I was in the audience when he tore his ACL, and they asked for a doctor. There were like ... 10 people getting up. Incredibly impressed by him finishing the show; There were more than just one song left (albeit, it was pretty close to the end) - I'm guessing 15-20 minutes maybe.

It's so weird how it affects different people. I tore mine playing ultimate frisbee when I was 40 and there was no pain whatsoever. But I went down hard because... that sound and the knee buckling. That's a terrible sound it makes. I knew it was bad.

Yup, he wears a knee brace currently so he can still perform (you can see for yourself if you search for the cast performance on the TODAY show). He probably doesn't do all 8 every week though, so he can rest his knee to recover.

I don't think they realised he was the Matilda guy, or the brilliant comedian and actor either. I was at Groundhog Day in August, and Tim came out for the bows, myself and my mom started going crazy for Tim and everyone around us was like "Who's the weird orange hair guy who's just wandered out, and why are those 2 women screaming?"

When he was Sgt. Dodds on SVU they treated him like crap, despite the fact that he was a good cop and a good man, just because of who his dad was, and then he got killed. He should've been a regular on SVU, but he barely lasted a year on the show, and then he gets killed off. Just saying.

Wow…I’m not a movie person, but I believe 90% of Andy’s musicals were from movies originally (rocky, legally blonde, pretty woman, Saturday night fever, wedding singer, on the 20th century, maybe the mystery of Edwin Drood). Jersey boys and wicked weren’t movies prior

Steven Shields maybe he meant it as close as they could get to an orthopedic surgeon? I don't know. I wasn't there. sometimes things sound funnier in your head.

If you brought a kid with a torn ACL to a pediatrician, they'd probably refer you to an orthopedic surgeon. Yes they're real doctors, but that doesn't mean that they're well suited to treating knee injuries, especially as a first responder. At best they might be able to diagnose it, give some basic first aid if necessary, and give advice for where to get it treated. Also, it was a joke. Calm down.
