you probably could, as long as you're not using anything that comes from an official game or making a profit off of it then there's really nothing they could do legally? though they'd probably still find a way to take someone to court to get them to waste money on a legal team.

@@ShoppingatAM the problem is Nintendo's track record with Roms, specifically Pokemon related Roms. They seem to have a vendetta against most rom hacks or fan games. Most are safe as long as they don't look for payment, but Nintendo can always raise a fuss about it and get them taken down anytime they want.

@@countcr33perThe thing is, pokemon tower defense existed for as long as the server hosts were willing to keep it online (~8 years iirc) and they even made money off it with a premium service. So if its a totally unique concept then it wont be taken down

​@@ShoppingatAM not really, they really have no problem with pokeclones. They even let Coromon launch on Switch, and stated directly they dont give a damn about Palworld. They get pissy about anything that directly uses anything Nintendo ever made, VERY pissy. The "we will sue you for making rom hacks" kind of pissy.

They've made crossover villagers in the past (legend of Zelda and Splatoon villagers in new leaf), there's nothing stopping this from happening
