I wish he would come to New England...I have been a Michael Hedges Fan since I was a kid thanks to my dad. As soon as I discovered Andy I was hooked. Was just watching him cover Aerial Boundaries after I decided to watch this one.

I never played acoustic guitar (nylon) using tapping. I can't hear to be honest. I am doing wrong or it needs a certain kind of guitar (steel)?

2023 and I looked that song up for over an hour. It’s now 1:14am and I am so glad I didn’t give up. Heard it the first time in 2011. It’s simply a great piece of art! Glad I found it again. ❤

I was also 12 years old. I could't believe my eyes and ears this is possible to do on a guitar. I fell in love with fingerstyle music so much. Antoine Dufour, Don Ross and Andy McKee were a holy trinity for me.

I started an experiment to test your hypothesis...didn't have to wait for beard growth to prove you wrong: first I got hungry, then I got thirsty, then I...had a accident and had to curtail further experimentation. Two accidents, actually...if truth be told (I have an enquiring mind: SUE ME!) Anyway; turns out you're wrong; _dead wrong!_ Also, you can't eat ASMR... *_"Wilson!"_*

Even when I have zero time/spoons to engage in social media platforms, I'll still find space to scroll Andy's feeds and hit him with a like on every new video and post I see because he shaped my entire musical anatomy and I'll never be the same after this song. Simply stunning. Find him on all the sites and like every single thing if you feel the same. He deserves it.

My bass player showed me this in high school. Graduated in 2006, he is still my bass player today.

I remember when I was forwarded this song from a friend like 7 years ago when it came out. Then remembered that 7 years ago I wasn’t 22 and I now realise that 22 is 13 years ago.

14 years later and people are still watching this. This was ground breaking for me at the time. I didn't know that a person is capable of doing such things to a guitar. My mind was blown I almost didn't believe it.

Been trying to recall the name of this masterpiece as my bestfriend had this on his iPod touch! Still an absolute gem!

Andy McKee was the first "youtube artist" I started following. I fell in love with his style, then bought the download for The Art of Motion. Glad to see 10 years later and people still love him.

I cant believe this song is 15 years old. I remember listening to this with my buddies in high-school.. such a nostalgia trip

When I first saw this video, I was 14 or 15. At the time there was a local music venue in town that my life basically revolved around. It was a big deal for a lot of us kids. This video was UNREAL to us, and spread like wildfire. Clearly, we weren’t the only music scene that was captivated. I’m now 28 and working a corporate job, with a house and three pets lol. The past 14 years have been filled with hurdles - some self induced and others out of my control. Sometimes I miss the simpler times, but this song still gives me a sense of hope and appreciation for life that it gave me when I first heard it.

The nostalgia in this for me. I remember watching this when KZread just started and I was learning to play guitar. The years have flow by

Dolph C. Volker he actually had lessons on the guitar but I do see whereyou're going in your point. :) In interviews he has talked about his lessons briefly and he also said he used to practice 8 hours a day or at least a coupel per day.

Not sure if this makes me want to quit music forever, or inspires me to get better

Cool. I met Michael Hedges when I was 16 at the University Theater in Palo Alto. We watched him play live all summer outdoors. He played every Friday and Saturday night for 3 months. . It was a magical time........1984.

god i love this so much.....listened this masterpiece first time sometime during 2011 and now its 2021. the melody just takes you through your own past memories.....absolute beautiful music!

man I still remember watching this song back in 2006 for the first time. totally flashed by this massive talent and composition I've spent many weeks during the upcoming summer holidays learning and practicing this masterpiece as a teenager. After all these years it still brings me so much joy, especially when showing off skills to friends and family. thx Andy 🤘🏼

😢wow this brings back so memories, this help me thru so much pain and made me pic up a guitar. This old guitar has rescue me countless times!

Just like so many other people I'm sitting here listening to this in 2022 and I first heard this song over 10 years ago and it sounds just as good as when I first heard it, makes me think of so many good times playing guitar with old friends who I kept in touch with and some I've lost touch with but those memories will always be there and to be able to listen to a song that brings all those memories back is something quite special. Thank you for that Andy

Man this song is as beautiful as ever. Haven’t listened to it in nearly 13 years and still it’s a timeless masterpiece. Hope you are still rocking and creating these works of art out there Andy!

Thirteen years later and I'm still trying to figure out how this dude had enough time to slap his guitar..... truly one of the greats.

This is the reason I started playing guitar. So inspiring. So unique for its time. This sound will always be refreshing and clean. What a song. Andy I hope you understand the impact you had on new musicians even though you are not considered a significant artist. This IS music at its finest. Still in awe.

Back once again! I can't remember an older video on KZread that I've watched, nor a better one for that matter.

I was in Andy's concert in my Hometown 15min. Ago. Just impressive!

Back in 2007 I was in a tight spot, this song, among others, helped me a bit. Now, 14 years later, here I am again, in a tight spot, and looking for the comfort this song gave me. So thanks to this excelent musician, for creating this, and other pieces, that soothe our souls (or at least mine)
