Heidi gave her the golden buzzer in her 1st audition for AGT. She does a lot for Angelina.

There is no one on earth that can match the talent of this STORYTELLER. AJ deconstructs a song then reconstruct it to make each individual hearing it feel it was written for them, a love letter to their comfort zone. AJ has been killing us softly since she was 7 years old, and now she is taking the world by storm. How does one explain her abilities? The truth is, there aren't enough words because there is no one in our past, or more than likely in our future that will affect mankind as much as she has in the short period of time, she has been alive. AJ awakens a need within us that we had long forgotten. Peace.

How about “What a Difference a Day Makes” at age 8 or “Something’s Got a Hold on Me” at 11. Of course all hail the Great Artist, people can’t help but praise her. Thanks for the reaction and give your children a big hug and tell them how much you love them as I am sure you do quite often. Thanks

How many runs can you put into a road? She did not NEED to win this show and deal with the restrictive "honors" that come with that. Gorgeous is a good word. This bird needs her freedom to fly. And this summer in her live concerts, she preened her feathers. Fly she will. Thank you for your appreciative reaction while on your treadmill. 💜

I second that suggestion! Angelina's cover of "Stay" is one of her most beautiful and nuanced recordings. I hope she includes it on her upcoming album.

Angelina, IMO, had no chance of winning this competition since her family refused to sign any contract which would have given Simon any control over her future. Angelina's arrangement for this Elton John classic is very similar to the arrangement by Sara Bareilles. Howie's comment was spot on as I also am always captivated by Angelina's voice. Sebs, many thanks for providing links to the original video and to Angelina's Official Channel. I suggest you encourage viewers to use those links to watch, like, share and comment on the original video. You could combine this artist support along with highlighting your own channel. I believe the viewers will appreciate the support for their favorite artists and be more likely to subscribe to your channel.

I hear this comment about why AJ did not win. It makes sense that her manager/uncle would make the arrangement for not signing with Simon as part of the deal to have her perform. And yet, Simon was very complimentary of her performances of BH and YBR. The superfans selected the winners and unless the vote was faked or the superfans bribed, I don't see how this claim is true. Is there more to this? Thanks.

@@foghorn90leghorn73 yeah we could never know when things are 'faked'. No one would be allowed to tell us. Chances are IMO they screen everyone before the first round of finals for contracts, can't have anyone in the top 5, or god forbid 1st, only to have them not sign, when someone else could have gotten the contract instead. Anyone who doesn't come to a contractual agreement is left out of the superfan voting. But again IMO, my best guess. Makes too much sense, and she finished.... 6th. Which may have us leaning towards this being the case for her. Obviously she was very unique and incredible, straight perfect in her two showings, obviously her family was turning down everything until she maintained a high level of creative control with republic according to her manager/uncle. It all adds up to that theory right. But that's all it will ever be, no one can say anything. They don't even want narratives of contracts seeping into the narrative of the show, let alone have to talk about the voting maybe not involving everyone for contract agreement reasons.

But either way I think was a case of win, win, win for all involved. Exposure for her and a better show for them. If it was 'faked', in this case, it was in everyone's best interest. I do not think the entire narrative is ever faked. And easier to excuse in a show that should be tough for singers to win, given they have many other shows for singers alone.

@@andyschnell58 To be clear, there was no one in that competition with the skills of Angelina. And the idea of having her compete with gymnasts is absurd. I liked the Filipino guy who was selected over AJ, but his skill is being able to sing baritone and soprano, more of a curiosity. However, AJ got a lot from the competition, especially the admiration of Simon.

This is one of my favorites by Angelina-and that’s really saying something because she kills everything. I love how she’s 100% in the moment, ready to sing-nothing else. Like many of her covers, I never really understood the meaning of the lyrics until I heard this. I’m old enough to remember the original by Elton. I’ve heard it hundreds of times, and it was pop music. Angelina brings the lyrics to life with a mesmerizing voice and her unique musicality. Yes, Angelina takes on the most famous singers doing their best songs-and we like her versions better. You just have to get used to it. Sara was in late 20's when she did her version. Angelina was only 13. I love both versions but Angelina is definitely a musical genius.

I like how you started this walking on your treadmill, casually talking on a static stroll. About 10 seconds into her singing, all walking stopped and you stood there transfixed and slack-jawed. We can all relate. I also like your closing comment that she chose NOT to go big on the last note- instead choosing to finish softly and gently, tucking this song into its bed, pulling the blanket up under its chin, and giving it a tender kiss on its forehead.

Sebs, she was NOT allowed to win, she did not sign with Simon, so no winning. BUT that was NOT her goal, She wanted the US public to notice her and Simon needed more viewers. Win-win for both of them.

As far as recommendations: still highly recommend all 4 of her Norway Got Talent performances (Gloomy Sunday, I'm A Fool To Want You, Bang Bang & Summertime) - at ages 7-8. Not only are these amazing, but the Norwegian judges reactions & feedback is incredible. Angelina has over 170 covers and 5 originas, we Angel's are not picky when it comes to the songs you choose from Angelina.

Rather than follow suggestions from fans (like me), why not go to Rusty Shackleford's site where he lists every song she recorded and just pick what you fancy? Because all the usual favourites come up from fans and there is so much that gets overlooked. I won't even suggest my own favourite, just choose what takes your fancy. But remember, Angelina has a habit of turning everything she touches to gold, even those songs you never really cared for.

A few talents are bigger than any talent show, Angelina is one of them.

Since 3 months ago, I found out Angelina knows Nora Jones and actually sang for Nora in her concert in South Korea to a great reception from the South Korean crowd.

Love Angelina voice... I thought i give you some recommendations that i think is really good. Although you done all of my favourites there are still alot of good ones left. So you already done Angelinas version of *I have nothing* (Witney Houston) that she did years ago. She did a live one this year at Allsang på grensen and its even better then her previous one. Definitely worth checking out at some point. She also did Bohemian Rhapsody but i prefer the AGT version she did. Idk why because the one she did this year was amazing too. Also her version of *Id rather go blind* is amazing. Her voice on this is crazy to me. She just got a new mic (For her 12 or 13th birthday im pretty sure) And were trying it out for the first time. Im not a mic expert but people saying she had the mic the wrong way. Still sounded amazing to me. Just her in her room with no special effects or nothing but still so good.

I believe you've done Million Years Ago with guitarist Ivan Mendez. I would love to hear your reaction to the Reanna song Stay also done with Ivan's accompaniment. after her initial audition, the people from A G T approached her and wanted to sign her to a contract. she turned them down. she gave them her reasons and her family gave them reasons. the people at AGT got mad because NO ONE TURNS THEM DOWN !!! AGT wanted to tell her what to sing and HOW to sing instead of allowing her to do what she does best. she said thanks but no thanks.....so they did not allow her to even make the top 5. i havent watched AGT since, because of that........ but later in the year she got signed to a record contract. the record label who signed Angelina, told her she could take her time to write some songs and when she was ready they would help her !!!

robert Concerning AGT, you do have any scrap of evidence to back up what I consider to be your false claims? Or are you simply another one of those egotistical purveyors of gossip and rumour?

The challenge for her on AGT is that there are other performers that are not singers, and the voting audience doesn't always recognize the singing talient.

She knew she wouldn't win. Unless she signed with Simon's label. Her family didn't want her locked up with Simon. Less than 6 months later at age 14 she signed with Republic records. She and her family moved to Los Angeles. She turned 17 on January 10th. She will graduate from high school in June. I think her album with come out before the year is over. Republic did not promote her until she graduates. I can't wait for her album

I don't recall her doing a Nora Jones cover but she did open a show for her in Japan to a crowd of 40,000 at around age 12. The Japanese loved her.

@@fredneecher1746 Hahaha I assume they all knew and would screen contestants for contractual agreements before the finals performances. So they don't have winners not signing. Simon was such a class act with her the whole way through, even thanking her for making the show better, as if he knew she wouldn't win maybe. If this song was indeed for him, don't put it past him to have suggested it to her, and the timing of the shot to the production crew. Or at least Heidi. He wouldn't be angry about the lack of an agreement IMO. I'm stunned she went with a Sarah Bareilles arrangement for the song, instead of making her own. Maybe she had something else lined up and instead absolutely slayed this? Of course, it all could be a wonderful circumstance.

@@tomwhite4736 nope, it is different only because they are different vocalists, and because she had to shorten it for the show. It is through and through, the same as Sarah's if you chop Sarah's up properly, a bit of the middle and near the end is chopped off IMO. Even the runs and style are almost identical once you find the right parts to ignore on Sarah's. I think AJ's is better, but it is absolutely not of her creation, nor has she claimed it is. But let's not be rude to Sarah here, the judges irked some of Sarah's fans by commenting as if it wasn't Sarah's arrangement, rightfully so. Not AJ's fault, but we don't have to fight what is clearly correct on her behalf. We know she is an amazing artist that creates her own nearly every time in a shocking amount of performances over 10 years as a kid. This isn't one of them.

Thats right Sebs, she didnt sign with Simon so she didnt win. I stopped watching that show after that scandal. An acrobatic act won ? thousands of people wrote in and complained and they lost many viewers. Worked out for the better, Angelinas with a great company now republic records. They are takeing it slow with her. Simon would have milked all the money out of her and worked her into the ground. It was Bull crap that she didnt win but she really won in reality of life. AGT Fourth Power

I always thought the lyrics of this song were an interesting choice. "I didn't sign on with you. I'm not a present for your friends to open." In light of the fact that she refused to sign Simon's contract which is generally mandatory to get on AGT. But they wanted her that badly. Did this guarantee she couldn't win?? We'll never know for sure. But I will say that I think Republic was the right choice for her.
