I am no fan of wolf turns but I love the use of it at 6:25 in Alyona Glotova's routine. It fits the music perfectly! I'd like to see her start it faster (maybe add in a extra arm movement for the second to last note in the song?) and get it around faster. Cheers to her and the choreographer!

Melnikova's debut was a disaster but seeing her grow and become stronger makes me remember what Afan said that she'll (Gelya) will get her victories when she matures in gymnastics.

So you didn’t watch any Russian competition from 2013 to 2021 then, lol. With Melnikova, Listunova and any other third gymnast (Urazova, Minaeva) they would be far ahead of any other team on floor, like they were last year.

Definitely not low difficulty as you think. The difficulty in dance elements is high which is very important this quad. Average can do CCCD at most, but they can do DDDD equivalent which is a +0.3D advantage. See Leanne Wong (+0.4 tumbling) vs Melnikova (+0.5 to +0.6 dance).
