Yes, that was grandma and they are inseparable. Grandma Mery was also a child prodigy and a lot of people are assuming she too was involved in music but that's not correct. Grandma Mery was, and still is a renown painter and poet. However she did love to listen to jazz and that's how Angelina and when Angelina got hooked on jazz. Anyway, I think it was terrific and we know she will be on a mission to get the younger crowd to enjoy her music and I think this song was a good start toward that goal. Thanks, always fun to watch you two.

Funny you should say that---I have been watch Angelina since day one on Norway's Got Talent up until today and the many shows in between ---it's been several years and I am still amazed at her tremendous growth that she continues to actually bless us with---AND it's still only the beginning---we are so fortunate to be able to witness her journey---and oh yes-- I am 85 years old and still love music---especially from Angelina Jordan.

Re the radio: The range of AM and FM radio station frequencies were printed across a glass window above the buttons. You'd turn one of the knobs, typically the one on the right, to move a tiny "post" behind the glass to the station you wanted to hear. When you received a clear signal, i.e. no static, you could "set" that station in the radio's memory by pulling OUT the knob you choose, then push it back in. Pushing that knob in the future would always move the little "post" to that pre-set station you selected. The radio in the Porsche shown has 5 buttons, so you could pre-set 5 different radio stations.The knob on the left was typically the on/off/volume selector. Oh, and this video wasn't "leaked". Angelina clearly told us that it would "drop" on Friday, May 5th. I happened to still be awake late Thursday night, May 4th, and noticed that it was just past midnight (12:15 Friday morning). Out of curiosity, I pulled up Angelina Jordan's Official Channel and saw that this song had "dropped" only 19 minutes before that! It already had 1.3K views! Her fans were prepared!

Also like many, have follow Angelina since she was seven and winn norway got talent, so proud of what she has done, the words best, relaxed, natural singer in the world, she dont need background singers ore fixing and trixing her voice, its beautifull even acapella ❤

I read one comment saying that one interpretation of the lyrics of this song could be the love she have to someone she lost, like her grandpa that died a while ago. Then you could understand how she is able to describe the feelings in the lyrics even at her young age. But as with all good poets, you can interpret the lyrics your own way and get other meanings of the song. I love the nostalgic start of the song, then when the drops comes it suddenly feels very modern at the same time. Very catchy song for sure!

You are right, guys. We all have tears in our eyes, we are so proud of what Angelina has become. That was her grandma, Mery Zamani, who has been with Angelina every step of the way. This video is, in my opinion, Angelina's way of saying "I am a grown woman now. I am no longer that cute little girl." Spread your wings and fly, Angela. You've earned it!

I think AJ is feeling for her grandmother in this song, and the love her grandmother had and has lost. It is like a first-person experience for AJ, that she needs to express. The lyrics are a reflection of the intense longing and regret which Mery Zamani still feels, and AJ expresses it in this song for her. By proxy AJ, speaks for Mery, and they can still feel the memory touch and scent, and erasing that memory seems like a foolish act for both of them. Mery desperately wants to be close again, but it is impossible, like trying to catch smoke. She wishes for a physical presence so one could beg him to stay. The repeated plea of "Love, don't let me go" reflects the fear of losing that love and connection they once had. The absence of the person leaves them feeling incomplete and Mery longs for a deep connection where there is no hiding. The song conveys the struggle of moving on and the emotional impact of a lost loved one.

I have followed Angelina's career from 7yrs old to 17, and like a proud Grandfather, tears come to my eyes as I have seen her grow, from that 7 yrs old little girl with big hair, and missing teeth to a beautiful young Lady with big gorgeous Hair!

I saw a replay of that. She sounded amazing. Just her phone and the faint backing track from her phone. I think she was referring to her EP coming out soon. It’s a little confusing because talk of an EP just happened a few days ago. I’m thinking this EP is in addition to her full album which was supposed drop late summer or early fall. We’ll see.

Our angel is growing up...My God...I am following her last 4 years...she is simply the best...I can´t describe what I am feeling to see our little angel going on like that...

We were expecting an album in the fall. We have been told an EP will be out soon, if it will be part of the album we don't know. The Warning came out with an EP that was incorporated into a full album, if it is Angelina's situation we will see. Both The Warning and Angelina are under the same musical group UMG so they might take a similar path.

I love it when new people complain about her messing with her hair and I don’t think she even realizes she does it, she never misses a beat when “adjusting her hair “

I think all of her fans that have watched her "grow up" on YT see her as a family member like a daughter, granddaughter or niece. I've followed her for 5 years (since she was 12) & she's definitely like one of my granddaughters & I'm so proud of her.

To be honest it feels like one of my own I have watched her grow into this beautiful young woman and I couldn't be prouder of her :)

We who have followed her journey can tell exactly what age she id just by seeing her face or simply by hearing one line. We have witnessed a tiny adorable princess with a mind-blowing talent become a tall majestic queen who has an even more mind-blowing talent. It truly is a privilege. How is it possible that all of the greatest vocalists in my lifetime to date can be combined into one being that is so unique, and that this person has the support, and resources of her family to promote her genius? We then have to consider the vehicle to carry AJ to us, the internet, the chances that all of these variables would be combined are one in several billion. As for the new song, "Love Don't Let Me Go", I have now played it 59 times, and AJ's signature, storytelling vocals are hypnotizing. With the 4 inch heals AJ has on at the start of the video she would be standing 6 feet 5 inches tall, she is 6-foot 1 inch barefooted. AJ wrote this tune, I wonder who the co-writers were, Lana Del Raye, or Redone, or Stargate out of Norway? Co-writers are listed on the streaming services: MTHR (Karl Ivert & Kian Sang - Swedish) They are also the producers.

Taking care of her hero, Grandma Mery who introduced her to Billie Holiday jazz that eventually was used to win her Norway's Got Talent competition when she was 8 years old. Ms. Mery has been one of her most solid supporters and the camera person behind many of her cover videos.

Two days ago it was #3 on the Itunes Pop charts in the US. Im not sure about her current ranking though. Its also #1 in Norway and #3 in Sweden. If RR do their job well, im sure this will become a summer hit. But nevertheless it has HIT written all over no matter.

Awesome reaction and that's Grandma! She created her own Genre, "Vintage", 60's Vibe with RB/Jazz/Pop/Crooner, a hit for sure. She is releasing an EP in June and from what I understand it could be 3 to 5 songs off the upcoming Album which is due out this Fall, with at least 9+ songs. Great reaction, Guys! This was indeed her first single from her debut album. An EP will drop in June, hopefully containing 4-6 tracks, and then her album a month or two after that. This song is probably very representative for the album, as she has said in interviews that the album will have a 60s vibe to it. She has also said that the album will contain exclusively her own material. And the lady was her grandmother 🙂 The car is a 1955 Porsche 356 Speedster, which would set you back just north of 4 million bucks. Keep an eye out for that album, because AJ has arrived. @@poolhallshark Baden-Württemberg to be precise, the founder of the brand, Ferdinand Porsche was actually born in Bohemia and held a Czech, Austrian and German citizenship. Stuttgart is a 1-2 hours drive from here, depending on the car and the traffic. Genuinely Bavarian are BMW (Bayerische Motoren Werke) and AUDI (lat. "Horch(e)" (hear/listen)... In this case I was speaking of Germany in general, they don't have an Angelina in Schleswig-Holstein either... but we got Heidi Klum, the Golden Buzzer Lady :)

That's Grandma all right. She was Angelina's first inspiration, putting her on to jazz and especially Billie Holiday, so it's only right that she features on Angelina's first big release. Grandma didn't introduce Billie. Here's a quote from Angelina (7y) from an interview with TV2 after her Auditions NGT 2014. "The reason I chose this song is completely random. I love jazz, but" Gloomy Sunday "was random. It was a night I could not sleep and my mother was stressed that I was awake long after midnight. Then I borrowed my mom's iPad where I wanted to listen to jazz on KZread before I fell asleep. Then came a picture of a beautiful lady screaming at the sky and with her eyes closed. I heard the song "Gloomy Sunday" that night and then I had to hear it every day. I love the melody. I understood well what the text was about because I know English well. Every time I sang it I felt something special about it, it's hard to explain in words. When I sang it for mom, she said that this song is nice, but that it was incredibly sad song. "

Good reaction guys! I am most impressed with her lyrics. The song is full of metaphors, Love it, and love her.

When Angelina was born,i was already a grown man. Alot more spring in my step and i had some future ahead of me type of grown,but yeah. And im looking back on it like "time has really flown by and gotten me soo much older in what seems like a blink of an eye!",so remembering me being aware of her at 6 years old (not long before she turned 7) Its abit emotional and abit scary all mixed together. I didnt always think of time passing like that,i do it far more theese days! And seeing how the years ends now faster then they used to do,really messes with my mind. Angelina has always been an old soul to me,but seeing her that dolled up and looking like a woman now,really stuns me. I saw parts of her instagram live where she asked if we have checked out this song yet,and all of a sudden Juliette popped into frame,and goodness baby sis has grown ALOT too,she looks like a early pre-teen/teenager now. I tend to think of Juliette like the sassy and tiny background dancer from Valerie I wouldnt be surprised if Angelina wrote herself into a grammy and possibly other rewards with this one! I know there is potentially a "Spellemannspris" award already waiting for her (Spellemannsprisen = Norwegian Grammies) If this is how she writes,composes and arranges a song at 17,it makes me wonder what she will sound like at 27 That was Grandma Mery that waited by the car,correct!

I’ve been anxiously waiting for your reaction. I knew you guys would love the song. Very appropriate for Angelina to include her mentor and inspiration Grandma Mery in this video. I only discovered Angelina about a year ago, not too long before you guys. Even so, I feel so proud of her, like a proud parent watching their child grow up and spread their wings. I think if this song gets into the public consciousness it can be her first hit.

A visualizer seems to be a simplistic visual intended to accompany a song, much like a music video or lyric video, and it's a new trend. They tend to be less developed and fully-fledged than music videos, which often have more complicated visuals or a plot and characters.Nov 6, 2017
