What Andy did during the 2016 season is almost impossible to improve. He proved, he 's probably the best marathon tennis player in the tennis history. He is also one of the best and he deserves respect and award for his fighting spirit and his love of the game.

& he'd just moved to the Big 3 level as demonstrated his victory at Wimbledon which felt inevitable imo, he was imperious throughout that tournament...such a shame it was curtailed by his ongoing hip problems. I think he'd have won at least another 3 or 4 grand slam titles.

The run at number one in 2016 may have contributed to his physical decline now but in the future, I'm sure Murray will realize it was worth it. To climb to the number one ranking in the era of the big 3 is a monumental achievement.

It's a shame that Murray has only won 3 GS. He's more like a 6-7 GS type of player. He should be right up there with the likes of McEnroe, Edberg, Boris Becker, etc. The truth is that for a long time it was the top three and Murray just behind them. So it was the Big three and the number 4. Everyone else was left behind.

He was also very unfortunate to suffer a major hip injury just as he was finally world number 1 and had multiple surgeries. Was at the point of retirement at one point. It's just a levels thing, and I hope andy stays in the conversation cause he deserves it with what all he pulled off being in this super crazy era.. It's always gonna be hard for him with the other three names and being compared to them, but he absolutely deserves the recognition.

The 2016 Olympics final was the most brutal tennis match I've ever seen! The heat, the pressure, a stadium filled with fanatical Argentinian supporters, which made for an incredible atmosphere! It's fascinating the difference three years made, from the anxiety from that 2013 final to how the 2016 final was basically a coronation. We were so used to Andy taking the British crowd for a ride so the feeling was so strange to realize everyone felt like "he's got this one" (yes, I realize it's also due to not dealing with Roger or Novak in a GS final for the only time in his career). I never thought in a year which had the Novak Slam that Andy would snatch both another gold and #1.

Thanks for making this….brilliant video! Always find it such a shame how much some people look down on his achievements and seem to forget that what Roger, Rafa and Novak have done is not the norm and that what Andy has achieved in his career is still incredible. And the thing is, if Andy had achieved that in another era, it would still be amazing, so the fact he’s managed it while playing in the era of arguably the three greatest of all time is quite incredible. As well as also becoming world number 1 and being the only player ever to win 2 Olympic gold medals in the singles. While he may not be the greatest of all time, he is still one of the all time greats in my opinion and if he hadn’t have picked up that awful hip injury, there’s no doubt in my mind that he would have picked up more grand slams and stayed number 1 for longer than he did. Also, in my opinion, and I understand if others disagree with me, if Roger, Rafa and Novak had not been around, I think he could have been considered the greatest of all time as although he may not have ended up winning as many grand slams as them, I wouldn’t have been surprised if he’d been close. But that’s just ifs and maybes 😅 still one of the greatest of all time and should be celebrated. It’s incredible that he’s still playing and back into the top 50 with a metal hip!

One of the greatest videos on sport, that I have ever seen. And I have seen a fair bit. The editing, the content, the music and the silent narration (closing the gap on points) is flawless. On another note, I feel, not winning the Olympic gold has taken its toll on Novak both in 2016 as well as in 2021 (2020) He seemed gutted after both losses.

There are points that you are not aware how important they are until you know what happens the next months. Andy's break 1-3 against Raonic final at Queens is one, but also I remember a break point saved by Andy at the very start of the 5th set against Tsonga Wimbledon QF, the latter just won 3rd and 4th set so an immediate break in the 5th would make it almost impossible for Andy, he saved it and went to win the set easily, eventually Wimbledon, and of course, that amazing 2nd part of the year (And if I have to talk about some early year moment, 1st and 2nd RG rounds were so close to defeat for Andy you have no clue)

Just stumbled across this as I was looking to make my own edit looking at Murray’s career. Honestly mate, an incredible piece of work. The narrative you’ve constructed is absolutely flawless and the pacing is perfect. I cannot thank you enough for putting it together. Is there any chance you could make this available for download somehow (or any of your other Murray edits)? I’m a big Murray fan, so I’d love to just have it as a reference for future projects… and as my daily inspiration to hit the gym haha.

Pushed himself too hard to get to number 1 but he'll always have that number 1 ranking. If he could have controlled his body, maybe rested more, he'd have had more grand slams in the period post 2017 when Federer was injured/too old, nadal was injured and Djokovic won everything

Think it's universally agreed that his 3 slams is an underachievement for someone so unbelievable, although any player would take 3 slams at the start of their careers but u can't take away from what he's achieved. Won the lot, imo he's not as mentally strong as the other big 3 and that's the only difference I think. To achieve what he has with the 3 greatest of all time is insane,,4th greatest player of all time imo regardless slam counts.

No comparison with Emma at all. And of course there was a big 4, in terms of consistency, reaching SF in big tournaments, winning big titles and everything he was a lot above the rest, and not so far of the Big 3. But of course in terms of achievement he is far behind. But every tennis fans know that Andy was part of the Big 4 between 2008 and 2016.
