Elvis Presley and his producer Felton Jarvis cleverly covered this *Mark James song* in 1969, Elvis' last #1 hit in the US and #7 of his most successful songs. Felton Jarvis took the original arrangement completely and pushed the song with more speed and additional instruments (wind instruments, violin etc.) and a spectacular backing choir (in the studio version) and of course with Elvis Presley's voice. Pianist Rob Christie changed the musical arrangement and Angelina the vocal arrangement, but she didn't change the lyrics. Angelina changes the lyric structure, starting with the bridge and giving the song a different meaning. Once again many people hear and understand the song until when Angelina tells the story. 💯 *AJ* 💯

The queen paid homage to the king. Angelina’s grandma, Mery Zamani is the executive producer of this video. Everything about Angelina’s physical appearance and the guitar she was using paid tribute to Elvis’ 1968 come back tour. The arrangement paid respect to the original song while also being a stand alone remake. Angelina and pianist, Rob Christie beautifully captured what the writer of this song intended it to be like. IMO, it’s another master work from Angelina, her team and Republic Records. The boots Angelina was wearing are blue sued.

What a rich and glorious voice. She made this old song new and very relevant again. Angelina Jordan is a huge talent whose emotive style is breathtakingly heart-rending. I love, love, love her.

Her leadhersuit is the same Elvis wear in 1968, same as the red guitar 🎸 and the hairstyle is similar to Pricilla's. The song is a tribute to the King of rock'n roll, and his wife. The 3 kids is her family. Two of the youngest is her uncle's child and the oldest is Angelina's sister, to show how much family means to us. Elvis sang: I'm cot in a trap! I can't get out... I’ve always called Angelina my Female Elvis . The two young ones are Angelina’s cousins and the older girl is Angelina’s sister Juliette. It was a brilliant video and grandma Mery was the executive producer so Angelina always try’s to get her family involved when ever she can ,but grandma Mery is always there she’s a very talented lady in her own right . I saw this first thing yesterday morning on her own channel and I know Elvis would be so proud of her. The Elvis movie is out tomorrow in the UK 🇬🇧 and it’s already massive all around the world. So I’m going tomorrow and I’m so excited about it it’s going to be epic Austin Butler is playing Elvis and it’s 3 years in the making.So this was Angelina’s tribute to the greatest entertainer that ever lived she even wore black leather and rumour as it that Priscilla let her use Elvis’s actual guitar 🎸 I really hope that’s true. If in fact Priscilla did lend Angelina the guitar, then she could have been nice enough to invite Angelina to sit with the family at the big opening, and tell her friends to catch Angelina's version of "Suspicious Minds".

It is so good to see you reacting to Angelina again. It's been too long, but I appreciate your continued love of her work. I'm pondering the symbolism of the items being unveiled in the beginning. Is that first one a love seat? Does the mirror reflect the past? Nothing is accidental or wasted when Mery Zamani is involved. She is a true artist, and she has passed that gift on in her granddaughter's DNA. This video is really a family effort, & pure genius. She had me with that first powerful note!

I think that's why the sister and cousins were included in this video. To me, they represent the high cost of the decision she faces. They add emotional impact.

Her voice......That first line was sung as well as I have heard any line sung. It was big and full and complete. There wasn't any holes in this performance. Please forgive me, but I heard a woman sing this song, in all her glory. As much as we have all said she sounded like an adult as she grew up, well here she attains that. Every note and nuance crossed over to being a lady. The depth of sound she produced here I have heard one other time. That was her TikTok version of Adele's 'Love Is A Game'. The fact is Elvis never wrote any songs and the ones that he was credited with were in his contracts if he were to sing somebody's song he had to be given 50% credit for writing it.

As she walks in she uncovers old dusty classics and shows us just how she can make those classics her own. I read that this tribute was complete from the black leather jumpsuit that Elvis wore in his 1968 comeback concert and the red guitar he used, to the hairstyle reminding us of his wife Priscilla from the early years, and of course there is 2 time Grammy winner and Republic Records Studio Director, Rob Christie on the piano again for her. This young lady and those she works with are masters at what they do. And I'm sure you noticed that she was still paying tribute to a blue eyed Persian girl she met weighing people on the street 10 years ago. Including her two little cousins and her sister in the video was just showing how important family is. She truly is a treasure, and this interpretation was solid gold, and STILL only 16 years old.

But one interesting thing I'd like to point out is the story of the song itself. The original singer songwriter Mark James' (1968) intention with the lyrics was to portray a disfunctional relationship with trust issues. He failed commercially, but Elvis was looking for a song to take him back to the US music charts. The thing is he and his team arranged it in as kind of a rock anthem which took away the essence of the song, so to speak. The genius behind Angelina's version (apart from her outstanding vocals and video production), is that starting with the bridge, sets a totally different atmosphere, reverting to the original meaning of the lyrics. For me, it was like listening to the song for the first time and understanding what it really talked about. GENIUS!!!

We have seen Angelina as a beautiful child on NGT to become a Norwegian teenager as the Persian Goddess of beauty, what a transformation. There are no more words to describe the musical talent of the Barefoot Angel. It can't get better than this, unless Angelina arranges another gift for us.

Her Beehive hairdo was an homage to Priscilla the day she married Elvis. A Leather outfit he later wore. The guitar is actually Elvis‘s 1968 “Comeback” Guitar! The two young children are her cousins, her Uncle Michael’s children, the older girl is her sister Juliette. 🌺

Hap3speakz, just set the record straight, Mark James wrote and recorded this song a few years before Elvis' version. The song was about Mark James relationship. So, ironically, this made Elvis' version a cover. Just put "The story of Suspicious Minds by Elvis Presley" into a search engine and you can find the whole story.

Absolutely what I expected. She made this her own song and she did it beautifully. I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day. Elvis' version is great and it always was, and it still is one of my favorites, but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own.

I don't know but this is the best cover of the song that I ever heard. It did not even sounded like a cover but whole new hit song. Brother she did a performances from Norway just yesterday..in the last season of Singing At The Border. She did Bohemian Rhapsody and I Have Nothing. The Whitney Houston cover is already out and it was majestic to say the least. Hopefully the BH will be out too.

🎤To me, one of the best songs ever written. 🎶🎼 So many different versions/interpretations out there., I would expect nothing less than brilliant from Angelina.💥💥 She, at her young age, is able to take the content and make it relatable. There’s no proof Elvis wrote any of the songs he sang , the truth is Elvis couldn’t read or write music, but he was a awesome vocalist had a excellent ear for music, Elvis had a team of song writers who wrote his songs, Elvis record company insisted if he sang a song he would receive 50 percent royalties, which meant Elvis would put his name to the song, so nobody knows if he has written anything at all , anyway what an amazing cover by a musical genius Angelina is amazing!

The song was written by Mark James. In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, he is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of."
