This was just a few weeks after Federer beat him on the same grass court at Wimbledon. Gotta love Murray's fighting spirit.

Federer a four hour match against Del Potro less than 48 hours before. Federer wins this final under normal circumstances.
Even after over a decade at the top, this is still Murray's greatest ever performance. Took the guy, and one of the greatest players that's ever lived, who had just beat him in a Wimbledon Final 3 weeks earlier, to the cleaners.

With Murray's playing style I don't see a situation where he gets tennis success without wearing down his body. His whole 'thing' was determination and running for every point. Worst tennis commnetary ever!
It makes Murray one of the greatest ever and the best ever player for 🇬🇧.
Delpo was a really important x factor for andy for the two golden medals and the finals in 2013 at wimbledon .
andy played great in this tournament. the mixed doubles really helped him look at his reflexes around the net also really helped having another match to focus on no time to be nervous the day before he played 2 mixed matches and after he won gold still had to to play the other final
Andy Murray the boy from dunblane,3 slams,2 Olympic medals, part of the Davis cup winning team, world no1 and a knighthood to me he’s in the top four players ever ,just fantastic to watch always

The best Olympics
First time I saw tennis players standing still and actually listening when the umpire talks to them during the coin toss.
2012 olympics was a great year and great summer
Nice to hear Charlie from The Italian Job commentating on this.
Fun Fact: Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka are the only multiple GS winners (with 3 each) not named Roger, Rafa, or Novak since Roger won Wimbledon in 2003!! 18 years!! 🤯 6 other men have won one GS in that time…
Couldn’t believe he beat Federer. I feel Federer is better but I really wanted Murray to win and was so happy
Didn't just beat him, he thumped his tub!
Tennis highlights for 2012 were rubbish, they showed maybe 4 or 5 points from each match, and pretty much only the matches containing significant matchups and the medal matches had highlights! I know the full matches are also up, but for the most part the video is completely out of sync with the audio, plus it's good to have reels of ALL the good points, so maybe 8 or 9 minutes, not just a handful over a minute and a half!

@@saicharan3731 you literally claimed in the last comment that Andy hit his peak in 2012. Decide on one time. Andy really didn't peak in 2016, only the rest of the field got weaker. Novak had been quite drained post the French open and didn't play like a no 1 in the following tournaments (His finishes at USO and tour finals are surely notable but his draw was especially easy in the uso) Andy really peaked post wimbledon 2012. Won the Olympics, USO. But then Novak being Novak got clutch again in AO, Rafa was literally untouchable in FO and still has his godly movement to even win HC slams. Roger was off in the next season which gave him a prime chance to win wimbledon which he did. But once Roger got back in form, there was barely any gs Andy could be the favourite in. He's definitely among the best, but all of his great losses have come at the hands of the 3. The big 3 are a different level most of the time.
With no disrespect to Murray and he really deserved that Olympic Gold, Roger was really tired and had he been fresh we could have witnessed an exciting match. However, my respect for Delpo, after losing that marathon semifinal, for playing an outstanding bronze medal match against a healthy Djokovic and winning at the end.🔥
