Then came a picture of a beautiful lady screaming at the sky and with her eyes closed. I heard the song "Gloomy Sunday" that night and then I had to hear it every day. I love the melody. I understood well what the text was about because I know English well. Every time I sang it I felt something special about it, it's hard to explain in words. I have watched reactions to this so many times I couldn’t count but it still brings a tear to my eye, as do many of her performances. No other artist in my 71 years has had the ability to touch my soul the way Angelina did then and still does 10 years later! Great reaction! Looking forward to you see her amazing progression through the remaining three performances on this show let alone through the years to the current day.

Buckeye, I missed your other Angelina video but I'm glad I caught this one. Yes, this was her introduction to the world. There are 3 other songs and if you listen to them in order (some angels will give you the information you need) you can actually hear her voice mature during the Show (she turned 8 during the Show). I can tell she's already touched your heart with her love and that's the key. The tone of her voice with all it's soulfulness is unlike any singer I've heard in my life and I've been around the block a few times if you know what I mean. But, when you factor in 'who she is' as a humble, kind, caring and loving human being her affect on you (meaning all of us) is something, a sensation which is very hard to explain but we feel it and it's very real. Her love is GENUINE. What she has cannot be taught or manufactured and our hearts cannot resist welcoming her into our lives. Buckeye, a lot of us have seen this video literally hundreds and hundreds of times and when you started to 'lose it' during the song, believe me, everyone of us started tearing up with you. Why? Because we are so happy for you. Sooner than later EVERYONE in the world will know who Angelina Jordan is and that is an exciting thought. Would we expect the new people discovering her to act any differently than we have? Btw, what qualifies you to become an angel? Simply to feel her love in your heart. "Welcome, angel!"

Near the end of the song, when it shows the blond haired lady in the black leather coat backstage (Angelina's mom Sara) wiping tears from her eyes. Thanks Buckeye...so glad you went back to NGT audition where this video went viral and let the world know this young music genius/prodigy was here. She was 7 here but turned 8 in the final. The next song in progression is "I A Fool To Want You" (Billy Holiday) and she sings A Cappella. The next one is "Bang Bang" (Sonny Bono/Cher) with just a guitar accompaniment, and the Final is George Gershwin's "Summertime" which she sings in the style of Ella Fitzgerald... Billy Holiday made it a hit in 1941 and a few countries banned the song, fearing it would increase the suicide rate. Angelina conveyed all the right, sad emotion. As good as this audition is, each of the later songs is better than the previous one. Over the 6 months of the competition you can really see her vocal & artistic growth with each performance. It's fascinating to watch a child prodigy progress so quickly & the amazing thing is that now, 10 years later, she continues to improve each year. According to vocal coaches, her vocal chords won't be fully developed until her mid- to late-20's, so I can't even imagine what she will sound like then. I just hope I'm still around to hear it.

Buckeye, no matter how many times I view this one, the tears always come. You know right away that you're viewing and hearing an extraordinary talent. The deep tone of her voice, the rasp, the timing, the obvious love and appreciation for the music, I could go on and on. Great reaction, thank you. This was the first time I heard this little fairy sing, 10 years ago and I've been hooked ever since. In all these years I have listened to she thousands of times in hundreds of splendid interpretations and yet every time I see this first performance of hers at the age of 7, it makes me move again, like the first time, with that wonderful concentration of humility, simplicity, candor , sympathy and talent. I love her wonderful sense of jazz musicianship from his very first performances. 💛🧡❤

It was a good thing Angelina didnt win AGT, she turned down Simons contract preventing her from going further in the competition. Within the next year she was signed to one of the biggest labels in the world, Republic Records, who follows her direction and gives her pretty much everything including her own private music studio.

It is so interesting to watch all four performances by Angelina in NGT because it takes place over a period of several months (she turns 8 during the competition). We get to see her growth not just physically (watch her teeth fill in!) but also musically. It's maybe the most moving thing I've ever seen. 🥰 You're the best, I do apologize that we like to watch other people cry so we can feel manly in the face of this kid. 😋 I kid.
