Alex, YES, she is a gift of God, but she also seems to be a workaholic, (I said seems) practicing 36 hours weekly since around age 3!!!!! She wanted to partake NGT much earlier, at 5, but she was not allowed. Beside practicing, singing at charity and fundraise, the Nobel Peace Prize, she helped a bit with her little sister, she even took her lil sis later ona rehearsal with a school orchestra. Angelina kneeled beside Juliette, so she was at eye level with her six year younger sister. She sewed her stage clothes after designing them with grandma Mery. I bet she can cook too. OK. She at any age will shock you. First recorded singing at eighteen months of age. At two going on three she spends hours scrolling through KZread listening to Jazz artists daily. At three she tells her Mother she wants to sing on that Simon show. (Which she does at thirteen). She enters school at four. In after school program she is taking music, piano, violin and flute. She has never had a voice coach. At five she is studying music theory and speaking three languages. Norwegian, Persian and English. At five she is reading English at a high level. At five she try’s to audition for Norway’s Got Talent, but is told she is too young and must be seven. She is practicing four to six hours per day six days per week. At five she tells her Mother she wants to sing; at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert. (Which she does at eight) Her Mother is trying to slow her down but she wants more. At six she is living in the Middle East, where she meets an orphaned child, while walking with her Mother and Grandmother. It is a cold day, and Angelina spends around forty five minutes talking with the girl, while her Mother and Grandmother waited for her. She gives the girl her shoes, and upon arriving home, she records the encounter in her diary. This is where her legend begins. At seven she auditions for Norway’s Got Talent. At eight she wins Norway’s Got Talent. At eight and nine she tour’s the world singing at charity events. At eight she sings at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert. Gloomy Sunday, her audition piece, was performed when she was 7. For the next 3 performances she was 8. When she said on AGT that she won NGT at 7, that was scripted to compensate for the difference between performance dates (2019) and broadcast dates (2020). Her last performance on NGT, when she won, was aired live on May 23/2014. Her birthday is Jan 10/2006.

Six years old, first recording to I Who Have Nothing.

If you haven’t seen the rehearsal for Quincy Jones 85th Birthday Concert where she sing Fly Me to the Moon, you need to see it. She is 12. Sings Frank Sinatra’s arrangement better than Sinatra. Jones did the arrangement for Sinatra and the Count Basie Band. Another favorite of mine is when she is 11 and sings Lovin’ You.

You can tell when a reactor stops being a reactor and becomes a fan and then an Angel. The impact of Angelina is like no other. Some instantly feel it while others take a bit. Either way, it's a great thing!

I am not an Angelina Jordan fan,, but as many of those who are have said, her studio performance of "I put a spell on you," when she was 9, is really amazing and as far as I know, it is her best. This performance is lovely of course - as was her AGT cover of Bohemian Rhapsody - but "I put a spell on you" shows a different side to her that would I think astonish you.

They did not have golden buzzers. The a cappella audition was part of an elimination round. Many of those standing behind her did not make the cut. I did stay, and my heart is happy that you hear and understand the greatness there. Thank you for taking the extra time. Grandma Ellen, smiling.

Angelina Jordan is a music prodigy she started singing at the age of 1.5 years and more than that she started with Billy Holiday Jazz. 8th wonder of the world

Oh boy, are you in for a ride and so many of us Angels will be going along with you because we can watch her over and over and never tire! The second performance was an elimination round, no bells or whistles and no audience to distract the participants or judges. The semi final comes next in which she sings “Bang, bang” originally by Cher then later by Nancy Sinatra. The final she sings “Summertime “. We were all astounded by her talent in the first two rounds, only to be flabbergasted by the improvement she made in just a few months. Looking forward to it!

When I review these performances, the adjectives such as incredible, crazy, monstrous, etc. etc. I always find them reductive, unfortunately, there are no adjectives to explain this prodigy, incredible 7-year-old children and singers exist but, my God, Angelina is really of a other planet. I'm so pleased to see you discover this extraordinary talent. Your enthusiasm is infectious! Angelina had already been singing for 5 years before the Gloomy Sunday audition but this was her first exposure to the general public. She was listening to Billie Holiday and other jazz greats at an age when you and I were barely speaking in proper sentences. The a cappella song was in the elimination round with no audience present. But just you wait till you see her two live performances! She really comes into her own and, by the way, arranged the performances herself. Do make sure you get subtitles and watch the judges' reactions - they are priceless!

As amazing as these songs were, you can see her get better with every performance. When Angelina was about 10, I no longer thought of her as a child singer. Her voice was so strong and fully formed. When she was 12, I knew that she was the best singer I ever heard-and I grew up with the great music of the 50’s and 60’s. You made a comment that many people say who just discovered Angelina-that these songs you heard today were perfect for her voice. But what you can’t know yet is that she sings five or six genres beautifully, with completely different style, vocals, and rhythms: jazz, blues, pop, soul, r&b, ballads… She’s known as the Girl with a Thousand Voices. And each one will blow you away.

In these first two appearances Angelina pretty much copies the originals. She breaks out more in the next two appearances singing "Bang Bang" and "Summertime". It has been better and better ever since!

If you compare this to Billie Holiday's original of Gloomy Sunday, you will come away believing Billie sang both renditions. This is when all the talk about Billie being reincarnated into a 7 year old girl from Norway. Angelina is a natural 'vocal chameleon' who is able to emulate the vocals of numerous artists, which you will come to realize when you've explored her catalog of songs.

She is amazing... so good at such a young age it would be hard to believe if you hadn't seen it. Apart from anything the preternatural calm she always has when performing is something to see.. wait until you see her performing What a Difference a Day Makes at 8 in the middle of a large crowd, entering her own special world and so amazingly poised and fearless she transmits calm to those watching ... Her voice does change with age but she just gets better and better.... absolutely not one of those prodigies that others catch up with and become less special: she has an album coming out very soon and we know one of the songs and have heard a "teaser" of another and they are great... she stays true to her (long) jazz roots because has developed a contemporary jazzy-pop sound which is fantastic !

Great reaction Alex, most reactors have never heard the song or even heard of Billie Holiday, so knowing both, you bring a lot to the table. I also I love when reactors are so impressed with a song they have to hear another one. It's going to be hard to follow her chronologically this late in the game. She has 100's of videos & now that she has graduated HS she is starting her career on a full-time basis. She just released a new original last month, Love Don't Let Me Go & any day she will release her debut EP with Republic Records called "Old Enough," with 5 new original songs. Then in the fall, she promised a full album of originals followed by a Global Concert Tour. It will be hard to ignore her exploding popularity while you are still listening to 8 or 9 yo Angelina. You might have to jump around between chronologically following her & listening to her new music as she releases it. However you do it, I can say that musically, it's "life changing." Liked & subscribed for your Angelina journey, however you do it.

Thank you for your great reaction. Angelina didn’t want to sing kids songs. At this time she sang a lot of jazz as she was introduced to it by her grandmother at a very young age. One of her biggest early influences was Billie Holiday.

Wonderful reaction. I discovered AJ 3 years ago and I watched reactions everyday since. For me it was not a question of talent and knowledge, it was a miracle and I like to see people having the same emotions than I the first time listening to her. You are starting a fantastic journey because you still have many incredible songs to discover.

You are going about this in the best way IMO, Alex....starting at her beginning and then following her progression. It's hard to believe but you will be amazed, and surprised, every step of the way. She just keeps getting better and better. Yes, she is always very calm and poised when performing. Interviewers have tried to get her to say she is nervous before big events, but she always says - no, I'm excited to perform. The bigger the event and the larger the audience is when she is at her best. You have an exciting and rewarding journey ahead of you and it will be fun to watch.
