Take only memories leave nothing but footprints. Parsons Meadow in Wigan has a face lift from the Anglers who love their wildlife enough to say, "let’s fight against litter!’

What a fabulous job you guys have done. I used to live facing the meadow and was always heartbroken at the pure ignorance of how some people treated it. It is such a stunning place and as far as I am concerned deserves local nature reserve status. Wigan Council have neglected this area for far too long. Well done to all involved you are true heroes.
I am local to this area and would like to thank all involved with the litter pick. It looks much better now but on my walk this morning I could already see signs of more litter appearing around one of the lakes. People often take carrier bags with them, fill them with rubbish then leave the bag behind. It makes my blood boil. Keep up the good work.

Yes John. We've tried this loads mate . Tench and like waters and rivers full of chub pike.and even barbell been caught there noe
Well deserved keep your head warm. It's great to see the lads out cleaning up the river Bank. People should just bring their rubbish home with them.
I was doing a recce today Ian quite a lot of litter next to gate at tickle trout bridge golf course side next to the road great videos by the way 👍🐟🎣
It's a sad fact of life, that people/not all, still leave all their rubbish, ect, behind them, we used to bring bin-bags with us when going fishing, lift all the litter that was around the place, on one Pike fishing lake, whoever was fishing with dead-baits, they where using latex gloves to handle the baits!, and left the gloves and a lot of baits just lying on the bank, mad. Good video Ian. Good valid issue mate.
Well done all! 👋

Thanks Mathew! It is a stunning place that definitely deserves looking after. Lovely part of the country
I have nothing but admiration and gratitude etc... for those groups that litter pick, wether it's at fishing, country or urban locations. In all honesty though they shouldn't have to do it. Those who deliberately leave litter, fly tip etc... need harder punishments if caught and any fisherman etc... deemed to be doing it needs banning from waters. I hate litter and if I owned a fishery etc... I bloody wouldn't stand for it !!!
PM me next timed you go on a clean up ill pop down from blackpool a nd take a walk with you. TY for the hard work

@PikerBiker you too bud. 24hrs tomorrow on the free stretch. Your videos have been a great help ty
Poor Dave, he's broke his back for hours in all sorts of weather, day & night & probably got numerous cut's bites & stings, not forgetting there is every chance of getting pricked by some low life druggies disgarded infected needles. So the mighty Shimano, probably the biggest angling company on mother earth decide to award Dave for his hard work. What do they reward Dave with ...............a pair of Baitrunners or some new rods!!!!! no none of those, a cap, a bloody cap. Oh but wait a minute, it's a limited edition can't buy in the shops cap!!!!!! Well whoopie freaking do. I bet those Shimano employee's love working for such a caring forward thinking company, the Christmas party must be a hoot, all you can dring in a half pint glass.
Its disgusting for litter down on the ribble, you go down for a nice session in the outdoors and are surrounded by empty cans of beer, tins of meat, bait buckets and the rest. Good on you for trying, it's the peoples attitude, morals and respect that need cleaning up.

@@PikerBiker That's the one mate, love your videos, great to see good people like yourself setting a good example for the rest of us to follow 👍 there's a thing i like to follow called "Take 5" when fishing, out in the park or whatever.. where i take 5 items of litter or spend 5 minutes at the end of each session have a bit of a clean up, every little helps 👍
