Another trick: If you play solo, the timer will start, as soon as you have your fishing rod in hand - so instead of terraforming you can put your rod away, talk to c.j., walk to some water and then take out the rod - the timer will start at THAT moment! Tysm for the video :3

It doesn't start when it's in your hand, but the timer is delayed 2-3 seconds when you don't have it in your hand^^

I'm still shocked that we can't buy fish bait. We can buy 'medicine' which is crafted in a similar way, using 1 wasp nest, can't be crafted in stacks.. URG I'm going to be crafting fishbait for days now 🤣😭

The rods actually cannot break during the event unless your character is still holding a fish at the end of the round. If you don’t have enough time to catch a fish and it rolls over past the timer then your rod will most likely break

Mario warp pipes are good for this. Place one just outside the tourney tent and place the other at your desired spot

unpopular opinion, but no. animal crossing is a life simulator game. you are supposed to take your time with it, and irl you don’t “bulk craft” things

Better tip for the fishing tournament use the pipes. Put one pipe on a good fishing spot on the beach, and one pipe right next to the plaza it takes exactly 10 seconds to get from the plaza to the beach but because you’re on the beach the fish generally tend to swim straight you won’t run into any of those fish swimming in circles away from your line. Plus you’re right there on the beach if you need more bait when you’re finished with a round.

fun fact: as long as u have the resident building upgraded to an actual building, the fishing tournament will still occur. i have a 1 star island & my resident building is upgraded but the fishing tourney is still happening on my island today

Beavers don’t eat fish (they are vegetarian) so he definitely won’t be eating them. Maybe he is being bullied by a big bear and buying the fish for him to eat

I used a Mario pipe from the Plaza to my Pier to save time on running all the way there 🤘🏼

me personally always bring fish food like a lot of it and it half works

Are there ways to help me collect fishing bait faster

The rod won’t break mid round it will break after and the points for the trophies add up even if it’s two different fishing tournaments

I wish they would increase the range a fish can see because trying to catch a fish in a small pond is beyond frustrating.

Does anyone know if your points collect even when you redeem prizes? Will my points spent on prizes deduct from my points towards a trophy?

It was mentioned in the video. It's one point per fish and if you catch three or more fish in a round, you get two bonus points. So, for example, two fish gives you two points and five fish gives you seven points. The most I've ever gotten per round was 13 points (from eleven fish) Happy fishing tomorrow =)
