    Excellent version. She can sing hitting the high notes in the right pitch. Jimi would have approved this version. What a thing it would be if Jimi would have played with her this number.

    I am a shredder thru and thru but this version gives me chills every time I listen to it. "Voodoo Child" is my favorite song of all time and Kidjo does it all the justice in the world! Thank you so much for your musical vision and respect for what Hendrix did for guitar and music in general.

    This is so trippy. I just don't think African roots when I hear Jimi, but when they started singing the opening riff, it all just fell together for me.

    I always love to see her live performance. I've seen her three times and actually saw her last Saturday, March 24th. It's was worth me and my husband's time (wonderful date night out).

    I bought her CD just to get this performance-- I forgot how I heard her; on somebody's show. She said she grew up listening to her mother's musical collection which is why this is in her catalogue. I love her----love chile, voodoo chile !

    Angelique and Buddy Guy really "get down" on stage at the Radio City Music Hall (2004) DVD "Lighting in a Bottle" I got from Netflix. Unbelievable how she struts in back of Buddy Guy as he's playing and she's singing.

    I think it's important to be able to enjoy music without subscribing to the message or lyrics. I'm a son of Africa. I'm however not a voodoo child. I was born a Christian and will die as one. I love Angelique music though. I feel the hairs on the back of my neck rise everytime I hear this song.

    if you really listen to jimi's version you can hear some of that african roots, i mean it is called voodoo child. jimi could hear things and sounds we couldn't because he was guided by a higher power.
