@@trb2021 According to the album's liner notes, it's just Barry. I believe the only time all 4 Gibbs recorded together is on the song Desire. I wish we could have heard all 4 brothers sing together more.
On March 5th Andy would have been 66. On March 10th it'll be 36 years since he left us. RIP Andy Gibb.
Andy was born in 58, the year the Bee Gees were established. 12 years younger than Barry and 9 years younger than the twins. He needed to know he could have is own success because of his talent and not because of his brothers. In January of 88 they announced Andy would be joining the Bee Gees as a permanent member. Sadly he died March 10th of 88. The brothers do a song (Our Love)Don't Throw It All Away at their One Night Only Concert in Vegas. They have slides of Andy growing up while they start the song then they go to Andy performing it live. They would have been even more incredible together. Their kids have recorded together including some of the Bee Gees older sister's Leslie's kids. Leslie sang with Barry and Maurice when Robin briefly left the group.

Exactly, Andy was too young to join his brother's initially because the Bee Gees were 12 and 9 years old and already singing when Andy was born.
He was a little boy when The Bee Gees were starting their fame. They were talking to him about joining, but he died soon after. He had his own band in Australia when he was a teenager.

Actually, his brothers were already a group and we’re performing BEFORE Andy was born! Barry was 12 when Andy was born and Barry was 10 the first time The Bee Gees performed on television.
Andy Gibb is the only artist to push a family member out of number one. I don’t know if that record was ever been broken. I can’t think of anyone except maybe the Jacksons.
Andy was 12 years younger than Barry but Barry always said Andy was his twin! They looked alike; had the same birthmark, both were left-handed; liked the same hobbies, etc. He said they were more alike than the actual twins of Mo and Robin. And Barry took Andy under his wings writing and producing him. Barry’s son said the only time he saw his father cry was at Andy’s funeral.
I had a crush on him back in the day . We lost singers dying too too and in their prime ANDY Gibb Freddie Mercury prince George Michael Michael Jackson RIP legends

Just Barry singing backing vocals on Andy's songs.👍
Did you know Barry has an older sister? She actually sang with Barry and Maurice when Robin left the group. Not on any albums but live performances.
He didn't need to join his brothers He was HIGHLY successful by himself. Although his brothers wrote the music. He would occasionally join them onstage but he did things his way. He was an actor too.
They asked Andy to join them after he got out of rehab, and he decided to join them, then he ended up passing away.
Tuesday (3/5) was Andy’s 66th birthday. And Sunday 3/10 it’ll be 36 years since he passed!! RIP MY SWEET ANDY!!!! You are missed!!! He was too young at first. He was going to join but he passed before he could. His first 3 songs went #1. He was the first artist to do that!!
RIP Andy💖
Check out his daughter singing one of his songs A fool for a night by Peta Gibb! And some of the other Gibb children singing a Bee Gees song Please don’t turn out the lights!
This just doesn't come close to showing the man's talent. Like his brothers, Andy was a great live performer. Check him out doing this song live on The Midnight Special, or a song he wrote called Starlight on Don Kirschner's Rock Concert. Look for Andy performing After Dark for our troops on a Bob Hope Special, hosting Solid Gold, duets with Olivia Newton-John, Marie Osmond, etc, his Presidential Command Performance of BeeGees classic "Words" is stunning. Many people who watched his career at the time including me know what a consummate performer he was (even broadway & sitcoms), the most versatile of the brothers....so very special. RIP❤
❤ throb of my youth, lol
Watch the interview done after all the deaths entitled "Barry ,the Final Gibb"
He didn't join his brothers because they were already established by the time he started. Later on it was decided he was gonna join his brothers , but he passed away from a heart infection.

Yes, can't decide if it's a blessing or a curse to watch all those you love/have loved in your life just fade away one at a time!!! Can make it a lonely fate! Glad Barry's got his wife, children and grandchildren in his life. That always eases the pain of loss!
Barry Gibb wrote a lot of Andy's songs. Andy's biggest hits in the later 70's were "(Love Is) Thicker Than Water", "Shadow Dancing", "An Everlasting Love", "(Our Love) Don't Throw It All Away". Sadly he passed away at only 30 years of age. Now only Barry is left from the 4 brothers. But at least we have a great legacy of their music.
Robert Stigwood the manager of the Bee Gees and Andy Gibb decided it would be more beneficial for him to stay as a solo artist than join the group as he had a younger audience.
Someone mentioned Andy singing "Words", which is a BG song. He looks and sounds a lot like Barry in this video. I've heard him called Barry's "mini me" or they're called "twins" despite their 12 year age difference.
Check out the "You Should Be Dancing" video from the Spirits tour where Andy joins his brothers on stage. That will give you a hint of what it would have been like if he'd lived long enough to join the group as planned.
it makes me so happy to see you enjoying this music so much
Shadow Dancing. Desire. (Our Love)Don't Throw It All Away. Love Is Thicker Than Water. Everlasting Love. Words. (Live with Andy in a black tux.) Time Is Time. Etc.... I love Andy singing I Just Wanna Be Your Everything on the Midnight Special.
Yes Barry Gibb is a background singer. Barry helped write and produce Andy’s music as well
He was just too young. Yes brothers did alot of backup singing. They wrote and produced alot of Andy's song. He was going to join his brother's, but he passed away. There is a not so known song called Desire that Andy did with his brothers. If you wanna hear them go full Bee Gees, listen to Desire. Thanks for the reaction.

The only thing Robin & Mo had a hand in was helping to write 3 of Andy's songs & sang backing on 1. They never produced any of Andy's music (or for others they wrote for)....that was all the genius of big bro Barry!
Definitely check out shadow dancing next
He wanted to be in the spotlight on his own and not in the shadows of his older brothers. Barry wrote and produced all Andy’s hits!.. the plan was to join them but unfortunately he met his demise before than came to fruition
Barry wrote or co-wrote 20 songs that went number one in either the US or UK which puts him up there with Lennon/McCartney.

@@buchholtzmathieu1810Yep, only Barry singing backing. Robin & Mo had very little to do with Andy's career, helping to write just 3 songs and singing on 1.🎼
This is the soundtrack of my youth you're getting into now!! Enjoy!!
Why wasn t Andy a part of the Bee Gees? While the Bee Gees started off pretty young themselves, Andy wasn't even ten when the group were beginning to score some pretty massive international success - so he was too young to join his brothers. He'd moved with the family to Australia when he was just six months old, but came back to the UK in early 1967.
Andy and Barry should have been the twins. They even had identical birthmarks. They were so much alike.
The plan was for Andy Gibb to sing solo to get experience and join the Bee Gees part Time. The Bee Gees helped Andy write his songs and performed as backing vocals for the studio versions of his songs. Andy was announced as joining the Bee Gees fulltime but passed away before that could happen.

Andy was working on a new album and was supposed to be joining his brothers as the 4th Bee Gee the year he passed away. The album was eventually released posthumously whoch I think was mostly thanks to his brothers. If I remember right the studio was just going to shelve it but his brothers made sure it was released.
He was alot younger than his brothers
Shadow Dancing should be next! So good 😊
Probably the perfect pop song. It is timeless.
I still get so sad every time I hear Andy's voice
I’m so very lucky to see him live when I was 9 yrs old in 1977. I was obsessed with him and my parents took my best friend and I . We stood on our fold down stairs and screamed our heads off in the center 4th row . I am now 55 & literally remember it like it was yesterday. I played his album and 45’s everyday growing up .This brings tears to my eyes it’s so nostalgic to my life . 🤍🤍🤍Check out some of his live performances please . He was perfect . He was solo cause they encouraged him to be. He was huge when the BeeGees were huge . It all went hand and hand . They sang backup for each other in studio recordings

If you want to hear something really different from the Bee Gees check out the song Tomorrow, Tomorrow.
Oh my gosh. Doesn't he sound just like Barry and looks like him too. So sad he died so young. Never tire of listening to them after a.l this time.😊
This was a HUGE hit!! I'm 55 now . I was 9 when this came out, I can still sing every word!. "EVERLASTING LOVE", "SHADOW DANCING", "LOVE IS(THICKER THAN WATER) I forgot the other one I love. I've been drinking 🍻 EDIT: "DON'T THROW IT ALL AWAY (OUR LOVE). Barry wrote it. Andy got his heart broken by an older actress named Victoria Principal. Barry also wrote Dione Warwick's hit "HEARTBREAKER" about it. Look at the lyrics.
I had the good fortune of seeing Any Gibb perform in Charlotte NC as a young kid. I also know his story very well. Barry was very instrumental in Andy's song writing and for his solo career for that matter. Andy put too much pressure on himself to live up to the family name. Followed by years of drug and alcohol abuse and he even self sabotaged his own career. Andy Gibb had every bit of the talent that his brothers had. His songs even rivaled the Bee Gees at the top of the charts. A young man that had it all right at his feet but unfortunately he just never could get out of his own way...My favorite Andy Gibb song is "Love is thicker than water"
He was to join them but had to complete a contractual agreement first. He died before that could happen. He is 12 years younger than Barry and was too young when the BeeGees started.
The late seventies was were very good to the Gibb family with Saturday Night Fever and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band ❤️

David Cassidy and Andy Gibbs were my ❤!
All four of them could sing falsetto, but Barry usually did it. For a good video of Maurice singing falsetto, you should watch (if you haven't) "Nights on Broadway" from "The Midnight Special". Also, find the video "Bee Gees - Our Love (Don't Throw It All Away) (Live in Las Vegas, 1997 - One Night Only)". This is a tribute to Andy. Have tissues handy.
Seen Andy in concert, it was 1977 and I was 12 years old and in love! 😂❤
Andy was just before becoming the 4th Bee Gee ... he was going to join the group ... but then he passed away! SO sad! You will hear the Bee Gees singing backup and it's obvious they had a hand in the song writing! We know that Maurice and Robin were twins and Barry teased that he and Andy were twins .... just born at different times! Had he lived, the Bee Gees would have been a quartet!

Only Barry singing backup on this & almost all of Andy's songs. The twins sang backing on Desire & only helped write 3 of his songs.
Cause he passed before he was gonna join his Brothers
A casualty of the music business like many others. Sad chain of events. This young man had it all and many guys were jealous frankly. He was a pop star straight out of the gate
Andy’s brothers performed all the background vocals with their brother.
His brothers helped him write his songs and sung backing on quite a few of them. But Barry was the most active in helping and singing with Andy. That's his backing vocals in this song.

Barry is the only member still around
I Loved this song but shadow dancing is my favorite I discovered everlasting love about 9 years ago
There were plans and or talk about Andy joining his brothers eventually, but it never happened. He was working on a "comeback" when he died. Andy and Barry were a lot alike Barry has said. The brother's were heavily involved in writing and or co-writing songs for Andy's albums and providing background vocals.
They formed in 1958 the year was born and moved to England where they hit it big within 6 months when he was 8/9. Was to join them on their One album in 1988 but passed away before he could. One wasn’t released until 1988 as they took 6 months off after his death. They wrote Wish you were here and Tears specifically for Andy but dedicated the album to him.
You definitely need to see their documentary

Andy didn't want to join his brothers. He didn't want to be in their shadow, so to speak. He wanted a solo career. The brothers asked him numerous times to join them. The choice was always Andy's. He would have been accepted into the group at any time. Andy does have a falsetto voice like Barry. You need to listen to more of his music to hear it. But YES, Barry sings back up on this song.
Wow, this brings back memories. I was about eight years old and this came out and I remember my sisters and brother playing this all the time and you’re so right he would’ve fit in with his brothers
I was so in love with Andy..as a 10 yr old I was sure we would be married one day😂
You should react to Andy singing Words live. He's in a black tuxedo singing at some event for Reagan. His girlfriend Victoria introduces him and the song Robin wrote, For Whom The Bell Tolls is about their break up. Anyway Andy is growing a beard and looks and sounds so much like Barry it's crazy. Barry and Andy had identical birthmarks.

He was set to join them in 1988 before he died the plan was he was going to do one more album and then join his brothers on tour the one for all tour. They were going to be 4 instead of 3. But he died before that could happen. So their album One was dedicated to Andy and the song wish you were here was written for him

Wish You Were Here was Andy's song & his alone and should never have been changed or altered, until Robin desecrated it by rewriting & recording it himself. There were things Mo & Barry wanted, such as carousels at the beginning, because Andy loved carousels. Robin so disrespected something Barry referred to as "a sacred object". They decided it would be too hard to sing when they did their dedication song to Andy at every concert, so was best to let it rest with Andy. And out of hundreds of Bee Gees songs, that the one Robin choses to change & record. Thank God Barry would never work with him again.😵😵
Ah, brings back my youth! I was such a huge fan of Andy and Bee Gees. Still am, actually. When you can fit it in, I highly recommend Barry's duets with country artists released just a couple of years ago. It's called Greenfields and is a collection Bee Gees tunes. It's excellent!
I adored Andy and dtill miss him. Mh favorite album of his is Flowing Rivers, his first, because there's the most of his own inflluence in it. As he went through various difficulties, Barry had more and more involvement with the writing, producing and singing. The song Flowing Rivers breaks my heart.
Barry wrote Grease too
Gotta check some David and Shaun Cassidy.
ANDY AND BARRY WERE MORE LIKE EACH OTHER THAN THEIR TWIN BROTHERS WERE MORE LIKE😅😅😅
Discover Barbara Streisand’s work with Barry Gibb! Guilty is a great start.
It is The Bee Gees in 5he background singing. 😎
The three older brothers were born on the mid and late 1940’s so him being born in 1958 he was just too young! They have an older sister , Leslie who can also sing but chose not to sing professionally, she has 8 kids!
There’s a documentary called the last Bee Gee it’s a little old now but it’s extremely interesting. It has interviews with Barry and old footage of his family
Nice reaction.❤ I like that you read us the background info to remind of details we used to know😂! He certainly would have fit right in and that was the plan. But Barry produced and wrote Andy's songs to give him a great start as a solo artist. After Andy's death in '88, Barry would get choked up when Andy's name was brought up in interviews. Andy's death was very upsetting for the whole family!❤😢

Albhy actually said Barry wrote the songs Andy was given credit on. Andy basically wrote down what Barry told him to. That's what Albhy, who was in the room at the time , was quoted as saying.
Please, could you listen to the famous Andy Gibb hit "SHADOW DANCING" in 1978 ?
Joe Walsh started Richard Marx career.
ANDY DIED AT 30. ANDY WAS TOO YOUNG BECAUSE THEY HAD A DECADE ON HIM. ❤❤❤
This version has a lot of echo. There is a better recorded version of this, the one that was played on the radio.
WE ALL THINK THE SAME THING. BUT THEY CONSIDERED THE DIFFERENCE IN AGE WAS TOO MUCH TO INTEGRATE IT AND ANDY WAS ALWAYS VERY INDISCIPLINE AND THE VICES MADE EVERYTHING WORSE. MANY TIMES THEY WANTED TO HELP HIM AND WHEN THEY FINALLY WAS GOING TO INTEGRATE HIM, HE DIE
What’s with the echo when the music is playing?
