I soaked and pre sprouted my Anemone and had a fantastic results, lots and lots of roots. It was my first time of growing them and I think it was beginners luck! I don’t think I will be as lucky again. I have a much harder time with the ranunculus. 😊

I've been using Sun Gro Metro Mix for my crates and I've been curious about moving away from both that and the conventional fertilizer I've been using, to a peatmoss alternative, with biostimulants. Thanks for showing us that it can be done, and that these crops don't have to be so input-heavy.

Hi Tony. Thanks for your video. I am Julio, I live in Chile, and I bought three Caen anemones this year (in pots). When I bought them, they had very large flowers, and little buds just coming up. When flowers deteriorate, I plucked them with the whole stem. The second flowers (from each plant) grew up and open, but they were smaller. They are producing little buds that bloom after. My question is: How can I get larger flowers? I would like to have flowers like the first one the plant had, but they are smaller and smaller. Should I remove the little buds to have larger flowers? Should I select larger flowers instead of more flowers? I will acknowledge your help.

I know you said you buy new corms every year but I was wondering if there’s a way to split/propagate corms? Thank you for sharing all your knowledge! I am forever grateful 😄

I have never grown anemones from seed. You may get some brand new colors! from a sprout corm till bloom for us has averaged about 75-80 days longer if you have freezing temps

Last year I lost much of my anemone crop in the hoop house to root rot. Any KNF suggestions for addressing this during the soak? Commercial solutions seem cost prohibitive. Also, so you think the pre-sprout method using 50 cell trays would work for these too? Tyring to get an early start but plant out after 4 weeks of growth. Thanks for all you do

Thank you so much for your question. We let them dry and dig them up and store in open crates in our garage. We plant basils in the crates for eating and to sell for bouquets. Harvest them and plant anemone corms in the fall and around and around we grow. Thanks for watching.☺️

Hi! thank you! I understand that you are using compost and actaully mineral soil, interesting. But what is on the surface of the media? looks like perlite? Ha! I am thinking that that I will want lots of air, I feel like I need perlite in the crates no? thank you!

Hi, we have never grown ranunculus in crates. But we still do grow our anemones in crates. They work great and are easier to pick. Thank you.😊

What temp did you presprout at? Mine are in an insulated shed to presprout but they're taking a while. Seeing some growth just very slow. I'm in same growing zone as you.

Hi @Gapeys Grub We presprouted the anemones at ambient, no bottom heat. at that time in early October day temps were 65-70 night time was 48-55. It took about 10-12 days to get to transplant stage. They don't have to be super big to transplant. If they have roots but aren't showing green growth that works just fine with anemones.

@@BareMtnFarm Thanks. I ended up bringing them inside to finish sprouting. They're at around 55-65 now and most have come up. Going to wait a bit longer to transplant them I think.

We apply this at bud development stage using no more then 4 ml or 3/4 tsp per gallon of spray applied every 10-14 days until peak bloom period.

I think All of mine are dead because I left it outside with minute 12C. Hic
