It's always 2. I was pulled over back when I use to drink. The funny thing was I didn't drive to the bar, i took a cab as WAYYY too many DUI'S and friends getting them, I was trying to do all I could to stay out of being a member of that club. Well I often invited people over to my place for afterhours parties. One of my buddies had a full car and way too much to drink at the bar. I had more than two but this was in the height of my drinking. I knew I could handle myself. I offered to drive for him, though I had never driven his car. I got pulled over a block away from my place. I was questioned and put through a bunch of tests. When asked what I drank I said "2 beers" not knowing THAT'S WHAT EVERYONE SAYS. Last thing he did was a breathalyzer he looked at the number sideways (but didn't tell me what it said) He asked, when did you have that last drink? I said about 15 min ago, which was true..but I know I had at least 1 shot and a couple of beers, however I paced myself even though I had NO PLAN TO DRIVE, I only did to help my buddy coz I knew he would have gone to jail if he got behind that wheel. The officer said, You have a good night, be safe. Then he got in his vehicle and left. We were in the lot of an AMPM, and all my friends were watching my interrogation from within the store, when I walked in the store (to buy beer for my b after bar hours party) they were cheering me and high fiving me. This officer had given 3 or 4 of my friends DUIS so far. No one could believe I was able to pass all of that. The officer was named officer BACON. I swear to all the gods, that was his REAL NAME!
why don't they just ask them straight up? "two ways we can do this, the easy way or the hard way? your choice..." and go from there
I spent a bunch of time in jail, never want to go back.

Just? They are trained Corrections officers. In some of the states we see they go to corrections to work under age 21, and at 21 they can choose to move on to road cop. Others choose to stay in Corrections.
Why do they put two intoxicated men together in one cell? That is asking for problems. If there are not enough cells, they can chain the men to the benches, so that they cannot attack eachother.
