible to do a video about backgrounds? I feel that environments and backgrounds take most of the time in drawing and design, assuming you have the characters rigged and ready to go. Your animation video is really amazing and im curious to know how you got the background in high resolution and in landscape, also how you separated some of the environment items to create that parallax effect. This would be useful for a series or multiple animation videos where we have the characters ready but the backgrounds will be an issue. Specially if we want to use multiple backgrounds of the same style.

    Quite shocked you missed out reallusions 2d stuff. Been watching vids on it and it looks awesome. They got a 3d package called iclone and they use actocore mocap actions which u can attach to your 2d characters. The unity thang looks awesome. If u done a course specifically on that i would be very interested.

    I have been using Blender and Davinci Resolve to animate my AI art. I figured out a lot of what you have said, and some was new. Is there a way to do the bone-warp method in Blender? Also, I use Unreal for rendering animations as well, and I don't think it has the capabilities that Unity does for this purpose. Also, besides the cinematic camera settings, does unity offer anything else that you don't have in Blender? All in all, I am really excited I found you, since this is exactly what I am busy with these days.

    Camp Peculiar, what about those of us that actually create our own 3d characters in a program like blender? How do we get the AI to take our model and do what we tell it to do with it? Like make a fight scene of conversational scene or a love scene from any angle?

  • @camppeculiar

    @camppeculiar

    Hi Kelly. This is a fantastic question and something a few campers have wanted to try. I would think, currently, the ai model would not repose a blender character render into a new pose...or it would but the results would be less than ideal. I think what we are shooting for now is to have the character rigged in blender, and do all the posing and basic layout. Then do an image prompt with that rendered imaged and some style descriptors in MJ or SD and see what happens. The big question is with AI make this proposed workflow unnecessary before it comes useful. I was going to do some tests with the Maya Morphues rig untextured just to see what Ai does with the pose silhouette.

    Funny story ... true story ... I've been using Unity for the last four years to do animations and storytelling, sometimes within games, sometimes not, but I've always felt like I was using a sledgehammer to hang a picture. You know, too much tool for the job. I spent 2022 learning to animate with Cartoon Animator 4, and now 5, and I am loving it. Especially the new spring bone features. Hair never looked so good. All of these features are in Unity too, and it's a great tool. It will always be my first and favorite. But CTA 5 is more along the "Right Tool for the Right Job" lines, and I highly recommend it.

    @@deano42 the thing that is stopping me from buying C Animate 5 is the lack of motors. I saw an amazing animation software years ago and it had 'motors'. One was wind, so the the character could stand there and wind would blow, hair ,dress and scarfs would react to the wind... Shame CA5 didnt introduce this....

  • @deano42

    @deano42

    Жыл бұрын

    @@armondtanz This is interesting. Yes, Unity has a way to do this ... to set up directional wind. In CTA5, setting the spring bones to the hair, clothing, etc. is half of the equation, but how to create a wind effect ... I'm sure it could be done. I'll do some research and see what I can find out.
