Don't also know if his brothers helped him or not with that song.what I know is ,it was Barry who was behind him in most of his songs.By the way,my favorite song of Andy "I just wanna Be your everything", and" Rest your Love on Me" ,esp the duet with Olivia Newton John.

Albhy Galuten and Andy wrote it. Albhy produced it. Some of the lesser known songs are terrific and some never even released so some fans for that reason don't know them.

Andy was such a great talent. I guess it runs in the family.

Yes, this was written by Albhy and Andy. Albhy co-wrote some of the songs for Streisand and others as well although he was primarily a Grammy winning producer. He was a musician trained at the Berklee College of Music.

I think this was Andy's first studio album. He was only 19 years old and wrote most of it himself. Barry contributed to one or two tracks as did Albhy. Really like this one. Andy's anniversary is on 10th March. Thanks Chad x

Believe the backing is John Sambataro, who's worked with other big artists.

I love this beautiful song! I always just assumed that it was Andy harmonizing with himself, as that's what it sounds like to me. But, to answer your question and make sure that it was unmistakably true, I looked at the back of my record sleeve for the album because I knew it had to say it there. And, it says that Barry only sang backup vocals on “I Just Want to Be Your Everything” and “(Love Is) Thicker Than Water”, which makes sense to me, as those are the only two songs on the album in which I hear him, and that John Sambataro, whoever that is, sang backup vocals on all other selections, which I'm assuming means every other song on the album that has backup vocals. Thanks for another great marathon! I look forward to the next one!

It probably does have a track of Andy singing harmony, in addition to John Sambararo. It was pretty common for records to have multiple layers of vocal tracks to make a richer sound.

@@dianehouston5708 That could be the case. That would explain why it sounds like Andy singing the backup vocals. And, if that IS the case, I guess, Andy's voice overpowers John's; ‘cause his is all I hear in the entire song. But, maybe, it was meant to be that way. I'm sure John's vocals still add something to it.

Thanks a lot Chad, as always it's such a gift to discover your pleasant reatcions. Love this track and especially the outstanding Eagles-esque harmonies. When he came to Miami in September 1976 to begin the sessions at Criteria Studio, it coincided with the Eagles recording Hotel California which they completed in October. Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh plays on two tracks of "Flowing rivers" (his first album) : "Love is thicker than water" and "I just want to be your everything" and Andy said that listening to some of the Eagles' songs influenced the sound he wanted on "Flowing rivers".

I know that his brothers produced this album. I'm not sure about the backing vocals, I've got a cold and even my ears feel affected. I could probably dig into my album collection and find out what you want to know, because the Gibbs always give credit where it's due on every song.
