    I believe Angle Reese is a major contributor to the success of the WNBA, especially with the influx of new viewers and fans. Your opinion is more common than you think. It's obvious to many fans that the powers that be were more interested in creating a "great white hope" type of player in CC, than just embracing talented players. Either way, Reese fans support her and will continue to show up at her games. We know how to filter out the media's often toxic narratives, and just show her support as she grows as a professional.

    So in every other sport blacks are the face of the sport. Blacks are also the most popular athletes. But with woman's basketball there just has to be a white girl. That doesn't make sense to me. Why would that matter woman's sports will always spike then go back down. It's not like mens sports.

    It's not Chicago it's the wnba! Chicago premieres her every chance they get. The W should of moved Chicago's games as soon as her name was called. She's a bigger commercial draw . She part of the reason for the new fans from college and she's a bigger draw for new fans who don't watch basketball because she's more visible than clark. And it's organic. She's very open about promoting the wnba. Something clark doesn't or actually can't do because she's never outside of basketball spaces. The fact that the nba chose her instead of clark to promote the finals should tell the women's department something. She's a bigger star. Clark is only famous because of that final 4 reese situation.

    Your opinion is proving to be correct. Angel is winning and Caitlin is struggling in her rookie season. So Angel is definitely figuring it out faster than CC. Im an older black woman who had absolutely no interest in basketball until 2023 when the whole Angel/Caitlin rivalry blew up during the NCAA championship. Now, Im a major Angel Reese fan and a part of the Angel Reese effect. I love seeing her shine. ❤❤❤

    @motruth7501 I think her purpose is to stir up trouble with the whole victim mentality. All the black NBA players are putting on the cape for her. Meanwhile, what happened to Angel Reese just a couple of days earlier was much worse and not a peep out of LeBron, Matt Barnes, Charles Barkley or anyone else. Even black men feel the need to protect the great white hope and act as if she's the only one attracting new viewers to the league and creating excitement.🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

    This is just smart business. Women's basketball as a sport will never garner the attention and money that men will BUT AS A MARKETING PLATFORM she's using it brilliantly. Female tennis players are far and away the highest paid female athletes and it's not because of their on court earnings. It's because of the millions they make in sponsorship money. Reese is taking control of things more directly like music celebrities and making her brand extensions of her sport. She's actively rejecting the historically femininity-hating, man-impersonating WNBA and this is a VERY GOOD THING.

    😂Now the WNBA is afraid because Angel would get higher ratings than Clark. Have you compared the ratings for Angel's games vs Clark's games in college? Essentially you're saying the WNBA is racist and doesn't want Angel Reese to get shine. That's a bunch of bs. Y'all gotta stop it with this victimhood narrative. The WNBA doesn't have many fans. You might actually be a fan of basketball overall, so you know about the players. The WNBA needs casual fans to grow and if those casual fans come in from the CC hype, then that's a good thing because the league hasn't been able to accomplish that before. Angel Reese doesn't move the needle for ratings the way Clark does. It's that simple. It don't mean Angel can't ball or won't be good. This is about business! Business is about money at the end of the day and there's more than enough evidence that shows who the person is that has moved the needle for women's basketball. Caitlin moved it so much that I see so many people now pretending that they cared about women's basketball. The WNBA is a dying league. It doesn't make profits and it's subsidized by the NBA. You're basically saying they want the white girl to shine and not Angel because of race. If that's the case, then why hasn't the NBA who owns the majority of the WNBA pushed more white players if it's about race? Why is LeBron still the face of the league instead of Luka or Jokic? By your logic they would've told LeBron to step aside so I can push these white guys. The fact is that this isn't manufactured and you can't control that a majority white country takes to a white girl playing a sport that's predominantly dominated by blk people. In fact it should be embraced because the black players will benefit by more eyes being on the WNBA. CC bringing in higher ratings means more money for broadcasting rights, tickets sales, jersey sales, more word of mouth, etc. That will eventually trickle down to the players and they'll finally be able to stop crying about a mythical pay gap and how they don't earn enough money. You're so focused on race and the attention that Angel Reese isn't getting in the mainstream due to emotions. Don't you know that nobody was going to their games or talking about any WNBA team last year besides die hard fans, which there aren't many of them for it to really matter?. Just look at the attendance for a WNBA championship parade and that'll tell you all you need to kknow about the WNBA and how popular it is. If CC is the person who finally go the needle to move, then they have to ride that wave. All my people who I see complaining about CC and the shine that Angel isn't getting y'all better make sure you buy that WNBA league pass, buy them jerseys or go to those games since y'all are such big fans now. That's the only way the league survives and becomes a success. If not, then you're just talking because you don't like the shine that CC is getting. I would understand if CC wasn't bringing in ratings and selling out arenas but that's not the case. If she's the person who's moving the needle then as a business owner you give the people what they want. If I'm a business owner and I'm already struggling a fighting to survive, then I'm not putting a bunch of nationally televised games that will get a third of the ratings if I put another player on. That's just bad business. I'm sure if Angel's games ratings come in high, then they'll be sure to add her nationally televised games for next season but right now CC was the best chance at getting those ratings and she has so far. Hopefully it stays that way and then more players will be seen and liked so they'll start bringing in ratings too.

    I really hope you didn't expect for me to tag all that. As much as you commenting start you up a KZread page in more than sure it works be great, I promise that's not shade real talk. Now address the higher ratings I did say it's my opinion remember me saying that? And we would never know because Angel only have 2 nationally televised games. If you guys CC don't improve her ratings will be dropping soon. And no I was not calling the WNBA racist I said they dropped the ball by not promoting all 3 young ladies. CC did not cause all this hype by herself intact CC would not be CC without Angel Reece the media created that narrative sold it yall bought it. There's an entire demographic that wasn't to watch AR play. Have a great day

    @ConsciousRebel85, If this was about business, the WNBA or the "Powers that Be" would have broken their necks to gain access to millions of potential new fans/viewers both nationally and internationally by opening up new markets to air their games showcasing the talented rookie class, just as the NFL and NBA have done. His comments were nothing to do with victimhood. You may be suffering from cognitive dissonance, do you need a ride to the Butterfly House?

  • @ConsciousRebel85

    @ConsciousRebel85

    @Kflash3782 The WNBA has been around for more than 20 years. It does not turn a profit! No business is about to expand to a larger market if the consumer isn't there to support it. Do you think just because they say lets expand internationally, then all of a sudden, millions of fans would start watching? Millions of fans could've already been watching, but obviously, millions of people didn't care about the WNBA. They've been trying to market the WNBA to the mainstream for many years. The truth is nobody really cares when you can see a better and more entertaining product from men's basketballs. That talented rookie class you're talking about for the WNBA, usually the majority of the draft picks, don't even make the team. In your mind, the WNBA should still spend money pushing a failed product in another market. If it's not about business, then please enlighten me on what the "powers at be" intentions are.
