People, do not forget there are 2 sequels. "Tis" picks up where "Angela's Ashes" ends. Then there is "Teacher Man" going into more detail on his 30 yr. teaching career. Frank passed away a number of years old. He was in his 80s You are missed, Frank. You brought so much to all of us who read your stories. Tears and laughter, you gave to us.

What a film, I loved, laughed and cried. Now there's not to many people can say they helped others achieve that in their life. May you rest in peace Frank. God knows you deserve it x

Thanx for this...my mother (a comtempory of Franks) was born and raised in the lanes, and also went to Leamys School. I spent many an afternoon as a child, listening to her many stories of life there....

As a single mom, I'd have to win the lottery to visit Ireland. I surely would if I did. And take this tour. I have read Angela's Ashes many times. Frank was an amazing story teller. "for the comfort that's in it" will forever be his term. Rip Frank. Xoxo

I went to Limerick in 1999. Got to see the homestead of the McCourts. I had Just finished reading the book a few weeks before my trip. So excited to visit Ireland .Hope i can visit soon.

I did the tour when I visited limerick. I remember Mick. He was a great guy and knew so many stories about Frank and his brothers 😊 such an amazing book.

angela's opened my eyes to an amazing culture and history. his style or writing stood on iys own and i will always cherrish the books he gifted us before he regrettably had to pass on.

I am reading this book, almost done. What a story!!! I thought it was fiction to start with because how can all that happen to real people?!!!

Frank McCourt’s writing while beautiful and sentimental, was also accessible; Anyone from any place could access his yearning, his loss and ultimately his achievements. And what better a gift to give?

I went to a movie rental shop when I was in the Army in Germany and asked the lady whats a good movie she said "Sweetie you have to watch Angela's Ashes", great movie couldnt even stop it to go pee, I held it along time.

It’s heart breaking

I’ve always had a special connection with this film, so much so that when I had hypnosis for reincarnation this film came up. I don’t believe in remembering reincarnation but I’ve had an obsession with Ireland since a child. I believe frank reminded me of my own childhood as I’m unable to articulate it in the same way

I've been there in 2002. Loved it. ❤️ I do remember that tour and the exhibition. My favorite book 📙 of all time.

my mothers father's mother's family all came from County Cork Ireland,their last name was Foley

Great video tribute to a great book. My great-grandad was from Limerick, I hope to head there next year if I can find where they lived. You have to love Ireland - even in misery we find things to celebrate and remember with a rare sense of poetry no matter how bad things are.

Love the McCourts and all the books and plays and this tour. I want to point out that it wasn't Frank who was in the American Airforce, it was I believe Malachy. Frank was joined the American Army. I just re-read so my mind is fresh. Thank you for the tour!

Irish life was made much easier by those choosing to work in Great Britain, especially those hard working men who found work in Liverpool. Many of whom became very successful.

I'm thrilled to find this as I've been a Hugh fan of the book as well as the movie

Actually the "fart anecdote" is inaccurate: the doctor did not lean over to take Frank's pulse, but was dozing at Frank's bedside when he farted. I literally just read it, that's how I remember...

How am I going to find Mick O Donnell?? I would like to know all you can possibly know about McCourt's Limerick.

I feel so sorry for all this people. It was hard time. But those people had good memories as well. This conflict reminds me of a conflict between Russia and Ukraine. (Some people said “I am sick of this f*cking b*stards” went to America and write a book about horrible life)

Being an American I can say this . There is absolutely nothing wore then an American trying to put on an Irish Brouge or ue Irish expresions. Having Parents both from Ireland I can asure you that in my home it was never done. And if anyone tried we would be quickly corrected by our parents. It just sound fake and stupid .

There is absolutely nothing fake about Frank McCourt, and before you begin criticizing the brilliant man he was, try learning to spell. He has written a Masterpiece which has been read by millions of people all over the world and won the highly regarded, prestigious Pulitzer Prize for literature. You cannot even write a proper sentence.
