it is not a ruler ,, ruler has measurement units , straight edge doesn't have any ... ancient greeks used this for building up geometry .. basically what you can do in geometry just by using compass and straight line ... otherwise you could use basically protractor , measure that angle and simply divide it by 2 .. or if you would have ruler with measurement units on it , then you don't need compass,or protractor to bisect an angle.
