    It's awesome. Breaking down an animation in layers gives me a lot more overview of the things I need to do. Also allowing us artist to experiment easily

    great!! from India. As I'm going through your channel currently I get stuck on what best manner we can make an advanced rig for 3D characters to be for time efficient and also how we should get started with character animation, any suggestion or if possible please make complete go-through process video lectures on it if possible. Thanks,

    Thanks! Rigging I always use rigify. This rig is simple enough to adjust to your characters and add sample, like tails wings etc on the fly. How advanced you want to go completely depends on what your shot or sequences require of the character. Don't build in functionality just for the sake of having it. I totally understand that finding that line is difficult. The more you do it the beter you can judge it tho. If animation is what you really want to do.. consider finding a few rigged characters that work at a good quality. When you've got a few animations done. Make your own charactets en rigs. I know that is the most fun. I love to do that too

    @@MVARTZ okay, thanks. Also, there is lots of stuff with different content scattering on YT but I always wished to learn from a single source for a point so that I can understand the base concepts better but I lag to find from where I should get started, In animation part ONLY.

    @@anmol6835 I get that, i try my best to make videos as torough as possible. I do have to balance it with a full time job though. So I can't promise a full walk through soon. Find a source that matches with your style of learning is crucial to keep is fun and all. Keep in mind that you'll also copy the mistake of your preferred channel. Nobody is perfect. To combat that I always keep watching various channels to verify and learn different angles of attack.

    wait a minute are you suppose to leave the base layer alone and work on other layers while locking the base layer?

  • @MVARTZ

    @MVARTZ

    I wouldn't say you're supposed to do that, In my experience though, it makes things a lot easier to work like that. There are certain things that you can't do with the base layer. If you already animated on the base layer, just copy those keys, from all controllers and past them on a new layer. You can place this new layer a both the base layer and set it to replace instead of combine
