I'm trying to learn this on guitar and thought maybe seeing her playing it would help me understand. Lies. Now I'm just wondering what possessed me to try to learn this... There are very few people I've seen perform live who have that kind of mastery with a guitar. Amazes me every time.

Saw her about a decade before this show, and then the next year. Amazing musician and writer.

Ohhh, god. I love when she forgets the lyrics and she's just improvising the whole time. It just brings a smile to my face.

After reading her autobiography, it's tough to see this knowing the frame of mind she was in circa 2003 -- overwhelmed, sad, and not doing well. Then again, misery is (mostly) good for art.

i love when artists are in their first ten years of singing-it seems so much more gutteral-soul searching/honest/rageful etc. sometimes this gets lost when their lives become more full with marriage, kids, etc. ani still great but her earlier music is the tops.
