Angelina performs barefoot after meeting a poor girl weighing people for money in the streets when Angelina was six and the girl was approximately the same age. It was cold and the girl was barefoot and her feet were scarred. Angelina struck up a conversation with the girl and ended up giving her shoes to the girl. The girl said she would pray for Angelina. Angelina made a vow never to wear shoes while performing live until all children have shoes. She has help raise millions for charities and is still performing barefoot 9 years later. She is a child prodigy and empath. Angelina has a very loving family and is extremely humble.

Angelina sings bare feet for a reason. At age 6 she met a poor barefoot girl her age and gave her shoes to her and said she will sing bare footed until all the children in the world have shoes. For a 9-year-old it was pretty near forever. Not fair deriding a 9-year-old in comparison to Dimash in his teens in Kazakhstan and neighboring countries (?) and gaining fame throughout China, hence in the rest of the world, at 22 and following. I doubt D would do so.

Angelina Jordan is gonna take you down another rabbit hole! At 7, she started it all off by auditioning for Norway's Got Talent, with Billie Holiday's "Gloomy Sunday". Seriously! Last year she was on America's Got Talent, and arranged Bohemian Rhapsody with a jazz flair. It's brilliant. This year, she covered "Billie Jean"! And gave it her signature jazz spin. Those are a good place to start. But like Aurora, her fellow Norwegian, the entire catalog is stellar.

We are feeding them free music schools from age 6-7 and onwards (as well as free education from primary school up to master degree at university). So they get to learn notes, singing or playing an instrument, learning from well educated teachers who often also are active musicians in bands, choirs, orchestras. In addition, many high schools offer full time studies in acting, dance and music, producing loads of opportunities for talents to blossom.

As a 60 year old Norwegian, I grew up with the memory of Sadie Shaw performing bare-foot at the European Song Contest '67. She was a pioneer.

She decided when she preforms she won’t wear shoes until every child in the world has shoes. "The girl with a thousand voices" She has over 140 covers from 70 or 80 artists. If you listen to "I'm still holding out for you" you'll hear just how perfectly she can control her voice. You have a new subscriber. She was only 9 years old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, an American singer/songwriter. He wrote and performed it in 1956 and Angelina based her performance on the original, although she did make some subtle alterations to both lyrics and melody. As you continue your journey of discovering Angelina, you will come to realise that she does her own arrangements of most of the cover songs she sings. The differences may not be immediately discernible on first listening to them, but they are there. There may be a subtle change in tempo or tone, or more inflexion on some words, or a phrase may differ in pitch from the original. The amount of control that Angelina has over her voice cannot be measured. She never hurries a song. She sings in such a way that the emotions in the lyrics are felt by the listener. In this video, did you notice:Angelina finishing some notes and handing them to the music director, who smiled as he read them? They were her wishes (instructions) to the band how she wished therm to play the music. Then a brief glimpse of Mery Zamani, a well known and respected Iranian artist, who is also Angelina's maternal grandmother and the person who encouraged Angelina in her love of music, especially jazz. And then there is a shot of Angelina holding a candle, upon which was an image of Screamin' Jay Hawkins. And the fact that during the last time she sang "because you're mine" she rose on to her toes. Lastly, did you notice how the "performing" Angelina, singing at a level of maturity far beyond her years, suddenly became a 9-year-old child almost instantaneously once she finished singing. Thank you for your reaction and welcome to the world of Angelina Jordan. Here is an introduction to Angelina for you and your viewers who might not be familiar with her. Angelina is Norwegian, her full name is Angelina Jordan Astar. Her father is Swedish, her mother is Norwegian from a Japanese father and Iranian Mother Mery Zamani who is a poet and a painter and was a child prodigy in her own rights. She started singing at the age of one and a half when she fell in love with Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”. A year later she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and showed lot of interest in artists like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, and Louis Armstrong. Angelina pestered her mother to enter her in “Simons Show” as she called it from the age of 3. Her mother relented and entered her in Norway Got Talent at the age of 7 where she auditioned with Billie Holiday’s Gloomy Sunday. She went ahead to win the the big prize at the finals where she received 46% of the votes while the remaining 9 finalists combined received 54%. Angelina said she likes singing because she wants to bring joy and love to the whole world. One of her dreams from a very young age was to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize concert. She accomplished that at the age of 8 singing Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World. After winning NGT, she was flooded with offers from major music labels as well as Disney but they were all turned down by her and her family in order for her to continue her education and to protect her artistic integrity. Her uncle/manager in an interview last year he talked about music labels top executives who would fly to Norway on private jets with huge contracts offers but would leave mad and frustrated because they never expected being turned down. Angelina is fluent in Norwegian as well as in English. She also speaks some Swedish which is very close to Norwegian and probably learned it from her father. She also speaks Farsi which she learned from her grandmother as well as some Japanese that she picked up from her grandfather as well as her mom and uncle who lived for a period of time in Japan. She actually performed a Japanese song at a concert in Japan. She also plays several musical instruments. Most of her performances after NGT were for charitable children organizations where she helped to raise millions. At the age of 6 and while travelling in another country with her family, she came across a young orphaned shoeless girl who was weighing people on a bathroom scale for some coins in order to support herself and her siblings. After chatting with her for a while and without prompting from her family, she gave her shoes to the orphan girl. She recorded that incident in her diary and vowed to always sing barefoot when doing that in public to remember that girl and to remind herself and us about the many needy children around the world. At the age of 9 she wrote and published a book about that encounter making her Norway’s youngest published author. Proceeds from that book are donated to children charities. Angelina Jordan has about 150 songs in her repertoire. Late last year she signed with Republic Records as their highest priority new artist. Her versatility is unmatched. At 9 she was already doing things many adults can only dream of. And she's not just a 9 year genius, she's a 9 year old genius with great band. Her covers rival the original. Her originals are well worth listening to.

Yes, she can hold the notes...in Feeling Good and others she will hold a note for as much as 10-15 seconds. You noticed the band members - they liked her so much they called her The Boss and continued to play for her. In outdoor concerts and some big indoor venues before she moves to LA you can see them backing her up. Her writing on paper at the beginning is her "wishes" that she gives people she works with, and then the director smiles when reading them. The candle? That's the songwriter, Screaming Jay Hawkins. Originals? Yep. She's got several, starting with What is Life at age 10. Her songs Million Miles and Seventh Heaven can hold their own against any famous adult songwriter.

Back in 2014 this little 7 year old girl first struck a world dumb with a talent that most said was God given. She became known by many as "The Barefoot Princes of Music". By age 12 we all knew she was destined to greatness and many in the Music industry where reacting either by vying to sign her or hoping to silence her. Cover after cover she brought back hits that the music industry either could not duplicate or match and she did it with her own style and not only matched them but made them better in a way that was humble and showed respect to those that she copied. Every one was whispering and wondering what would happen when she got older, could she wright her own stuff and could she sing fresh material or was she just a mimic. Most of her fans knew the answers to those and we have waited. Any one that sings as she does from a place of Joy in the art, respect for those who she has learned from and real Happiness in her ability to make others feel happy was destine to greatness. Her secret weapon was faith in her self, her craft and her family. She never thought about the money only making beautiful music. Now here we are, She steps out on the stage still barefoot, still the pretty young girl we all love but she has her own voice now, her own words that she has begin to express at the age of just 15. With them she has gone from the Bare foot Princes Growing in to the confidant caring and thoughtful Queen of her profession. How can that title be hers, She embodies all the best qualities of those she benefitted from, Heart, strength of commitment, and character. A real love of her talent and her art that is not driven by greed but of the pure desire to do what she loves and in a way that embodies all the best traits of her idols and mentors. Fun reaction. The 1st time hearing her sing is like “woah”. I really really hope her voice doesn’t change as she gets older because it’s brilliant now. I also hope that she writes more of her own songs because if she can do that with someone else’s feelings and experiences I can’t imagine how beautiful her own feelings would sound. Love the reaction, Larry. Angelina and Aurora are both Norwegian and both are spectacularly talented. Aside from that, they are about as opposite as can be. Aurora's voice is light and airy. Angelina's is deep and rich. Angelina has said that singing is as important as breathing to her. Aurora has said that she doesn't really enjoy singing all that much. She does it to share her writing. So what does that mean? It means that being different doesn't make someone better or worse. It just means different. Both of these young women are true artists worthy of a listen and I love hearing both of them.

Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, a Doctor but that it could never happen. Angelina told her to never give up hope. The girl complimented Angelina on her shoes and Angelina noticed her scarred bare feet so she gave them to her, and the little girl told Angelina she would pray for her every day. Angelina sings barefoot to this day to remind the world that there are still children in need. All book proceeds go to charity.

My recommendation for your next reactions are to go back to her Norway's got talent performances. There are four of them. The audition is a classic of Billie Holiday's gloomy Sunday. The final is George gershwin's summertime. Some reactors actually go through all four performances in one video because each one is relatively short. You will see where it all started.

I think because you have stated that you really love movie orchestras or something like that please consider watching Aurora’s “The River” Live Bergen 2020. It’s just her dressed like an Egyptian goddess singing with a full string accompaniment. Absolutely mesmerizing.

The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so that Angelina's dream would come true. Angelina still says that she thinks of this homeless girl every day and has always stepped barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate.

It's her trademark and she has never sung on stage during a performance while wearing shoes. Prodigy, humble, empathetic,caring, kind, elegant and a voice like no other. At the time of this video Angelina had already traveled and performed in Europe, Asia and America at many performances with many of them benefits for children. Angelina is making a statement with bare feet, after giving her shoes to a homeless 6 yo she met in Iran and after talking to her, she promised her she’d perform barefoot every time she sang in public. She’s raised more than 130 million for children’s and environmental charities

This was her arrangement of of Screaming Jay Hawkin's song and closer to the original then any other singers version of it.

never heard of her! what a voice! here's a recommendation: Saturn by Sleeping At Last :) it's a very beautiful song.

Now you need to see her own composition videos of "Million Miles". She wrote it when she was ~12 years old for the memory of her recently passed (at that time) beloved grandfather. She has dedicated it to him and for any others that have experienced such loss. There are two incredible video versions to see other than the official music video by her new label, Republic Records. Watch the lyrics version first. It has great artful graphics by her grandmom, a noted Iranian artist. The lyrics are most powerful. Then watch the live b/w studio version. She uses just a piano (played by a very high up Republic executive) and cello backing. The emotion in this performance will make you cry. Angelina mentioned that while recording the "official" version she cried throughout the session. If you have memories of a dear loss, you need to do a reaction video of these performances. Stunning, emotional artistry by a 15 year old kid singer/songwriter/arranger. (I apologize for the "cut and paste" I used for this comment. I just wasn't going to write it over and over and over to everyone I suggested this to).

Chris, from different sources i read a interesting story about this video. She was 9 years and two months. Angelinas parents rented the studio incl. the band. It must have been in her fathers name. When she came in, she introdused her and shook hands after giving her "wishes" (arrangements) to the studio boss. She must have introduced herself with her full name. The musicians told later in interviews, that they did not recognise her. The band members said, that after 30 seconds into the song, they knew exactly who they were playing with. Scandinavians superstar Angelina Jordan, prodigy, and national treasure of Norway. As she knew what she wanted and it was better than what they had thought of, they nicknamed her adoringly and lovingly THE BOSS. When Pro musicians worldwide talk about the boss with awe, they mean AJ.

Way back in the beginning of her rise the story was the little girl said at the end of their conversation, that Angelina will probably leave and forget about her. Then Angelina said that she would sing bare foot to remember her by and until the whole world had the oppotunity to have shoes. So the bare foot thing has a two-fold purpose. To remember the little girl and to make people aware of the plight of the shoeless. I am wondering if anybody knows how that little girl has been doing? Angelina only sang that song that way once. I think she was cautioned about possible permanent damage singing that way that young. She still sang it just more user friendly. I wrote a whole big comment for your Bohemian Rhapsody reaction BUT, as per usual I hit the wrong key and not only was my comment gone but I was staring at Daneliya Tuleshova's beautiful face as she was going to sing her tribute to the men from Kazakhstan's WWII including both her grandfathers. That is another special singer. I put her in the same group as Angelina and Morissette. If you feel like hearing her I can give you some links, if not I'll feel sorry for you quietly in my corner.

I dont get why people try to compere Aurora with Angelina, both are amazing in their own way, aurora is a child of nature, Angelina is a child of Jazz, both are amazing, i suspect Angelina is going to do better commercially while Aurora is going to better spiritually. I listen to both of them and they both give me something emotionally.

On this song she is covering , "Screaming Jay Hawkins" original. You should listen to that as well. She copies it very well for her age.

I'm certain Angelina was bare foot before most of the singers out there. And she has a specific reason for it.
