Her stage performance was almost as good as the recording....AND her in studio rehearsal was amazing.....Great reaction...

This is one of my favorites of Angelina's from her album "It's Magic"! She is pretty much sticking to and respecting the original by the great Bobby Vinton (1950's & 60's). He also did the falsetto on those upward parts, so Angelina beautifully (and amazingly for her age!) followed suit. Notice instead of saying "Mister" she says "Miss" Lonely, making the song personal to her. Just amazingly intuitive, talented genius.

In the vocal style of Roy Orbison with dramatic flair verging on Elvis. Beautiful virtuosity. We are so lucky to have YT informed prodigies. Amazing. So much she can do purely with vocals.

Angelina can instantly brings me back and remembering the lyrics from over fifty years ago. Great reaction.

@@Beldvlmnt Just to give you a fun fact. This orchestra makes an album every year and generally they have 10-12 different singers to do songs. These singers are voted on and is considered a big honor. Now I could be wrong, but I think I read that Angelina was voted on to do the whole album by a unanimous vote. That had never happened before or since. You might want to fact check that, but I believe that's what I read. I am not a researcher as my ability to focus for any length of time is short.

It is ironic that a young girl with such a close family and friends could convey the emotions of a sad song so well. A perfect example of her ability to read the music and understand and feel what the composer was trying to convey. Then she throws in the "Angelina Effect" with her command of her voice that hits you right where it needs to.

Mr. Lonely" is a song co-written and recorded by American singer Bobby Vinton, backed by Robert Mersey and his Orchestra. The song was first released on Vinton's 1962 album, Roses Are Red. This was a protest song, one of many because the country was in the midst of a unless war in Vietnam where 52 thousand American soldiers died for nothing. I bought the album when it first came out. AJ at 10, or 11 has done this song great justice, but always does.

Ever since I heard this for the very first time it has been one of my favorite Angelina recordings. The way she sings "home" at 4:14 just kills me every time.

Her tone alone would be enough for certain greatness. But her vocal skills and staggering accuracy makes her unfairly magnificent at an age that should be impossible.

My copy of this CD lives in the player in my car - I must have listened to all the songs thousands of times - never loses the impact! This particular song is so well expressed and the dynamics always make it feel bright. Certainly not an easy song to sing, and as you say, the musical arrangement is so well done.

My copy too! Ever since I bought it in 2018; - and Mr Lonely might well be the most played of all the tracks - just love the feelings she manages to convey here. Such a very special singer.

Angelina and the orchestra worked together on the arrangement, if you notice the tempo is slowed to Angelina’s preference, this whole album, “It’s Magic” is a masterpiece and still can be found on the iTunes top 100 Jazz Albums chart.

I love her cover of a special sixties song. When the original version of this came out I just entered the U.S.Navy. This would be played a lot. This song did not help my home sickness. It is strange but this is what I remember of this song.

The Orchestra played this life in the big room while she was in the soundbooth singing all in one take.

I like the way she changed the lyrics from Mr. to Miss to fit her gender. Most singers her age wouldn’t have bothered. And those notes!

It's worth noting that recordings for this album terminated on November 23rd 2017 when Angelina was still only 11 years old 🙂

That effortless rise to her falsetto is chilling. She's a child, amazing.

You can feel how all band members love her so much 💞 perfect timing and perfect collaboration. A magic decision to do the 200y celebration with an 11y old girl 🎉 Saw the Band with other mature singers, but no one came close to this magic ✨

Liked your reaction as usual. Angelina recorded this when she was 11 years old. The staff band of the Norwegian armed forces is a wind band, no strings, no organ, just percusion, horns and woodwinds. I have this CD and it is all amazing. She performed a lot of these songs with this band the next summer, when she was 12, at an open air concert celebrating the band's 200th anaversary. There are recordings of some of this concert on KZread, but the sound isn't near as good because it is outdoors and recorded probably on a cell phone. The arrangement for this piece is by Lars Erik Gudim.

I think they actually did the entire album. There are 3 instrumentals on the album so I’m not positive if the band performed those at the concert as well.

At 11yrs old now that's Stunning !!!

This young woman was even thought of, yet she records this song just as well as Bobby Vinton did it. The band is amazing as well, you hear every word, whatever she does sliding note and expressing her feelings through the vocal as the band does the same. I was 6 when this song came out 60 years ago, Angelina once again nailed it as though she wrote the song herself. I am sure she changed the arrangement to suit her vocal range and style!!! I Love It!!!!

Great reaction. I’ve always loved this Bobby Vinton song. Angelina’s version is absolutely beautiful. An amazing performance by an 11 year old. It’s funny, I’ve listened to this many times but had never noticed that piano part until you mentioned. It really is a nice touch. I’ll have to check if it’s in the live version too. It’s the same band.

I Realy injoyed your reaction to this song Bell. This whole album ITS MAGIC is fantastic and is on Angelina's Official youtube channel. Also Spotify and others. I think is 15 songs on this album . Including a few she wrote her self. The concert video you have seen a few songs from was held for the Norwegian people to sellibate the release of the Album. The Norwegian armed forces staff band also held a surprise 12th birthday party for Angelina.

Angelina was 12 yo when she recorded this Album and coincidentally, with the same Band (Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces) she just visited in Norway to discussed doing a Tour together, not sure if only in Norway or around Europe. They are the same Band who recorded this album back in June 2018, with Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces (Forsvarets stabsmusikkorps), the Album is called “It's Magic”. Angelina has worked with them before; in fact, since she was 8yo, so yes, they have history and this is herstory.

Actually I believe she was still 11 when the album was recorded. The concert they performed together was several months later when she was 12.

She was still 11. Last day of recording was Nov 23 2017. She was introduced to the band (Staff band of the Norwegian Armed Forces in 2017. The orchestra she is going do a project with in the near future and is Kringkastingsorkesteret (KORK). She has previously worked with them from the age of 10.

She has a broader vocal range than Bobby Vinton, who I believe was called the Polish Prince. But aside from the range, this is about as close to a copy of the original as I have ever heard Angelina do. That being said, Bobby's voice is so unique, that a copy is really, really hard,.

Actually loneliness is an ageless complaint..long story but I was sent to boarding school..the loneliness I experienced has shaped the rest of my life..kids experience loneliness much more keenly imo.

You don't mention that a 11 yo is not suppose to sing like this!
