When I was growing up, I had a friend who lived down the street. I went to his house one day I was told to come in and Don knotts was sitting at the kitchen table. He was their cousin. I wigged out, even went and got my dad!

It's easy to take this kind of talent for granted. These shows were masterfully written, produced, directed and performed.

"I swallowed my gum" is one of my all time favorite lines.

I am 66, still watching everyday, a happy place is what we need now, comedy!!!!!! Producer's out there, what are you waiting for????

If You ever find a friend like Andy Taylor, you better hold on to him!! No matter how many times Barney failed or his shortcomings, Andy was always there for him. Never putting Barney down but uplifting Him!!!

As Andy Griffith said of the magical chemistry and comedic energy of this show, “We caught lightning in a bottle.”

Andy Taylor (Andy Griffith) knows what Barney Fife (Don Knotts) is capable of and what can really rattle him as well. So to capture the crook the first time was a happy accident, but to capture him twice was clever timing. This episode is a classic in showing the relationship between Andy and Barney.

Andy was such a good friend, this show never gets old.

Here I am at 64!!!! Love this show. Seen all of them so many times . If I had the money I'd buy a piece of land and start my own city. I would call it Mayberry!!!!

My favorite was Opie and the Spoiled Kid. When Opie tried to throw a tantrum, Andy's parental response was priceless!

In my top 10 of the best episodes of the entire series.

Did anyone ever have the gift for laughter Don Knotts possessed? He made comedy so ridiculously effortless you feel sad for everyone else. To argue the greatest comic in television history is a fruitless pursuit. Its Don Knotts by a mile, with everyone stuck in the backstretch choking on his comedic gold dust. There will never be another to match him.

His daughter said even when it was his time to go he still was telling jokes and she had to walk out of the room for a min because he still made her laugh….he seemed like a great father too Don Knotts was the best👍🙏

If this was real life those officers would have been fired. You never leave a suspect in custody with an escape route. They were actually less intelligent than Barney.
