Hi Paul! Although we Angelina fans love her and her work, we do appreciate honest, genuine reactions like yours. If people want to listen to her performances without any comments, they should just go and watch the original video you gave a link to!!! Angelina has been a true musician since she was a child. She always knew how she wanted her performances to sound like and worked closely with the musicians that accompanied her. The "gentle boss" 😉

Teacher Paul, you are entirely welcomed to the Angelina angels. Your reactions are warm and heartfelt. I can't speak totally for everybody else that commented, perhaps not as diplomatically as you would like. But I believe the main reason for their comments was not to criticize, but to make certain you saw and heard everything important in the video. There are times if you speak and don't pause that you miss some critical facts. I think that can hurt your reaction more than it hurts anybody in the comments. You certainly should do as you see fit, but those are my thoughts. I am looking forward to your next one.

It is truly wonderful how she always manages to get her accompanists to give her exactly what she wants (hence her old title, "The Boss") in such a gentle, pleasant, unassuming and entirely non-aggressive manner! Thus, not only do they follow her guidance, but they appear happy to do so, acknowledging her genius-level musical intelligence and her professionalism, while also knowing that she is happy to listen to their input. You will also notice that her accompanists, whether solo guitarists or pianists, big bands or orchestras, are ALWAYS top-tier musicians.

Teacher Paul, I love these BTS videos, particularly when they involve a musical genius like Angelina. She was speaking Norwegian to the pianist & English to the conductor. I think you should ignore any nasty comments & if they are too nasty, just block them. I think there have been several reactors that have stopped reacting to Angelina because some over zealous fans have made nasty comments. They think they are helping her, but it's just the opposite. Please stick with her on your channel.

I will keep that in mind, honestly thought about not posting today, but ended up doing a late reaction to this video 😅 It's just that on this channel, I get less comments overall so the negative ones get more visibility, on my main channel I get thousands of comments a day so it's easier to focus on the positive ones. I'll adapt 😊

Thanks, Paul. I don't mind you reacting to TikToks of her at all tbh, There are some REAL gems to be found there, for real. And I think it is very correct of you to address some of the comments you got on that last reaction. If we want to heed Angelina as a human being, there is absolutely NO place whatsoever for insulting comments. I DO understand that people didn't appreciate you talking on top of the video, I am one of those myself, but I chose to not say anything at all. I like to give credits when I like something, and when I don't, I tend to stay silent. And you were right, Angelina and the pianist did speak quite a bit in Norwegian 🙂 I get very happy every time I hear her speak Norwegian, because I can hear no accent at all. It makes me believe that they do speak a lot of Norwegian in her family still. I'm not sure to which degree her grandmother speaks Norwegian; I have never heard her voice I think, but I have a slight suspicion that they speak English when she's around. If anyone knows, I'd love to hear from you. Take care, Paul! Love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥

Keep doing you because that's why we watch different reactors....each person brings something different to their channel. Most Angels are really nice and very kind that I have met. I too have run in to these weird fans that are so hyper sensitive and they think their way is the best way. Thank goodness they are s very small percentage out there! In regards to the video, yes, she was speaking Norwegian as well as English with the people there. The person usually videoing her is her Grandma Mery, but there are times her mom Sara does also. Again, your reactions are fine. Don't pay attention to the idiots that think there is only one way to react to something! Sheesh! Have a great day!

I also enjoy watching artists behind the scenes as they work out how they want to perform a piece. It makes you realise how much work goes into the finished product. I used to think that their performances just 'came out that way', but every second of it has been designed and perfected. Angelina is the real deal, a true artist.

Thank you for your reaction which I think is spot on with respect to Angelina's professionalism. She is indeed a master of her craft. In the early years she stayed closer to the original but over time as she developed her own unique style she would move her rendition to a whole new level all the while showing respect for the original. It is just one of the many many things I admire about her. I feel that so far she has remained true to herself and that also is no small feat in the world of music. My introduction to Unchained Melody was the version done by the Righteous Brothers in 1965. I loved it then and I love it now however Angelina's performance knocked it out of the park. She managed as usual to respect their version but also put her own stamp on it and thereby raising the bar for all other artists. Thank you for addressing the feedback you have received because it tells me that you are reading the comments and are open to suggestions. However no matter what you do it will not please everyone so please it is important that you too stay true to your own style

Very nice reaction. Just FYI, although the 1965 Righteous Brothers versión is probably the most well known version it is not the original. The song first appeared in the 1955 prison film Unchained. In the film a prisoner is longing for a loved one which makes this song even more appropriate for the occasion

That's a sad thing, 😔, I also tend to shift to different artists just because of the community and audience I meet. Even when views are high, if the comments are negative, I tend to shift towards the positive feedback because I don't want to offend or be offended by any fanbase, so I just stay where I feel welcomed. Hopefully, those other reactors get back to AJ, some bad apples just ruin it for everyone

Thanks Steve! I've always thought of a reaction as something unplanned and spontaneous. It's an instant reaction to what I'm seeing and how my mind responds to it. I understand the criticism, but I think reaction videos have many "sub-categories", some are experts who comment on extracts, some pause, some search for easter eggs, some do breakdowns, some do research, some are educational, my format is "first time" reactions and spontaneousness. I like the element of surprise and I like to read comments afterwards to interact with the fanbase. 😊

Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina never learns her name and calls her Princess. The orphan girl says princesses live in castles, but we live in ruins. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website.
