Thanks for reacting to Angelica's music video of Pink's "What About Us." You put into words what I've always felt about this performance -- she is simply a human who is expressing the emotions of each verse of this song -- from happiness to frustration to anger to entreaty to sadness. Her ability to physically express the emotions of each song is becoming her trademark and it makes her videos and live performances so much more impactful than simply listening to the audio. Lulu zoe mentioned the 1 1/2 years that Angelica spent on dialysis and that is probably the time of her life when she felt most marginalized or abandoned. Her Dad said that they had turned her bedroom into a mini-dialysis clinic where she spent 12 hours each night hooked up to a machine. I can't imagine how a 5 to 6-year-old would feel about the possibility of that being her future life (no pajama parties with her friends, no family vacations) and the relief she felt after she got her kidney transplant. As to "her people," those are children like herself that are going through health issues as well as people suffering from kidney disease. By the time she went on AGT, she had performed at dozens of charity events for the Children's Miracle Network and the National Kidney Foundation. And she has talked with sadness about the number of people who die waiting for a kidney or liver transplant, both of which can come from living donors. She is already a force for positivity in this world and her influence will only grow as she gets older and her career advances. I will probably jump the line once again and request a couple more performances that illustrate her charity work for CMN and her inspirational work for the United Nations. She manages to invoke something many modern singers cannot or dont even try which is an emotional comnection. Singing is about telling a story, not just showing off vocal abilities. Today's artists think being loud and doing runs is all it takes. Jessica is an amazing and unusual talent. Wishing for her a long fulfilling successful career and life. She deserves joy just as much as she brings it.

Thank you for this! I just watched all your Angelica reactions and loved them. How you said I need a little bit more made me smile sp much. She has a voice that goes straight to ones soul. I follow her since day one on AGT and she's just awesome. She'll only get better and better.

She did feel marginalized at one point in her life, when she was on dialysis, her song "What's like" "What's it like to feel the wind beneath your wings What's it like to be the person, you've always wanted to be What's it like to be somebody, cause I can't feel that Cause I can't I just can't" In an interview she also talked about feeling chained and not able to be or do "normal" things. For me, Angelica is one of the most amazing story-tellers ever.

Kids have strong General Emotions they can tap for a song, adults can do this as well, this idea that anyone who sings "must" live through that experience to offer it in song is misplaced, they can offer that emotion from the General Supply of it, knowing when to show it is learned. She never attracted my ears when she was younger because it was awesome power over a sub Adolescent sound, she has a lot more depth now, sometimes a young singer just needs time to develop more vocally, Hale is there now, a nd she has always had awesome natural talent.

For that person commenting: Angelica Hale isn't a child anymore and a person can be very young and can have been through a lot... Angelica Hale had a severe kidney issue and she almost died because of it! Not to mention that teens can suffer because of love! It's not because it usually go away faster, that the emotion is less true!

If you think she’s 💯 ‘faking it,’ watch her expression [especially her eyes] when she sings “what about trust.” Not only that, regarding the whole “the emotions she tries to portray are completely contrived” I say Wtf do you expect … she’s awfully young to have experienced such things …and thankfully so.

I think that the "Thing" you are looking for may be called maturity. Her voice becomes more full and experienced. She is growing into her voice so it seems to be getting more into her adult range. Maybe I am wrong but that is how I see it. I think alot of the authenticity you see and emotional expression comes from her experiences in the hospital when she was younger. She had to deal with so much at such a young age that I think she has the ability to express that through song at a much younger age than usual. Take care man and keep reacting to Angelica.

There are some incredible frames there that you can harvest to use as thumbnails for future videos. Second, some of your comments regarding Angelina's ability to express emotions were a bit equivocal--perfectly understandable, as we rarely see this in a child, or even in an adult for that matter. What you need is a second video in the same genre to confirm your reactions. Fortunately there is one--'Skyscraper', originally by Demi Lovato.
