Hoost used his superior quickness and reach to good effect in this fight. He just kept throwing combination after combination while Hug struggled to squeeze in the occasional punch or kick.

@performancejames00 No, Andy's size is quite ok - 180 cm, 98 kg. It's not the size only, too big doesn't mean more powerful or more technical. Being a bit smaller than a guy that's 190 cm. for example, has its advantages. Not to mention how better is for grapling.

Hate to see my favourite fighter get beat up like that... Anyways, Andy's best side's were also that he wasn't perfect all the time :) He inspires me to train harder...

Sapp fought for real back then, and Hoost's strategy of blocking got him in huge trouble with Sapp's power. Hoost's guard is great when he isn't at a 100 + lbs weight disadvantage.

The only explanation I can think of is that Hoost is a technical fighter as opposed to a power fighter, so he has trouble dealing enough damage to a mountain of manflesh such a Sapp.

andy was small for K1. most of his knockouts were guys bullying him with thier size. branco cikatic who isnt an all time great in terms of technique knocked out hoost twice because of his size and heavy hands.

No K-1 doesn't exist. MMA does. Both are "real" fighting sports, although it is tough to call it real fighting.

Yes its real, match any kung-fu, wing chun and jkd fighter vs this guys on the street, and still K-1 or mma would have prevail. As a matter of fact all kung-fu wing chun and jkd fighters would have ended in the hospital, or God forbbids worse.

Sooo... how's its possible that Hoost lost with Bob Sapp? Twice.

@upalonyTony Frustrated, not respecting his opponent. Very very bad if you fight and even if you are one of the best it can cost you the fight! Only that thing.

I think it's more he kinda stopped caring about kickboxing at that point, he lost his touch...either that or he didn't know how to deal with his size. Either way I ask myself the same thing lol
