Rhianna may be a billionaire, and deservedly so, but her rendition of 'Stay' was set-up for release to the public after numerous takes that included the most state of the art recording equipment available, as well as a host of gifted musicians backing her up. Angelina, on the other hand, decides to invite her guitar playing friend Ivan to her home for an impromptu 'jam session'. Since both are not totally experienced in doing the song, Ivan just tries his best to follow her lead as she reads the lyrics off of a tablet at her side, arranging it as she is about to sing each line. With all this being said, she brings forth a rendition that I find more penetrating than Rhianna's. To encapsulate. Rhianna is a billionaire with record sales that exceed 100 million albums and Angelina can only be described as a 'one in a billion' talent for sure.

Angelina has so many songs that I can listen to every day of my life. This is definitely one of them. She delivers the message of the lyrics so easily and openly. Somehow Angelina has known all her life that the essence of singing is interpreting lyrics simply, genuinely, personally. And added to that talent is her mesmerizing voice. Now that you’ve seen the magic of Angelina and Ivan together, get prepared to be amazed again in their video of California Dreamin. This cover reminds me of Bohemian Rhapsody because Angelina takes another iconic song that nobody touches and she strips it down so you understand every word of the lyrics. An ending like a springtime cascading waterfall.

Analogy: I decided to go fishing in the deep blue sea. Wasn't looking to catch a particular fish. I just wanted to enjoy the day and be surprised if I caught anything at all. My line had sunk into very deep water and I wanted to bring it up and see if I caught something or would catch something on the way up. As I started to reel in the line it suddenly yanked and I got all excited! I quickly positioned myself in my chair and strapped myself in. If it was a fish it wasn't fighting to get away but I knew I had hooked on to "something". Finally, the line reached the surface and I would have my first look at "what I caught!" Lo and behold, it wasn't a fish but some sort of a box, a box made out of metal. Perhaps my line had reached down to a ship wreck from many years ago. I was able to scoop it up onto the deck and then sat there for a few moments staring at it. It was about 12" by 4" by 6" and was coated with something from the ocean which seemed to preserve whatever might be inside. By now it was midday and I let the sun slowly warm the metal box. Would I try to open now or take it ashore and do it later? Are you kidding? I had to do it right there and then! It took a little doing but I was able to loose up the lid using my screwdriver. I lifted it an inch or two and I knew I would be able to open it all the way. My imagination was now running wild! Was this something from a treasure ship wrecked and lost at sea many years ago? Maybe there's important papers in the box. Maybe some currency of some kind. I open it all the way and it was obvious the tightly sealed box had preserved whatever was inside. There was a felt pouch inside. "Oh, my! What do I have here?" I fondled it very carefully and then loosened up the tie to see what was inside. OMG! It was jewelry! All different colors gleaming back at me! And, there was one jewel which stood out and was, without question, the prize of this collection. I just kept staring at it. I had no thoughts of what it was, or, what was it's value. All I know it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in my life. Thank you, Angelina, for coming into my life and bringing me love like I have never felt before. You are a jewel of the universe and my greatest wish, my greatest hope is that everyone in the world discovers you and listens to you sing for them. I know one of your desires in life is to do what you can to make the world a better place to live and I truly believe that can happen as you spread your love into every corner of the Earth and touch the souls of people and warm their hearts. Magic? No. Whatever you do to us and for us is reality and we love you Angelina. You will always be in our hearts. May all your dreams come true. We will always be with you and never far away. I thought Rhianna's Stay was very good until I heard this by AJ 4 years ago then I really loved it

I think I told you these sessions with Ivan were largely unrehearsed. Stripped down, slowed down and full of soul and melancholy. So very beautiful!. Ivan is indeed totally caught by het singing being so close to the epicenter :-) With Rihanna it is a song if hope: you sort of know that the other is going to stay. With Angelina the story changes: because if her timbre you know there is no hope: she is asking but the other is leaving. She is keeping it very subdued fitting the sadness of the story she is telling.

I am bound to STAY, - with Angelina`s channels, - AND with your always wonderful reactions to her music. Thank You so much😊 This song always go straight to the top among my favorits, everytime I listen to it. It amazes me to tears of joy every single time. But then there are a "few" others as well, that does exactly the same to me. I have never been able to choose the ONE song from Angelina. So my solution has to be to put Angelina as my number one - periode 👣 I can live very well with that, and she do provide both joy and beauty by her music, to my everyday life. Whenever YOU release your reactions to her, you certainly adds a great heavy PLUSS to all that as well. So thank you for letting us all in on your Angeina journey 😍

Agree that the ending of this song is so moving. Angelina elongates the ending notes of each phrase with those little runs. Another masterpiece, no disrespect to Rihanna, who I adore, but Angelina made it even better, imo.

Ivan Mendez Yes we’re guitar player he’s a prodigy but he cannot help but enjoy himself do a personal concert almost every day with Angelina

Ivan, the guitarist, says they do these in 1 or 2 takes. So the look of awe is his first time hearing her sing it. Nobody can emit the emotion and soul of a song like Angelina. I think she reads the lyrics first before listening to the song. In this way she can understand the feeling and emotion the artist wants to convey. Then she arranges it to be able to dramatically convey the feeling and emotion to us. She takes iconic songs and makes them Angelina songs. Her vocals, tones and smokiness do the rest. She is already The Greatest of All Time! Just amazing!!

Ivan stated in an interview that he got lost in her vocals and would lose his place in the song.

Rihanna recorded this when she was 24 years old with the support of Sony and singer Mikky Ekko. Who knows how many takes, or how much post production went into the final version. This is not a criticism of Rihanna. It's just how the music business operates now. On the other hand, 12 year old Angelina Jordan invites her guitar player, Ivan Mendez, over for an impromptu session and the result is pure magic.

If anyone else used her breathiness and/or her elongated vibrato as much as her they would be distastefully over doing it, practically a smack in the face to music, a parody. If anyone tried to emulate her, same thing. Check out Ariana Grande on that talk show game, where they roll a song and artist to emulate. Say she rolls Xtina and 'wheels on the bus'. Absolutely nails it, the song and the Xtina like interpretation. A bit goofy but decent, if anyone rolled any song and AJ, it would be an absolute parody or they wouldn't know what to even do to make it AJ like. How she can fit so much in and make it actual beautiful art is beyond me. Still have zero understanding of why I can put up with that with her, and not only put up with it, but be seemingly forever captivated as a fanatic that can never get enough. It's something to do with real Jazz artists, but even Billie Holiday and any old Jazz doesn't fully tell me why.

That is exactly why I listen to her every day! Her ability to draw me in has never happened before with ANY other singer ever!! There is something magical about her tone and mannerisms (body language for me) ! I'm 62 and I find he to be amazing. Go Angelina !!!!

If your judging her from one song, then you not really giving her a fair chance. She's more jazz than pop. Besides, her major influence is Billie Holiday and not Eilish. There is a reason why there's such a big buzz in the music industry about her, but you'll never know unless you listen to the different songs she has done. Here, she is only 12 years old, but she is currently 16. If your opinion is the same after listening to a number of her songs, then at least you gave her a chance. That's all anyone can ask for...

@@rw716 I've tried to listen to her many times and I just don't get it, I've been following a absolutely magnificent young ARTIST from the Philippines by the name of MORISSETTE AMON LAMAR, now this girl is a genuine ARTIST of the very very highest quality, give her a song no matter what the genre and you don't want to listen to the original ever again, her own original songs that she had recently written are absolutely beastly, so much so no one would even be capable of covering them, she's a once in a lifetime ARTIST experience, if she was British or American the rest of the industry would come to a standstill, she has kept away from the big corporate music boffins for the simplest reason is that she wants to be herself and not turned into some industry puppet show, Mariah Carey's producer Rhett Lawrence had a go at trying to sign her up, but wasn't having any of it, he gave her a song to record and to say it was insult to MORISSETTES talent is a understatement, she's better than that, she's a very strong woman especially when it comes to her music, she's an absolute GEM to the industry that the whole world needs to experience, everyone that has come across her are hooked on her, she has everything that the rest of the industry simply hasn't, she doesn't take herself serious, she's a very humble girl next door type of woman who hasnt become self obsessed, doesn't do drama queen antics it's just that she lives to sing and entertain and boy does she do it, I'm one of her biggest English fans, following her for over 4 yrs now 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.

@@steveheckle8847 Everyone has their own taste, I guess. Morissette Amon Lamar Has a really good voice which puts her in the pack of singers with really good voices. I put Daneliya Tuleshova (age 16) in the same group and I love listening to her. The only one who could give Angelina a run for her money is Soh Yang . They call her the Korean Mariah Careyfor her incredible range (Check out her cover of A Bridge Over Trouble Water - it's amazing), Angelina's voice has a depth of character that no one else has. Almost every song she sings grabs you in some way and pulls you in. But not every one can be a fan. She's had 2 Billion views on Facebook, and I think there are plenty of her 'Angels' who love her. Now, I don't suggest that you listen to her anymore. You're already determined to not like her, or at least demean her, and I'm sure there are lots of millennials who won't get it either.
